Title: Bicker
By: LiteraryBeauty
Pairing: Hermione/Draco
Word count: 100
House: Ravenclaw
Rated: PG
Challenge: Flat

“Ugh!” Hermione cried. “You’d claim the Earth was flat if it somehow benefitted you.”

Draco looked thoughtful for a moment. “How could that benefit me?”

She shrugged, forgetting the argument in light of intellectual pursuit, however asinine. “Maybe you could get more land out of it. Or you could invent a new prejudice against those on the underside of the Earth.”

“So you presumptuously assume we’re on the top? For all we know, we’re the underside!”

Hermione opened her mouth to argue, but then snapped it shut. “What are you talking about?” she cried.

Draco shrugged. “I never know anymore.”

Title: Making the most of your boredom
By: flutterbybitz
House: Hufflepuff
Word Count: 100.
Characters: Ron, Hermione age 22
Challenge: flat
Author's Notes: flat: 2. (adj.) lacking interest or emotion; dull and lifeless  3. (adv.) below the true or normal pitch of a musical sound

"See you later, mate," said Ron, clapping Harry on the back before shutting the door behind him. Turning, he saw Hermione in his otherwise empty flat. She sat slouching on his couch, looking up at the lighting fixture on his ceiling. Smiling slightly,  he crossed the small room to crash onto the seat next to her.

She spared him a look. "So."

"So."

Silence. Then, "B flat."

"What?"

"That note your lights hum. The note is B flat."

"......Are you very bored?"

"Unbelievably."

"So am I." A pause, then he smirked at her. "What's a pair like us to do?"

This week(s), Ravenclaw beats Hufflepuff, 20-10.

New Prompt: Flat.

Because I have to move in the next couple-three weeks, so places of habitation are on the brain. However, you can write about someone being irritated about lack of boobage, or traveling a very unhilly terrain, or shoes with no noteworthy heel elevation.

:)

By: LiteraryBeauty
Pairing: Sirius/Remus
Word count: 100
Rated: PG-13
Challenge: Boot
House: Ravenclaw

“So,” Harry began, wide-eyed innocence betrayed by the mischievous glint in his eye. “You and Remus, huh?”

“Yes, Harry,” Sirius said, anticipating some sort of indignant comment about the younger man not having been informed.

“Who, um... who... pitches?”

Sirius looked up from his tea. “What?”

“You know...” Harry hedged, seeing that Sirius did not, in fact, know.

“Who’s the guy? Who’s the giver? Which of you—”

“Harry!” Remus cried, mortified.

“Harry James Potter, you are not too old to be getting my boot up your arse!”

Harry bolted to the doorway, smiling. “I think I have my answer!”

By: flutterbybitz
House: Hufflepuff
Word Count: 100.
Characters: Some Weasley grandchildren
Challenge: boot
Author's Notes: Takes place right after the epilogue of DH. James teases Victoire about the scene he witnessed between her and Teddy Lupin.

“So.” A smirk spread across James’s face. “Enjoy saying your goodbyes, Victoire?”

His oldest cousin appeared to ignore him and flipped open her magazine with a little more force than was necessary.

“Teddy sure seemed to,” continued James, undeterred.

“James…” Fred began warningly.

James grinned at him. “How long have you two been saying your goodbyes in such an affectionate—!”

There was a flurry of clothes, a loud bang, and James was booted out of the compartment. The door slammed shut in his face as he landed heavily and from inside, he heard Dominique comment: “Ma soeur est formidable, non?”

Character: Bellatrix and Rodolphus Lestrange
Word count: 100
Rated: PG
Challenge: Boot
House: Ravenclaw

"And why can't we just apparate?"

"I told you," snapped Bellatrix, rummaging in a dumpster that smelled of vomit, "no one can apparate straight into the Dark Lord's hideout, this is the most direct way."

A cold breeze swept the alleyway, noisily blowing a newspaper closer to them. Rodolphus held his lit wand higher, checking both ends of the alleyway.

"Here it is!" shouted Bellatrix. She held up a stringless brown boot with a broken heel.

It glowed blue, lighting up the contents of the dumpster, and Rodolphus grabbed it by the toe. They vanished from the spot and the alley was dark again.

Title: Foundation
House: Slytherin
Word Count: 100
Characters/Pairings: Marietta Edgecombe, Cho Chang
Author's Notes: My very first drabble! Makeup is serious business.
__________

There's a portrait of a young Rowena Ravenclaw in the girl's bathroom. She's wearing a fresh green frock and violet blooms in her hair. Marietta once asked Anthony whether there was a similar picture in the boy's bathroom. He said there wasn't.

Cho stands in front of the portrait, silently handing Marietta bottles. Rowena doesn't seem very interested in what they're doing. She's reading a book, absent-mindedly twirling one of her violets.

Marietta tries not to cry. It seems selfish when Cho's survived so much worse. But as she plasters on makeup, she feels as though she's lost something, too.

Title: Dressing
By: LiteraryBeauty
Character: Snape
Word count: 100
Rated: PG
Challenge: Cover
House: Ravenclaw

Snape finished up the fastenings on his white lawn shirt.

The first layer was a buffer between himself and the world.

He donned his black frock of the excessive buttons. Fingers moved gracefully with the ease and speed of ten thousand repetitions.

The second layer was to keep the inside in. Tight, reassuring, restraining.

He took his robes in hand, straightening them around his shoulders and fixing the clasp in place.

