HOH has a HUGE show coming up this week guys - at the Brookhaven Amphitheater in Long Island, NY. Pile all your friends into your mom's minivan mexican style for 15 bucks and come see your favorite unconventional conventionists this friday!!

Back by popular demand…... the largest showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show EVER.

This is not your average Rocky Horror Presentation. Of course the film is being played on a giant screen, like any other movie. The difference is the cast of actors that perform in front of the screen for the duration of the movie, adding to, and shadowing the action. Although their performance mimics the movie, they add so much more with their performance. Players flood the audience during “The Time Warp” and pull people up out of their seats to participate and the lead character literally performs one of his scenes in an audience members lap. To the left of you, someone is swearing at the main characters that appear on screen, and behind you someone is throwing toast and rice over your head. And all of this is outdoors, Under the Stars.

Come dressed as your favorite Rocky Horror character… for the “Best Costume Contest”.

“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” makes you a part of the show. It’s a show that everyone needs to see once to understand, and once more to be completely addicted... Don't miss it!!

If anyone is interested in helping out at the Brookhaven Amphitheatre Show we are looking for people who are really good with yelling lines and working with the audience to be Transylvanians. The show is on Friday, August 15th in Long Island. We've broken the attendance record for Rocky Horror previously and we hope to do it again. Drop me an email if you can help out and are interested.

HOH takes over TRIBECA CINEMAS in NYC - TONIGHT!!

The Home of Happiness was asked to put on a show at Tribeca Cinemas tonight, Friday the 13th (ooooo scary!!!).

The venue is the famed location of the famous "Tribeca Film Festival" and conveniently is a movie theatre thats attatched to a bar.

The show is a fundraiser for the NYC Horror Film Festival. We performed there once before in 2005 and they've been trying to arrange to have us back ever since. The show then was legendary and the show now will be twice as legendary!! (DOUBLE THE LEGEND! DOUBLE THE FUN!)

Tickets are $10.00, show starts at 11:00pm. Be there!

In honor of April Fool's Day, the Home of Happiness is switching things up on you this weekend!!

Come on down to the lovely Bellevue Cinema in Montclair, NJ TONIGHT at MIDNIGHT for the thrills and chills you need, and that only HOH can provide. We've got some unconventional casting this week and it's sure to be a great show, so grab your fishnets and head out to Montclair!

TOMORROW night at MIDNIGHT at the Clearview Cinema 5 in Bergenfield, NJ, we're back for HAT PICK NIGHT!
That means, you guessed it, our VIRGINS for the night will be choosing our roles for us out of a hat. Will Larry play Columbia? Will Dante play Magenta? Will Dani play Frank? We won't know until we're onstage. It's sure to bring you Absolute Pleasure (And absolute laughter!) beyond any measure, so get yourself out to Bergenfield TOMORROW NIGHT when hilarity ensues at the Home of Happiness.

Well, in the aftermath of a good ol' flame war, I think I'll lighten the mood with an AdLib. So write down some words, then click on the lj cut, and post your results. ^_^

Your guys last show was lackluster at best! I didn't see a single monkey in the whole show! If there isn't an adequate amount of monkey poo being flung about, I go away feeling unsatisfied. You guys suck.

As you may (or may not) know, the Home of Happiness has been very busy planning our upcoming sets of sensual daydreams (and erotic nightmares!) to thrill you, chill you, and fulfill you.

IT'S ROCKY HORROR TONIGHT!!

That's right boys and girls.. Tonight is another round of lovely girls in lingere and lovely boys in, well... lingere.

I'm taking my boyfriend for his birthday on Friday (February 1st) for both of our first times to see Rocky Horror in Montclair. It IS at midnight, right? And how long does it run?

It's a surprise, he has no idea what to expect. The lady that works for the theater just told me it's never a sold out show. I'm just hoping the energy will be amazing. He has never seen any type of theatrical production of ANYTHING so I just really want it to be a great time. It should be, correct?

On the last Saturday of January, 1998 I was dragged into a movie theater in Teaneck where I walked in on a showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show right at the beginning of the Time Warp. Only later did I understand how fitting that was.

That night was also the same night Liz played Rocky for the first time, Mannix broke his ankle playing Frank, and Jess Ceres (one of the cast founders for all you n00bs) found out about the Darress Theater in Boonton from a geeky punk kid looking to pick up the pretty lady in the shiny sequin jacket... But, those are stories for another time.

Come to the Bergenfield show this weekend to help me celebrate what can probably be called the most important moment of my life and watch my geriatric 27 year old self perform Riff Raff for the eleventy-billionth time ever!

The Home of Happiness started the year off with a bang at our first Bergenfield Show of 2008.

As a still-quite-new cast member, I still remember my first time coming to a show, being blown away by the energy of the cast as well as the audience as a whole, and returning week after week knowing I wouldn't be let down. It was an amazing feeling to be on the other side of things, and feel that energy tenfold this Saturday.

The cast, put simply, kicked ass - but the audience that night was beyond awesome. We had somewhat of a do-over of our costume contest, and thanks to the cooperation of the weather this week, I was delighted to see people lining up in drag! Those lovely earthlings received free prop bags, which were of course put to great use throughout the show. They really got into it this week, definitely the most pumped crowd since I started as a cast member.

We started the night as usual by deflowering our virgins while the veterans, including our awesome new Bergenfield regulars, cheered them on. The cheering only grew throughout the show. The reporter from the Bergen Record was very much impressed, and rumor has it he plans to come back next week just to watch the show! The article comes out next week, along with a highlight on their website, www.northjersey.com.

The main cast was wonderful as always, and the incorporation of five screen-accurate transies filled out the theater and added even more to the feel of the film and the energy of the crowd. Everyone was shouting lines, dancing, singing, and just overall having an awesome time.

We look forward to more awesome shows (and kickass audiences) to come. As always, dress in a Rocky Horror costume and receive a free prop bag.

The Home of Happiness is looking for fresh meat. With an average of six shows a month, new cast members are in demand. We are accepting applications for all roles, with particular interest in those desiring to perform the roles of Rocky, Trixie, and Transylvanian. Those best suited to join cast are people who are willing to demonstrate a dedication to cast and a dedication to having a good time. Theatre, technical and/or costume construction experience a plus. Those desiring a main performance role should have stage presence, a passable resemblence to the character and willingness to aquire a screen-accurate costume. You also must be 18 years or older.
