My name is Angie and I'm a 23 year old girl living in Salt Lake City. I love meeting new people and becoming involved in new things! I'm excited to be a part of this!

1. Boots. I want some boots that go higher on my calf and have a bit of a lift to them. Either a heel or a wedge (both are adorable!) but they have to be the wide calf boots or boots that tie in the front so they'll fit over my calves, which are a little larger than the average boot allows for. I wear around a size 9... Give or take a half a size in some shoes...

2. Cute corsets and sundresses. Usually empire waist looks better on me, and I'm a bigger girl. I'd like a variety of corsets and sundresses or cute skirts and dress wear.

3. Tights. I really want some tights fit for a bigger girl. I did manage to find one pair, and a website that sells them, but I can't find any warmer winter tights to wear under my little dresses and I wish so much to find some! Like the cute knit ones. (I love knee high socks too! I'd settle for some of them probably!)

4. A sewing machine. I wish so badly that I could have a sewing machine. I want to start sewing things, and my grandmother's recently quit. I miss being able to put stuff together like that!

5. A digital camera. Mine bit the dust the other day, and I've been sad ever since. I'd be happy with a camera that takes decent digital pictures. I'm going to have to borrow one for the holiday season...

6. Books! I love books... I love filling my shelves with books, especially old ones. I'm also always looking for new and interesting reads!

7. Movie out-of-stock cards. This is an odd one, but recently a local Blockbuster went out of business and they were selling the rental cards they use when a movie is out of stock, or when they'll be getting one in. I bought a bunch to hang on the walls (Anything from old Disney movies to new movies that I love, and especially classics like Miracle on 34th street!) around the TV in the living room. I love the idea, and I want more to put up but can't find them online! In which case, cool movie posters could work too... Movie memorabilia really.

8. Those journals that I'm in love with by Paperblanks. They sell them at Barnes & Nobles too. You can see my blog about them here. The ones I want the most are the Edgar Allan Poe, Charlotte Bronte, and Van Goh. (Poe is the one I'm drooling over the most though, honestly.)

9. Picture frames. I'd love some new frames (Especially the multiple photo ones) to hang on my walls!

10. Gift Certificates for photo prints! I'd love to print out some of my digital photos to frame and put on the wall!

Thanks to anyone who thinks of anything! I'll try and do the same for you! :)

Email me if you'd like to help fulfill any of my wishes! I can give you information that you need and my address etc. :)

I don't want a lot for Christmas...

  • Nov. 28th, 2009 at 12:26 AM
Howdy all. My name is Danielle, and I'm a Psych major to-be at Penn State. This Christmas is my first on my own (well, my boyfriend and I) and I would love to have some christmas cards to decorate our apartment with. So my only wish is this:

Christmas/Holiday Cards That's all I ask for. When I was little we used to hang them up all over the house, and I would really love for that to continue now that I'm living in an apartment. Just put my address with your list of people to send christmas cards, and you will make me a very happy girl. All I ask is that maybe you include something personal, a little message, a recipe, a photo... whatever strikes your fancy. :) I will send cards back to anyone that sends one to us.

Address is here )

Happy Holidays, everyone.

Hi there! I particpated a few years back in the wishing but have regularly tried to pop in and grant wishes which is oh so fun. I am a 36 year old married mom of two beautiful daughters. Katie, my oldest is 17 and Brittany, my youngest is 10, they both have special needs but are really really awesome kids. While Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year, the magic of the winter holidays have always brought really wonderful memories for me and I just adore seeing my kiddos smile when they rip open their gifts on Christmas morning :) That said, a lot of my wishlist will be for them, I hope you don't mind :)

The Wishes

1. Anything from either of my daughters amazon wishlists. Im linking my 17 year olds list as there is only one list allowed on this. Katies list is here Used is fine on anything and totally ignore the expensive stuff. My 17 year old put her own wishlist together so it has some lol things on it.

2. Both of my children have an Autism Spectrum Disorder, a donation to the Autism Society of America would be incredibly awesome. Dayton Ohio's chapter is here and the direct donation page to the national organization is here.