The final layer was protection. Armour. Nothing could get past, no one can see through.

Snape felt safe this way. Protected. Separate.

But there was a loneliness in layers.

Title: Life Goes On
Challenge: [info]hp100  - stream and [info]slytherin100  - dull
Pairing: Pansy/Luna
Words: 100
House: Slytherin
Author's Note: Post DH. o.o I spelled Xenophilius right on my first try! *shocked* ^^;

It annoyed her beyond thought, the dull look on Luna's face as she spoke about her father's death. Pansy disliked Xenophilius greatly, but the man had given her one good thing.

"Don't you care at all that he died?"

"Of course I do, but the stream of life must go on."

Pansy snapped then.

"Why don't you just say what's on your mind and stop playing with words!"

A blank look was her answer. Disgusted, Pansy turned away, only to hear a small sniffle behind her.

"My parents are both dead now. What more do you want of me, Pansy?"

Title: What Percy Likes
House: Slytherin
Word count: 100
Challenge: Rank
Rating: G
Characters: Percy Weasley

Percy likes order. Percy likes hierarchy. Percy also – although he blushes and has to realign the pencils on his desk if he thinks too much about Things Like That – likes strong women. In particular, women who understand the beauty of rules, rank and rigour. He smiles at the thought. Alliteration is, in Percy’s opinion, a very neat sort of joke.

The kittens watch him suspiciously. Percy doesn’t like the kittens. But her smile is bright and brisk, and he does like that.

“Thank you Mr Weasley!” she trills, and takes the papers.

Percy really likes people who remember his name.

“What is that god-awful smell?” Hermione’s voice sounded rather nasal, as she was pinching her nose viciously against the olfactory assault.

“Welcome to Potions, Miss Granger. I advise you to become accustomed.”

She shook her head rapidly. “You must have nose damage. There is no way that is normal!”

He looked at her in disbelief. “Do you honestly question my smelling abilities? Have you seen my nose?”

Hermione snorted, immediately regretting it as she breathed back in through her nose. She was thankful he was going to have a sense of humour about this.

“Let’s just find the dead thing.”

Word count: 100

Challenge: Spice
House: Slytherin

Molly Prewett flung herself onto her bed, puffing. Furtively checking the room, she unclenched her fist and looked at the asymmetrical stone bottle in her hand. She read the note again.

“A beautiful woman deserves the most beautiful hair. Happy Birthday xx”

She opened the bottle, and the smell of cinnamon flooded the air. She half snorted, half giggled. Then patted her hair, blushing. Some people.

Years later, Ginny Weasley also flung herself onto her bed, crying. She didn’t understand why her mum was so cross about her new shampoo. “Spice is best left in cakes” was all she’d said.

Title: Home Cooking
House: Slytherin
Word Count: 100
Pairing: Severus Snape/Argus Filch-ish
Author’s Note: n/a

Hogwarts food is all spice and no substance. Elf-made, it's nothing but gruel with nutrition and flavour and texture magicked in. Every bite is perfectly seasoned and perfectly the same.

Severus is no epicure, but he can tell the difference. It's due to the sandwiches - the ones Filch brings by whenever he's worked through dinner again. Roast beef usually, too rare in the middle with salty charring around the edges. Hard bread and sharp pickled beetroot. He cleans his plate as he rarely does in the Great Hall.

There's something to be said, perhaps, for simple but honest fare.

Title: Danger
By: LiteraryBeauty

Word count: 100
Rated: PG-13
Challenge: Spice
House: Ravenclaw

Best friends. It had always been enough before.

But when Sirius really thought about that, it wasn’t entirely true. Before, it had to be enough. There was too much at risk.

Now Sirius spent every night trying to ignore the sense of foreboding that haunted him.

Things were coming to a head, he was sure.

Sirius watched Remus as he read, his salt-and-pepper hair falling into his eyes every few moments, steady and scarred fingers pushed it back. Sirius’ heart swelled. He vowed he would tell Remus tomorrow.

A world away, Harry Potter had a vision. Sirius was in danger.

Title: Lies
By: LiteraryBeauty
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Word count: 100
Rated: PG-13
Challenge: Alternate
House: Ravenclaw

Harry found it easier to lie.

“You look fine.”

“I’m working overtime tonight.”

“I love your eyes.”

“I want you.”

She wasn’t the one he wanted. She was the other. The alternative. She invaded his space like he invaded Harry’s mind. The two of them had psychological warfare down to an art form. Harry was a hapless victim yet again.

He always told the truth inside his head.

“I don’t love you anymore.”

“I have to see him.”

“They will never be grey.”

“I only want him.”

Draco had to lie too, but he was better acquainted with the concept.

Title: Bored Criminal

Characters: Hermione, Ginny
Words: 100
House: Slytherin
Author's Note: Just a small moment between a bored Ginny and an unsuspecting Hermione.
-----

"Did you know that it takes more muscles to frown then to smile?" Ginny said.

"Does it now?" Looking up from the book she'd been reading, Hermione watched her friend.

A rainy Saturday meant no Quidditch for the day. That left Ginny bound indoors, bored. Hermione was a good friend, however, she lacked the stimulus Ginny needed to be entertained. Speaking of which, she smiled oddly, making Hermione set her book down.

"What?"

"Did you know about the criminal in the dorms?"

"Criminal?"

Standing, Ginny approached her friend, giggling. "Yes, she's a serial tickler!" Ginny shouted, throwing herself at Hermione.
