RULES FOR HOUSE CHALLENGE

[001] You must be a member to participate in the challenges (non-member commenting is disabled). Only mods and banner makers will have posting access, but members are able to comment on all posts... If you're not sure how to join, click here.
[002] Challenges will be posted on Monday and entries will be accepted until the following Monday @ 10pm; Eastern Standard Time. [To see the current time in EST, click here.] The poll will be posted shortly after the deadline.
[003] You may enter up to 3 icons per challenge.
[004] All icons must be within LJ limits: Under 40kb in size and 100x100 (pixels) maximum in dimension. Your file format must be either PNG, GIF or JPG.
[005] Icons may have various text, blends, textures, gradients, brushes, borders, etc. unless specified otherwise in the challenge post. However, icons may not be made from someone else's base... ever.
[006] Do not post your icon anywhere until the challenge voting has commenced and the winners are announced... This means you must make a new icon for the challenge and no old ones can be used... After the challenge is over and the results are posted, feel free to to do whatever you like with your icons. If you see an icon you like but don't know who to credit, just ask and we'll point you in the right direction.
[007] Please keep your voting honest! Do not send people to vote for your icons or you will be disqualified. Also, please do not vote for yourself unless you truly feel your icon is the best! This is not a popularity contest!
[008] Submit your icon(s) as a comment to the current challenge post. Comment with both the image itself and the url. To provide anonymity, these comments will be screened.
[009] The awards given will be 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Mod's Choice. However, if there are 10 or less entries, only a 1st place and Mod's Choice will be awarded.
[010] The mods are allowed to enter the challenges. However, they have absolutely no advantage over you; Everything is annonymous, so they get treated as if they were any other member in a challenge... However, mods are not eligible for the mod's choice award.
