So, it looks as though the
Ricky thing is going ahead - despite all the smokescreening, and the delays, and everything; the
photos of his
medical seem pretty conclusive. Apparently, he has scheduled a
press conference for 11pm - although, I doubt that there will be much of a surprise in its content. :( I hate how this has been handled, and I hate to see him go: but, if it is his decision, his choice to leave, then I respect that, and wish him and his family all the best.
The big question, then, is who do we get to replace him? There are (unsurprisingly: this is Milan, after all!) conflicting reports. On the one hand, Berulusconi says
he will be pocketing the cash there is no need for a replacement, for
we have (wait for it) Ron. On the other hand, the papers are having a
field day making up suggesting targets. Take your pick from
Nemanja Vidic (wait, isn't he a defender?),
Emmanuel Adebayor (
again),
Cesc Fabregas (what
is it with us and Arses?),
Juan Albin (about whom I know nothing),
Cristiano Ronaldo (*chokes with laughter*), and
Edin Dzeko. (I actually really do like the sound of this one; he was brilliant at Wolfsburg this year, he's young and exciting, and a little bit stroppy.) If it's any consolation, though,
Clarence's agent says he is
going nowhere. So, that's all right, then.
Aside from all the transfer heartache, there has actually been other news:
Daniele Bonera (remember him?) has extended his contract until 2013. He is very happy.
We may be getting a new sponsor. Emirates airlines are interested. Does that mean the San Siro will be renamed the Emirates San Siro? *g*
Berlusconi says the reason there was no silverware was because we didn't use his tactics. Is this man for real? Don't answer that question.
Mass thinks he has a 50% chance of staying next year. This is the Mass who won Rafael Honigstein's award for worst transfer of the year. *big sad face*
Will Senderos stay? Um, with the greatest respect, does anyone care? *pats Phil's shiny head*
Papa Capz has been refuting Lotti's claims that he is a misery guts, and got pinned to the wall. Is it terribly bad of me to he hoping for some elderly, coaching handbags?
Speaking of Lotti, apparently he used to ride a bike. Less sniggering at the back, there, plz.
Finally, my old man Billy Costacurta has been judging a cooking competition. Some people will do anything to get in the papers. ;)
