This story by ellisk starts with the first Battle of Beleriand and follows a young Oropher and eventually Thranduil as Sindarin lords in Thingol's court. Very good characterisation and concern for canon, and plenty of gap-filler scenes - I especially liked the elves' reaction to the rise of the moon and sun. WIP - it's through the second chapter so far.

I've finally got around to updating this community - shortly after I started it, I went on vacation and then had a sick cat and was very busy at work. Hopefully, I can make it more useful to fans of our favourite elves.