3. Rainbow Striped Knee high socks for my teenager. Red/Black, Blue/Black, Grey/Black, Pink/Black and Pink/White colored stripes as well.

4. A few pairs of Pajamas (top and pant fleece style if possible), size 14 girls, for my youngest daughter. She loves spongebob, iCarly, blues clues, my little pony, and carebears the colors blue and pink and anything girly and cute on them.

5. Extra Long Fleece scarves for my teenager. Darker colors, preference to black, blue, dark purples. She only will wear fleece for some reason, silly kid.

6. Smelly Bath and Perfumy stuff! Am really into Cocoa Pink's Ends With Benefits in pretty much any kind of Bakery or marshmallowy scent lol and I absolutely adore BPAL's foody scents. You can contact me for a list of scents that I like the most.

7. Gift Certificates to Target, Kohls or Hot Topic for some new clothes for the teenager (the little one is taken care of with hand-me-downs and bargain hunting. The teenager is a little pickier lol

8. New friends would be cool too. Always love meeting new people who might share some things in common with me. Check out my profile for my interests and this post as well. If you do end up on my friends list, I have two opt in filters, my kids filter and my smellies filter. If you want on either one, do let me know.

9. Holiday Cards! Addressed to the kids would be fun!

Contact info:
My contact information can be obtained by emailing me at dawna at livejournal.com or by PMing me through LJ. Either way is fine.

Happy Holidays everyone!

This is my 4th or 5th year of granting wishes in this community! I look forward to it every year! :) Now, onto a very short bio about myself-- my name's Casey, 28 years old, living in Conroe, Texas. :D

1) Holiday cards: I love love love receiving cards in the mail!

2) Postcards: I also love receiving postcards from around the world. They can be views of the place where you live or maybe your favorite vacation spot.

3) Mix CD's/MP3's: I've been introduced to some GREAT music over the years because of these mix cd's! They're my absolute favorite gift. Either a cd in the mail or an mp3 mix download is fine by me.

4) Used books: Historical fiction and chick lit are my favorite reads. If you have some unwanted books taking up room on your shelves, send 'em my way.

5) Sunglasses: I have a bit of an addiction to sunglasses, I must admit. You can never have too many pairs!

6) Cat toys: We have 5 kittens who LOVE to play! They're very hyper and adorable. They're outdoor kitties, so any toys that can hold up to outdoor weather would be much appreciated.

7) Stickers: self-explanatory on this one. Stickers are awesome.

8) Bath & Body Works lotion: Japanese Cherry Blossom is my favorite scent, but I pretty much love them all.

9) New LJ Icons: I'm always in the need of new icons and mine are stuck in a bit of a rut at the moment. Take a look at my interests for inspiration, if need be.

10) Surprise in an Envelope: Be it a letter, a picture, a bookmark, whatever! I love random things.

Have a fabulous holiday season, everyone! :D

1. I would really like some boy clothes. So much of my wardrobe is very, very girly and I'd love some looser hoodies and tee shirts and plaid button downs and that kind of thing. My size in guys is a small or a medium or whatever would fit DD boobs.

2. Books. Books books books. I will read anything and everything that you want to send to me and format doesn't matter. I'd love physical copies or eBooks or .pdfs or anything. The library on my campus is a research library, so I don't get to read very much fiction.

3. Yarn. I'm a knitter and I'm trying to make hats for as many people in my life as possible. I'd love anything you've got, even if it's just a few yards leftover from a project. My goal for next year is to make myself a blanket and if I could make it a crazy patchwork of yarn from everywhere that would be so cool.

4. Anything with robots or dinosaurs. Yes, yes, I am totally that geek, but man, I love robots and dinosaurs. Art that I could hang on my dorm wall would be totally cool, or action figures or anything. If you had something with a robot dinosaur, I would probably die of glee.

5. Interesting things to hang up in my dorm! I have to move where I live every year 'cause I'm still at school and my walls always look so bare and boring and pathetic. If you had any posters you don't want anymore or postcards or anything I can stick up with a tack, that would be awesome.

