Be Mine
Title: Be Mine
House: Ravenclaw
Word Count: 100
Characters/Pairing: Severus/Remus
A/N: I'm assuming that wizards can do photomanips.

When he opens the Valentine, Remus knows that Severus has not meant to be cruel but adoring in the awkward manner of a lovestruck loner. He also suspects that Severus did not intend for Remus to identify him as the sender, for Severus does not know of Remus' preternaturally strong sense of smell.

Nor could Severus have guessed at the pain Remus would feel from the image on the card, a magically created photo of himself waving under a romantic moon, with "Dreaming Of You" printed across the bottom. Remus hopes that the quiet boy never witnesses the true nightmare.

Thanks so much! If the Marauders and not Voldemort are Severus' worst memory, he must have have a pretty heavy investment somewhere...

Thanks! I haven't really read much Sev/Remus and can't imagine much I could believe, but I could definitely believe Severus had a crush on him before he knew.

Very touching, yes. I especially like how it ties into what happens later in canon while still being such a natural extension of his thoughts on the valentine. Lovely.

Thanks so much! I'd love to hear Snape's version of those events. He seems to have taken it terribly, terribly personally, not just on a mortal danger level.

Oh, there are just no words. WEll, yeah, there are, and the words are that this is just so good. Poor, sweet Remus. And then with what happens and... yeah.

Always knew that Snape had a crush on Remus *G*

Aww, you made Snape seem sweet, and I even didn't know that was possible.

It's very Remus, the way he realises and just quietly acknowledges it all. And then the last sentence... eep.

Thanks! I think Snape must have been sweet, in a very nerdy pathetic way, and Sirius and James just trampled all over him. Rowling really made me feel sorry for the guy in OOTP.

Thanks! So am I...I did not mean to imply in any way that I think Remus was ever in love with Severus. Just that I think the opposite could well have been true, Before.

"...adoring in the awkward manner of a lovestruck loner."

That is going in my list of best lines I've ever read. It's perfect. In character and still insightful. The whole piece is perfectly on target for Remus. I usually consider Remus with anyone otehr than Sirius to be very WRONG, but I actually think this is sweet. That's a mark of good writing.

Wow, thank you so much! I am completely a R/S shipper but I think it's quite possible that Severus had a crush on one of them -- he seems to have reacted so terribly personally to their taunting, and Remus was the only one who apparently didn't treat him horribly. Rowling really made me feel sorry for Snape in OOTP.

*sniff* Awww...as a Snupin (as well as Blupin or pretty much anything with Lupin) shipper, I have to say that I really liked this drabble. It was completely believable and you have Remus's voice down pat.

Thanks so much! I'm much more of a Blupin than a Snupin but I can easily see Snape having a serious thing for Lupin (and using the werewolf thing as an excuse to try to kill it, unsuccessfully).
