Wishes this year

1. Money. I don't even care how much. I'm making approximately $300/pay period (every two weeks) and it's not enough to pay the bills. Especially since my insurance is going to cost about that, as soon as they get around to sending me a bill.

2. A Repo Man Scalpel Necklace.

3. A job. Preferably in Elder Care. Activities assistant, anyone?

4. A Lush gift card or three.

5. An apartment. Paid for. Somewhere in the local Prairie Village/Overland Park/Midtown/Downtown area of Kansas City. Even WyCo. I'll take it. Living with grandma is not going well.

6. Handmade pieces of art. Photos, paintings, sculptures, things you knitted or crocheted, whatever.

7. Either this hoodie in XXL or this one in XL.

8. Handmade jewelry. I love handmade jewelry. I have big wrists and a kind of big neck, so if you're used to making stuff for skinny people with smaller features than me, just make it about an inch or so bigger.

9. Copies (non-bootleg) of Battle Royale and Battle Royale II: Requiem. They can be any region, prefer region 1 or 2 (however, my DVD player is super powered and can play just about anywhere), I just . . . they got lost in the move home from England and I MISS them.

10. Anything from here: My Amazon.com Wish List

Sorry about the cut stuff and the rules, I wasn't exactly paying attention when I cross-posted.

Hi there!

There's no need to post the rules of the meme on your entry, as it's mentioned many places throughout the community, so you can remove them if you'd like.

Also, because some people use the Ctrl+F option to find items while surfing the community, it's actually better if you don't put your list under an LJ-cut. Just a suggestion.

Don't forget to tag your list!

I can't help you get a job, per se, but I can throw you some info! My otherhalf works in pharmacy, and he knows most of the adult care and elder care homes in the area. Almost all of them are hiring at one point or another- the turnover is high, but the pay is good and those who stick it out quickly become friends with co-workers, and do very well. Unfortunately "around here" is the Seattle area- mostly the suburbs like Edmonds, Everett, Shoreline... it's an expensive place to live. :( If you have to move for a career in elder care, this is a great place to get a job- from the big retirement homes to the smaller care homes, or private work.