6. I have an unhealthy amount of love for journals and stationary. For a long time I've been wanting a journal with prompts and things to write about inside it. I love reading things in other people's handwriting and seeing their thoughts. Also, pens.

7. 2g plugs! My ears have finally settled down from the stretch up to 2g and I have so very few plugs that fit. Any style and any size would be A++ amounts of AMAZING.

8. Trans!fic. I know, I know, but it's something I don't think I could write for a lot of reasons, but I love reading it. Panic is my band of choice, but I don't care if it's Spencer or Brendon or MtF or FtM, just so long as it's well written and honest and remembers that being trans doesn't mean you can't end up happy in the end and along the way.

9. Okay, this is going to be the unreasonable wish. I'd really, really love for my aunt to get a job. She works in mortgages and she's been fired and hired and fired and hired and things are really, really tight for her right now. I want my mom to be happy and my sisters to be okay. I want this next year to be better.

10. I want you to go find someone you love and give them a hug and tell them how much they mean to you.

Merry Very Early Christmas!

  • Nov. 27th, 2009 at 5:24 PM
Hello people!

Well, it's already been a year. How crazy is that?

My name's Miranda and I'm 18 (turning 19 on December 28th!).

Over the summer, my family and I purchased our very first house in New York. It's awesome, but it needs a LOT of work (aesthetically-speaking) and we've put most of what we have into buying it and renovating the living room. We've been told to keep our Christmas lists short this year, which has been surprisingly easy, but, obviously, as time goes on, there's more that I want, lol.

So here goes...

1. Lady Gaga merch.
I recently fell in love with Lady Gaga and I just think she's so awesome, but her merch (t-shirts, sunglasses, etc.) is pretty pricey. :(

2. A contractor, particularly knowledgable in kitchens.
My mom is the chef in our family and her biggest wish is to turn the ugly kitchen we have into the kitchen of her dreams. One of the problems to that is that she's not quite sure how to go about it. A contractor would be very helpful for this endeavor (we live in up-state New York, so someone regional would be awesome, of course).

3. Art.
My dad AND brother are artists but they never draw me anything (even when I bribe them with gum, lol). I would love a drawing of Stephen Colbert of Kiefer Sutherland or Solid Snake (from Metal Gear Solid). I also love Splinter Cell, Jon Stewart, Harvey Birdman (Attorney at Law) and Otacon (from Metal Gear Solid), so any of those in any form of art would be so cool.

4. Recipes.
I'm a college student and I have a lot of trouble coming up with new things to eat instead of being stuck with the dining hall's crummy food. I would love some cool recipes that don't necessarily require an oven or stove-top (I do have a microwave, though, so if that's substitutable for an oven, lemme know).

5. Cool sites with totally random stuff.
Funky clothes, crazy jewelry, awesome bags, even toys. Anything that's not very girly, cuz I'm not into that kinda stuff. But I LOVE finding new websites where I can find schaweet stuff that I might wanna get in the future.

6. Busted Tees t-shirts.
There's a couple of shirts that I have wanted for a few years, now, but they never go on sale; Initech, Binford Tools, Don't Tase Me Bro, and We'll Do It Live. I LOVE those shirts.

7. Movie recommendations.
I'm into comedies, dramas and action films. I don't like romantic stuff, and I tend not to like dark comedies. And, just for reference, I hated Juno, lol.

8. Business for my dad.
Like I said before, dad is a professional artist. He has a mural and faux finish business. I'm not trying to beg for business or anything, but it's hard for dad to get his business out there; if you would like your home or your place of business painted (in the up-state New York area) or even if you would like a painting done for you to hang up or give to someone, please let me know. My dad also paints wine glasses, candle-holders, etc.

9. College horror stories.
Topic can be anything and everything. I'm a freshman and I'm having a tough time getting through college. I'd love to hear what stories you might have about the crap you may have gone through in college.

