| About: | Welcome to The Haunted Bookcase, a horror book club. Every month we will read a different book and discuss it. Books will be nominated by the members and then voted on. Once a book has been chosen, there will be a month to obtain the book before we start reading it. There is a schedule posted below. I would like there to be at least three choices to vote on. If there are not three nominees, I will pick enough other books to bring the list up to three. Those books will probably be whatever happens to be on my shelves at the time. As far what kind of books you can nominate, it has to be horror. That's all. It can be a children's book, young adult book, adult book, graphic novel, whatever. If you have a book you'd like to nominate and aren't sure if it qualifies as horror, ask. If you can give a good reason as to why it should be considered horror, it's in. I would prefer that we try to stay on topic and not have a lot of extra unrelated posts, but unless it gets out of hand, I'll allow it. Just keep the posts horror related. I'd rather have an active, somewhat off-topic community, than an inactive, on-topic one. When nominating a book, please try to use the following format. Title: Author: Publisher: Published: Brief Plot Synopsis: Why Chose This Book: Anything Else You Think We Should Know About It: Of the above list, the only two absolutely required are the title and author, giving a plot synopsis is highly recommended, and the rest would be nice to have, but I'm not going to get annoyed if it's not there. A note on "Why Chose This Book", give real reasons here, not "because I said so". General Rules: Be polite. Use proper English, no netspeak. Be respectful. No advertising of anything not horror related. Anything horror related has to go through me first. Email me about it. Anything that hasn't been cleared by me first will be deleted.
