Horror Icons, the first & best Horror genre graphic community!

Horror Icons was created by holyhour in January of 2004. Over the past 5 years the community has provided excellent icons and graphics from many talented designers. With no sign of stopping, Horror Icons is here to contrast the happy, colorful and popular icons that flood Livejournal. If you're here to post your graphics or find an icon from your favorite vintage slasher flick, take a minute to read through the rules.

This community is currently run, owned and moderated by holyhour. If you're interested in becoming a mod, you must be a member, you must have mod experience and you must be active. Holyhour can be reached at holyhour@gmail.com.

Survival Guide;

Rule 1: Unless the poster/maker has requested otherwise, assume you must credit/comment what you take.

Rule 2: If you going to post more then 5 icons, use a lj cut! Don’t know how? Simply put <lj-cut> blah blah blah text here </lj-cut>. Failure to use a cut can result in post removal.

Rule 3: Drama, flaming, trolling, etc will be deleted on the spot. Repeated acts of stupidity will result in a ban from this community.

Rule 4: Don't post non-horror icons. That's a pretty easy rule.

Rule 5: All NSFW [not safe for work] icons must be behind an LJ-cut. This includes direct gore, nudity or otherwise R-rated content. You will be asked to edit your post, if you do not it will be removed.

Rule 6: NO PROMOTING. No exceptions. Go to

community_promo or somewhere else with that. Your post will be deleted.

Rule 7: No fake LJ-cuts.. Meaning, no putting up two icons then linking back to your journal/community. That is a form of promotion and is not allowed, any post with such will be removed. Update: You will no longer be informed of your post's removal. Repeated promotion will result in a ban or removal of posting privileges.

Rule 8: Horror Icons is a icon-only community.

Rule 9: Requests are allowed, however do not expect them to be filled. Request posts will be removed after a week, regardless of if the request was filled or not.