10. Ties.
I. Love. Ties. I seriously can't explain it, I just love them so much. If you have ties you never wear anymore, ties you don't like, please, send 'em my way. One stipulation: I hate paisley. X]

If you would like my address, feel free to PM me here or send me an email at dr_saico_24vicodin [at] yahoo [dot] com. I'll do my best to fulfill one of your wishes, too! Thanks for listening!

Love y'all - Mira/Doc/Kat *meow*

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star ...

  • Nov. 27th, 2009 at 9:23 PM
Hello everyone! Welcome to my wishlist!
It's my fourth year here, and I've enjoyed this community a lot the previous years. I'm a 23 year old girl from Belgium, I love traveling, seeing musicals (my favorite is Wicked), and spending my summers at music festivals.

Here's the LIST:

1. X-mas cards. Any kind is great, charity, handmade, foreign, ... I love X-mas cards, such a simple gift but it makes me very happy.

2. Postcards. From where you live or a place you traveled to in the past. Preferably mailed in an envelope so I won't damage the stamps :)

3. Ad cards. You know the kind of cards you find for FREE in stores or at events. Like these: http://members.chello.nl/~g.tiemens/index.htm/kaartjes.jpg - I'd like to decorate my wall with those kind of cards.

4. Souvenirs. Little things like key-chains, magnets, bookmarks, surprise me!

5. Stationary. Pencils, regular pens, colored pens, sharpies, anything really.

6. A New York Subway map or a New York Street Map. Used is fine. I'm planning a NY trip and a big, decent map would be very handy.

7. My biggest wish this year:
20th Centrury Fox Family Feature Movies. I've been waiting for these to be released over here but the only one I found so far is Anastasia. If you have any of these lying around and don't mind burning me a copy I'd be really excited! (A Troll In Central Park - The Princess and the Goblin - Little Nemo: Adventures In Slumberland - A Christmas Carol - Thumbelina and The Pagemaster | Also: The Nutcracker Prince (1990) but this isn't from 20th).

8. Smile at strangers. Someone you run into when you're letting the dog out or an old lady waiting for the same bus as you. When I was little and I was out with my parents everyone would smile at each other and say hello. People don't do that much nowadays. This is a truly wonderful way to cheer someone up and brighten their day.

9. Look around this community and see if you can make someone else happy, even if it's only with a card. The little days make a big difference :)

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Melissa. [Melissa8400@gmail.com]

Happy holidays to everyone. My name is Danielle and I am 24 years old. I have 2 young children. My daughter is 5 and my son is 4. We live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I have participated in this community for years and now have some wonderful international friends because of it. If anyone can find it in their hearts to grant some of these wishes it would be a blessing indeed.

1.My daughter really wants a pillowpet. She talks about them all day long. There is a website www.pillowpets.com.

2.Cards, letters or email. Whats better than a handwritten letter at christmas time. If you asend me one, I promise to write back!!!!

3. THis might sound weird but I really need baby food recipies. My 4 year old has fragile x syndrome and it shut down the protein for development. Developmentally he is only 12 or 13 months old.

4.Developmental toy like lincoln logs or tinker toys. Items that promote hand eye coordination and fine motor skills.

5.Bath stuff. having 2 kids, the only alone time I get is in the bathtub. Any scent, any anything would be most appreciated.

6.Books!!!I love to read. I have always loved to read. Iam currently teaching my daughter how to read so maybe some easy reader books or things of that nature for her. I really read anything.

7.Anything to do with Where the Wild Things Are.

8.Anything pink or princess.

Sorry i cant think of ten things. I hope all of your Holiday wishes come true.

Holiday Wishlist

  • Nov. 27th, 2009 at 9:41 AM
Hello everybody! I'm back again this year and will try to grant as many wishes as I can. I love this community and I think it's a great way to spread the love!

That said, here's my own wishlist:

1. Hello Kitty anything! I'm completely nuts for Hello Kitty. Pencils, sticky notes, stickers, I don't care. Anything with her adorable little face on it :-D

2. Mail! Lots of mail! Letters, postcards, Christmas cards, whatever! I WILL write back if you want me to (please ask in whatever you send me if you want a reply) but I can't guarantee it'll be timely. I WILL reply to you, though!

