AboutWhat is Hot Fatshion?
It's a place for fat people who like to dress to impress, dress to the nines, who like to look good, feel sexy, enjoy fashion trends, and who want to help others look their hottest.
What isn't Hot Fatshion?
A safe space, a primarily political or activism community (though we understand that when discussing fashion that these topics may come up and that's okay), a snark community, a rating community or a place for weight loss or health discussions.
Rules:
1. This is strictly a fashion community. It was created as a place to "just talk about clothes," because wonderful as many other fatshion related communities are, we don't want to clutter their pages with items best left to strict fashion discussion.
2. We thrive on constructive criticism. Unfortunately being fashionable means on some level conforming to an accepted aesthetic. On the bright side, there are so many ways to be fashionable, and the point of this community is helping you figure out how to make current and timeless fashion work for you. Remember, we often use tough love, so don't be surprised or hurt. We don't want to sugarcoat anything because it wouldn't do you any favors.
3. This is not to be mistaken for bitchiness. Criticism is very welcome, but remember that we're here to help each other look better. It's not an excuse to be cruel or snarky, and if you're going to just be honest and say you hate something (which is fine), you better be ready to offer suggestions on what would be better.
4. We also don't tolerate personal attacks. Keep the criticism to the clothes, not the people in them. Ripping on someone's body type, shape, size, sexual orientation, interests or lifestyle won't be tolerated. It's just not necessary. Also, drawing any negative conclusions about who someone is as a person based on their clothes is not permitted whatsoever. Someone might "dress like a slut," but that doesn't mean she is one.
5. Lighten up, it's just fashion. No one is immune to someone remarking on how they could improve the outfit, to people saying that you would look good with x hair or makeup, to someone telling you that they really hate those shoes. Differing tastes in clothes clashing with one another is no reflection on the people involved, so don't let a skirt or shirt come between you.
What's allowed here:
-pictures of outfits
-pictures of items you bought
-photos of your daily makeup
-photos of you in or with accessories (use discretion please, I don't want to see just a bag on a table as the only thing in your post. Try to post an outfit with it if you can.)
-hair styles or new cuts
-reviews of any of the above
-questions (what to wear, how do I wear this, where can I find that, etc.)
-articles or photos from fashion shoots, of favorite models or new designer lines
-sharing info about fashion related local events
-rants (remember, keep it to the clothing and not the people) about clothing trends or fat fashion issues that bug the hell out of you
-STAYING TOPICAL (if you have to ask if this is fat fashion related then it probably isn't.)
What this isn't the place for:
-sales posts (not totally decided on this yet, I want us all to decide)
-community promotion
-trolling (trust me, I know it when I see it)
-spam of any kind
General posting guidelines:
-If posting pictures a smaller photo that doesn't mess up the layout is fine without a cut. Anything bigger or additional photos thereafter need to be under a cut.
-No crazy outsized or colored fonts.
-No comment freezing or deletion, and posts with comments disabled are not permitted.
Why was my post rejected?
-most often because of broken html. I'm reluctant to let people post stuff with the intent of fixing the html or anything else after the fact.
-pictures aren't cut
-pictures/links referred to are incomplete or missing
-(rarely) the question was too vague or repetitive, and then I'll give you suggestions on how to improve it to more directly get the kind of answers you're looking for
