Stephen Fry admits illegally downloading House finale | Media | guardian.co.uk

Hugh Laurie's partner in crime back in England has admitted to illegally downloading the season finale via Bittorrent because he wasn't able to obtain a legal copy of the time. He admitted that this was the last thing that he downloaded illegally while he was in Indonesia.

Just a little fun tidbit, and I find the picture of Stephen Fry hunched over his computer while watching Both Sides Now kinda amusing.

Quite a few of the guest stars alternate between BL and House. But this one threw me. Alan Shore had a wife in The Practice who he adored. The only mention of her in BL is when he mentions he loved her for her insight and that she died.

Happy Birthday Hugh!!!!!!!

Where did this begin and how on earth did I miss it? I saw that it was #4 on Twitter's top Trending Topics and was like, *WTF?*. Anyone know more details?

Many thanks to your mod bigangry for allowing us to post about our little fan project in your community.

This has been pimped in various communities all over the House fandom and now we come to what is probably the biggest English speaking community on LJ.

Inspired by the stellar success of the rsl_bday_drive a handful of fans has again gathered together to initiate the hl_bday_drive - a charity drive to join the creative forces of different communities and fandoms around the actor Hugh Laurie for a good cause.
In raising money for Save the Children, we want to give the fans and ourselves the opportunity to celebrate Hugh Laurie´s 50th birthday on 11th June, 2009.
There are several ways to participate: by donating or by engaging creatively.

You can knit, record a video of yourself dancing, write a meta, make a fanvid, write a fanfic or a poem or an ode to Hugh´s chin if you must, draw pictures, make other graphics (to promote the drive or for others to put on their cafepress shirts - uh, I´d love to have some of those), record a podfic, code a webpage or journal layout, photomaipulate, create a fanmix, play a song on your guitar and offer it as a mp3. ANYTHING you can think of that other people would donate for. But please note, that this is not an auction and we won´t interfere or control what you and the donor agree upon. You make the rules.

Alison Graham, the Radio Times lady, is a big House fan and says that she hopes Hugh will be asked about Stephen Fry guest-starring on House - well done that woman XD

She also says that Sky1 have bought House and will be showing it starting next week, and that FIVE have dropped the show! That means that anyone without access to Sky1 (for which you have to pay) will be stuck. Oh well, the US DVD boxset is out soonish (August, I think) - goodness knows when we'll get a UK release.

ETA: Apparently Jonathan Ross has Twittered that Hugh's schedule has changed and he won't be able to make it after all, but looking at the Radio Times website it still has him listed as on the show. Aargh.

Is there anything the writers tend to overuse in House, MD?  Besides illnesses I mean (sarcoidosis, paraneoplastic syndrome, lupus being the big three).  I think they used the "I left them in my other pants" line twice.  I think I remember a few others, but it's late and I'm sleep deprived.

The one I'm really thinking of is patient names.  We've had probably a dozen Jeffs -- the dad from Cursed, the patient in Cycling Spin (dammit I'm tired), the virgin-baby's dad from Joy to the World... to name a few.  It seems to me like their goto name.  Also, the couple who both want to cut back on sex (forget the episode)'s woman was named Ramona, and Eugene Shwartz from BSN's wife's name was Mona.

Anything else the writers seem to recycle?

House is beginning in the UK on 31st May! YAY!

As many of us will be watching or re-watching the series on Sky 1, and would like to have people to squee about it with, I am considering starting a community for those of us in the UK watching House S5.

What do people think?

I'm new to the community.

Just got into House from sitting with my mom about a month ago and watching the mini-marathons of House that USA has every night. 

I just got an iTunes gift card for $15, and I want to buy some good House episodes - can anyone recommend their faves for me to download? 

I'm a fan of the House/Wilson dynamic (No, I'm not slashy.) And basically if there's any tender House, that would be nice too. 

Just downloaded Needle In A Haystack, and that's all I got so far.

I'm looking for a graphic I saw a while ago. It was just House's head and all these rainbow colours coming out of it and said "Treat for sarcoidosis. Do an MRI" like LOLcat style.

Does anyone have this or know where to grab it?

Just wondering about a certain song used in the last scene of episode The Social Contract. I found out that it's The Shining by Badly Drawn Boy, and I am certain that I've heard it before. Have they used it in another episode of House, or in another TV show or movie that anyone knows of?

I thought I had another month on the domain, and I got a message stating it expires TODAY. Well, their renewal server is down. The server was up, but they'd done a DNS swap. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth later, I got the renewal through.

But hey, this is a non- swine flue panic attack! Small favors. (A school near us shut down today, and my son came home from school with the news that the community college he attends may shut down for two weeks. I need a HOUSE call. Seriously.)

I'm trying to download everything on this list. Or am I just wasting my time because somebody else already finished downloading them all and compiled them in one wonderful zip file? Do tell me.

For those of you who don't know, Kal Penn was in a little film called The Namesake in 2006. It's the story of a name, of the family behind the name and of the amazing journey that one family take from India to America and back again. Most people seem to disregard it as a low-budget, fairly insignificant production but it completely captured my heart and made me squee.

For those of you who are Kal Penn fans out there, his character isn't that far away from Kutner. Also, we get partial nudity, sexings, kissing, crying, sobbing, anger, joy and marriage and divorce. He's an amazing actor with a completely expressive face.

I've been looking around on Ebay for seasons 1 and 4 of House (because I already have 2 and 3). Now, I've found a good auction for season 1 which claims its real deal, but it says it only comes with 3 discs. I've seen a few others around which also only list a 3-disc set, and some that list a 6-disc set. I'm inclined to trust in the 6-disc sets, seeing as how season 2 and 3 were five- and six-disc sets, so six for season 1 sounds reasonable. Can anyone tell me if the general season 1 set comes with three or six discs so I don't get gyped?

Target has House DVDs on sale between April 19-25 -- I just got all four seasons for 70 bucks (plus tax).

Is there any episodes of House dubbed in Japanese? Or an episode where he speaks Japanese? I know that House decided to be a doctor in Japan, so there's got to be at least one. I need it to pass Japanese, we have to watch our favorite TV shows in Japanese.
EDIT: Okay, they exist. Now I can be happy when I move (seriously, I almost considered not moving to Japan because they wouldn't have House). Now where can I buy a box set? Since it's 4th quarter, we do nothing but watch Japanese videos.