3. Books! Fiction. Any kind. My favorites are mystery and horror, but I'm also a fan of just regular, ordinary fiction. I *love* to read!

4. Surprises! Send me a care package. As big or as small as you want. Doesn't matter what's in it--drawings from your kids, a couple of pretty buttons, some old photographs. Whatever. I love surprises!

5. Rainbow stuff! Anything with rainbows on it. Hooray for rainbows!

6. Gift cards to A.C. Moore or Michael's. I think this is a long shot, but hey :-)

7. Patterns for crocheting and sewing (with a machine). Doesn't really matter what the patterns are for--if I don't need/like/want the things I make, I'll give them to charity, but I want the practice with the techniques. Knitting patterns might be okay too but I'm no great knitter and a large project might be a bit daunting :-/

8. Grant someone else's wish(es). I know this is kind of cheesy and/or corny, and a lot of people say it, but I mean it. Please do something nice for somebody else, even if it's just something very very small. Spread the holiday cheer :-)

9. Kind of along the same lines...say something nice to somebody you wouldn't ordinarily talk to. Compliment that kind of weird new co-worker on her haircut, tell the lonely old man on the bus he has nice eyes, SOMEthing. Make somebody's day. :-)

10. This is also along the same lines, but...smile more. Smile at people. Random people. And MEAN it. Pay close attention to their reactions--sometimes the most ordinary-looking person can be completely transformed when they smile back at you.

Thanks in advance!

Any would-be wish-granters please email me at:

quilladdison@yahoo.com

and I will provide my name and address. You can comment on this post if you like but I may not check the comments that frequently, so email is the best way to reach me. Please put "LJ Holiday Wishes" in the title and feel free to include a link to your list.

Thank you!

Into the Aether I cast my words...

Hi! I'm in my late forties, have a desk job at a major retailer, and am a long-time fannish person.

I am...doing better this year, well enough to send out multiple inexpensive surprises. Looks like I'll have to get another box of holiday cards though.

Without further ado, my wishes.

1. Good/better health for my family, friends and co-workers.

2. For all soldiers to come home safe and sound from the wars.

3. Mix CDs! If you're not in the US, or you happen to know a good local band, I'd like at least one track to be from a homegrown musician. If you want to know more about my taste in music, or have a suggested theme, please comment.

4. LJ/DW icons--take a look at my interests and build something from there.

5. Fanart of my fanfics!

6. Something off my Amazon wishlist: http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/3TV5UMA84N51R

7. Pre-1985 British comics of any genre, not including 2000 AD. (I had most of those.)

8. Non-US candy. Yum!

9. Fanfics for pulp characters or Golden Age superheroes. Gen by preference; romance is okay if it isn't the main plot of the story.

10. Heroclix and similar-sized gaming miniatures. I really should start GMing again.

And here's my contact info! )

A happy and prosperous holiday season to you all!

Well hello there!

Hi there! I'm the ominous_waffle/Josie and this is my first year doing this, and my first year on LJ! I are a teenager living in Western Australia. Anyway, not really expecting anything, as its all uber expensive but hey, I'll post a wishlist anyway. It's my birthday on Dec 11th so its kinda a Birthday/Christmas wishlist. Anyhow, I'll stop ranting now and get on with it.

1.) Electric Light Orchestra -
Vinyls, CD's, posters, DVDs, I'll take them all. Currently, I only own 1 ELO thing (because I'm such a bad fangirl) which is The Very Best of Electric Light Orchestra CD. This in particular would be muchly appreciated.

2.) Chaser merch -
The Chaser is a comedy show here in Aus and easily my second biggest fandom. I would love some Chaser's War on Everything DVDs but once again, anythings fine with me. If you live outside of Australia, you can buy them online at www.chaser.com.au, and they come signed!

3.) An iPod/MP3 player -
I've never had one of these because I'm horrible with saving money. Long shot, I know, but please. I don't care if it's used, just as long as it has a screen and can play music (500 songs min).

