Just to give everyone an idea of who's staying (hopefully), who left and who came back (BABIES). So far, we've lost more than what we've gained, in numbers. The list (which is very Ruby-like, except messier and not as awesome) will probably be updated for pre-season. I apologise for the weird resizing of pictures and for the side-comments/mistakes that will surely occur. You can always check Milan's official squad list, but it hasn't been updated (with the fate of the rest). And so...

Yeah, see, I was going to post a picture of a flailing Galliani, but then this came up -- a young Galliani. Was there ever such a thing? It seems so... as frightening as it sounds, my friends. So, yeah -- who you be buyin'/sellin', Mister? No really, there's a list behind this! Not a Galliani post )

☇ There are so many rumours out there, most recently concerning Pirlo. And, really, I can't cope with any news concerning Pirlo, whether it was an exchange for two players or simply selling him for "lots of money that Milan needs". Berlusconi doesn't want to. As a matter of fact, he really really doesn't want to, but then -- they showed him the money and, you know, Pirlo is replaceable. Galliani talks about replacements, then claims that Pirlo is not going anywhere. "We have Ronaldinho! He'll have a great year," they say. Ronaldinho.

☇ Oh we're buying everyone out there, we are. Basically: Chelsea is getting everyone we have (wonder why) and we're getting everyone we've been stalking... for the past three years, or something. Names like Adebayor and Mexes are still being said. I know, we're so much fun ;)

We still want Dzeko as a striker. Because Pato is following Ancelotti (but this is old news) -- it seems like everyone is following him, I'm not sure if we'll even manage to have 11 players by the end of this summer.

☇ I can't find anything concerning our babies that are out to make space on loan. Are we getting anyone back? Well, minus Paloschi.

☇ And, I can't help but feel for Lippi. Out of the three players representing Milan in the Italian team, only one managed to help (or so thinks the Italian media). He thinks that if Pirlo leaves, it won't change anything for the national team, but "although for the Italian league it looks like a lowering of the technical standard." And of course Blatter is wondering if the Azzurri is ever going to make it to the World Cup. I-I can't even, what.

☇ Anyway, the sole purpose of this post (oh yes, the news was just an add-on!) was this amazing video. Read more )

I was beginning to wonder if he was trying to get away with not having this *grins*, but Paolo finally had his last ever press conference *gulp* for Milan today and apparently it was fairly emotional...

Details in Italian from the AC Milan site
And details in English, also from club site

Would someone who speaks both Italian and English be kind enough to translate for those of us who don't speak Italian - as ever Google translate is not up to the task! No need, the site has been quick for once in getting the English translation up!

Grazie!

It's official now: Kaká is a Real Madrid player.

It's been announced by both AC Milan and Real Madrid websites. None of them state how much was the fee, it's been speculated to be between 56-65 million.
I'm not a Milan supporter, but I've always had a soft spot for the club and thought Kaká was going to retire at San Siro. How wrong was I. It makes me really sad to see what B&G have done to Kaká, cause it's plain obvious by now that he's been forced out for the money.

Anyway, it's been a pleasure to watch you playing in Serie A Ricky, you've really became a world class player in Milan and I'm sure the fans will always have you in their hearts. You're Jesus boy, after all. Thank you for everything and I wish you all the best playing for Real Madrid.

Finally, this day sucks. Bad.

So, it looks as though the Ricky thing is going ahead - despite all the smokescreening, and the delays, and everything; the photos of his medical seem pretty conclusive. Apparently, he has scheduled a press conference for 11pm - although, I doubt that there will be much of a surprise in its content. :( I hate how this has been handled, and I hate to see him go: but, if it is his decision, his choice to leave, then I respect that, and wish him and his family all the best.

The big question, then, is who do we get to replace him? There are (unsurprisingly: this is Milan, after all!) conflicting reports. On the one hand, Berulusconi says he will be pocketing the cash there is no need for a replacement, for we have (wait for it) Ron. On the other hand, the papers are having a field day making up suggesting targets. Take your pick from Nemanja Vidic (wait, isn't he a defender?), Emmanuel Adebayor (again), Cesc Fabregas (what is it with us and Arses?), Juan Albin (about whom I know nothing), Cristiano Ronaldo (*chokes with laughter*), and Edin Dzeko. (I actually really do like the sound of this one; he was brilliant at Wolfsburg this year, he's young and exciting, and a little bit stroppy.) If it's any consolation, though, Clarence's agent says he is going nowhere. So, that's all right, then.

Aside from all the transfer heartache, there has actually been other news:
  • Daniele Bonera (remember him?) has extended his contract until 2013. He is very happy.
  • We may be getting a new sponsor. Emirates airlines are interested. Does that mean the San Siro will be renamed the Emirates San Siro? *g*
  • Berlusconi says the reason there was no silverware was because we didn't use his tactics. Is this man for real? Don't answer that question.
  • Mass thinks he has a 50% chance of staying next year. This is the Mass who won Rafael Honigstein's award for worst transfer of the year. *big sad face*
  • Will Senderos stay? Um, with the greatest respect, does anyone care? *pats Phil's shiny head*
  • Papa Capz has been refuting Lotti's claims that he is a misery guts, and got pinned to the wall. Is it terribly bad of me to he hoping for some elderly, coaching handbags?
  • Speaking of Lotti, apparently he used to ride a bike. Less sniggering at the back, there, plz.
  • Finally, my old man Billy Costacurta has been judging a cooking competition. Some people will do anything to get in the papers. ;)
