Questions, Suggestion & anything else
It's always useful to have such a post to keep things clean, right?
If you have any question, whatever the occasion might be, please leave a comment here.
My experience is anything to count on, HTML coding gets severely screwed up when posting through e-mail, so if I just attached the document and have you read through the MWord document for the format yourself, would that amount to the same thing?
Yes, please do attach the word-doc to the email and don't paste your entry into the body of the mail. Otherwise it will get screwed up along the way.
What are the rules in relation to shipping?
Unless there is a specific regulation, the writer can write whatever he/she wants. The first round will focus on themes, so the 'ship is up to the writer.
I'll try and check what the voter's ships are to get a little bit of a tendency. Maybe I'm naive but it's kind of the only way, I guess.
Who gets to vote? Only the participants? Community members? Anyone who drops in? Will it be closed-ballot/anonymous or otherwise?
Everybody get's to vote. In that way, it's working just like the last icon maker standing episodes.
I will post a poll along with the entries.
Anonymous voting won't count though.
I was wondering if there is a skill level to this competition? I'm interested in signing up but I'm not the best writer in the world. are we allowed to have betas in this comp?
No, there is no required skill level or anything. I'm not really a fan of elitist communities. So you feel like it, sign up. Your call :D
Of course you're allowed to have a beta. There it no need for it, that's up to you. If your beta can return your fic in time, totally cool.
Are we allowed to have a beta?
By all means. If your beta is able to return your fic in time for submission, of course you can have it beta-read. It's not required though. If you can make sure that your sentences make sense and there are no major glitches, it's totally up to you.
Do notes, headers etc go into the word count?
No, they don't. Just the plain fic counts.
Do I need to include a header?
No, it's not required.
The only thing I ask for is a warning when your fic contains material rated R and up. That's all.
Can we give feedback to the fics we like?
Yes, you can. It's highly appreciated. Leave a comment to the voting post with the resembling entry number. As for now, the comments are screened but once the voting is over, I'll figure out how to make sure the author gets it.