4.) Stuff from any musician I like -
I like the Electric Light Orchestra, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan... List goes on, if you're really interested, there's more on my profile. Once again, vinyls, CD's, posters, DVD's, all will be loved. Band shirts are also win.

5.) The Goodies/Doctor Who stuff -
DVDs, posters, etc.
Stuff like this is also good.

6..) Accessories -
Currently, I own one pair of earrings. That is all. Therefore, I would like more accessories. Earrings, bracelets, handbags, shoes IDK. Everything is fine with me. The only things I don't like are studs and pink. Home-made is also good.

7.) Nintendo DS -
Once again, long shot. Used, old school ones are fine.

8.) Donate to RSPCA/your local animal shelter
Because I love animals.

9.) New LJ friends
I love friends, the more in common we have, the better.

10.) This, for my friend, who has been really supportive of me this past year. It's her favourite singer of all time and I'd like to give it to her in order to repay her kindness.

Well there we go, my wishlist! If you want to contact me, drop me a line at apocalyptic_waffle[at]hotmail.com

Hello! My name's Courtney, I live pretty much right on top of Disney World (can see it from my neighborhood, can hear the fireworks in my bedroom, all that jazz), and I'm turning 16 on December 20th (five days before Christmas!) I've never posted a list here, but I've been filling requests for a while and thought I'd give asking a go. I'm not expecting to get anything because it's all kind of pricey, just things I really, really want, but if anyone out there is feeling extremely generous or wants to give a Happy 16th Birthday/Merry Christmas gift, here you go!

1. A copy of the album "Noble" by the band Versailles.
Versailles was the first band I ever saw live, and I drove 18 hours and waited 12 more to make it happen. XD
Their beautiful bassist Jasmine You recently passed away, and I took it pretty hard. I'd love to own a copy of their first full-length CD as a reminder of one of the happiest nights of my life.

2. Anything with hippos!
Hippos are my favorite animals. I'll take anything, I swear. Drawings, plushies, magnets, postcards, t-shirts, whatever. Tacky things are fine, too. I just really love hippos, haha.

3. A letter or postcard~.
Send me a story, a recap of your day, your opinions on car door handles that match the car's body color, anything you please. I put all my letters in a notebook, and it's a little empty right now. I'd like some penpals, too, so if you want me to write back please ask. :3

4. Final Fantasy VII merchandise.
Again, I'll take anything. This is my lone obsession at the moment, and it hits HARD.
But really, I mean anything. Fanart, fanfics, magazine articles, a personal story about it, posters, plushies, keychains, a slip of notebook paper that says "FFVII," the game itself, anything will make me the happiest girl in the woooorld~!

5. Gackt.
Yes, in person. 8|

... Juuuuuust kidding. -sigh- XD
In reality, it's the same as number 4. Anything, everything, DVDs (just not the Red version of The Greatest Filmography because I already own it), CDs, posters, pictures, anything's game and I'll make sure I take wonderful care of it and send it back to you if you ever change your mind.

6. A big bow.
The kind I can wear on my head~. Handmade or bought, I don't care if it's on a headband or not, as long as it's black, grey, or white so it doesn't clash with my wardrobe or hair (which is currently blue/purple-- you can see it in my userpic. XD)

7. A pair of big glasses.
No magnification, just some big glasses like these: [link] [link]
I've been lusting after them for quite some time. I think they're adorable.

8. Paintbrushes.
I'm graduating next winter and plan on going to Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL. I'm working on my portfolio at the moment, and while the drawing is going well I'd also like to include some paintings. My paintbrushes are not the greatest, and I'd really like some new ones so I don't get frustrated so easily and my art turns out better.

9. This wig in the color 24B.
Cosplaying is one of my all-time favorite hobbies, and wig styling is my favorite part of it. I think having a great cosplay is one of the easiest, most enjoyable ways to make fangirls/fanboys obscenely happy, and that makes me happy. ^-^

My next project is Cloud Strife as he appears in Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, and I'd really, really love to turn this strange wig into his stranger head of spikes. If you're interested, email me and I can get you a discount so it's approximately $30 with shipping.

10. This pair of contacts.

They're also for Cloud. If anyone's interested, I wear plano (no prescription). <3

You can contact my through LJ or at bpwnr [at] live [dot] com. Anything will be greatly appreciated, and I'll be extra sure to try to fill something on your list if I haven't already!

Happy Holidays, everyone!

Hello, everyone! First time participating in this comm.
(I can't believe it's the holidays again; where did time go?!)

1. Book recommendations or books in .lit, .txt or .pdf format.
There aren't really any genres I dislike, so rec away.

2. Music recommendations or zips/mp3s.

3. LJ friends. If you look at my journal, you'll see that I only use it to community-hop, but I really want to find people who share my interests and stuff. My profile doesn't have a lot of them, but if you look at my icons, you'll get an idea of what I'm into. (movies, videogames, that sort of thing) :)

4. Icons & wallpapers. I change the look of my desktop probably once a day. I make my own stuff too, but I *love* other people's graphics.

5. A donation to the ASPCA or a shelter of your choice.

6. Health and happiness, not only for me but for my family. I know this one can't be granted by anyone, but it's nice to put it out there. :P

7. And finally, the "expensive" part of my wishlist: I'd like an extension on my new paid account or a rename token. I've had this name for so long but I've grown tired of it and want to change it. :)

Happy holidays!
(Sorry about the last entry, hope it's right this time.)

Hi guys, my name's Conor and my fiancée introduced me to this community a few weeks ago. She suggested I make up a list and post it here, so I figured why not? I'll try not to make it too long, and I'll do my best to grant other people's holiday wishes as much as possible.

Hello everyone! My name is Julie, I am 29 and married to a great guy named Sean. We live in Ohio with our two cats and two dogs. This is the 4th year that I am participating in this community and I am so excited to get into it for this year as well! I've already been looking around and trying to see where I can grant some wishes :)

I guess I'll just get to the wishes!

1. A website. The store I work at is a little locally owned place, and we have a cruddy website! I have been trying to build a new one for it, but my time and abilities are limited. The store can't afford to pay anyone to make one right now, so it would be awesome if a talented web site maker person would want to offer to do something simple for us!

2. Donate time, money, food, bedding, treats, and toys to your local humane society/shelter or animal rescue. We will be donating a bag full of treats and toys on behalf of our shelter puppies!

3. Holiday MAAAAAIIIILLLL! I love getting things in the mail that aren't bills or letters from bill collectors! I especially love cards or postcards from overseas. I have a lot of blank walls that can be filled with awesome cards!

4. Funky socks! I have quite the sock collection, but there is always room for more! I love any socks with fun images, funky colors, themes, holidays ANYTHING! I love socks! Fluffy ones, ones with the nubby things on the bottom so you don't slip on the floor, any kind!

5. Small stuffed animals or chewy toys for my dog Zoe. The only thing I ask is that they aren't the kind with "beans" in them or with the button eyes. She likes to eat things that aren't food. :-/

6. McDonald's or Jersey Mike's gift certificates. The place I work at is right next to both of those places and I like to be able to treat myself to a sub or a box of fries sometimes!

7. Ornaments for my tree! I love having all different types of ornaments from all kinds of places. I like vintage looking ones a lot, from the 50's, 60's and 70's. Handmade ones are especially awesome!

8. Donate toys through Toy's for Tots! I mean really, you get to help out some sexy Marines and some cute kids all at the same time!

9. Some more local friends. Couples would be awesome so that my husband can have someone to hang out with too! I live in the greater Cincinnati area, so if you're in the same area - check out my profile and see if you think we might get along. :)

10. Donate non-perishable items to your local foodbank. This time of year is especially hard, and with unemployment as high as it has been, they are always in need of things to fill their shelves! Again, if you live in the greater Cincinnati area I can direct you to a great place to drop off some things for a local foodbank... the store I work at! :)

Leave a comment here or drop me a line at juliedmc @ gmail.com for my address or if you need/want more info about any of my wishes! Thanks so much for taking the time to look! :)

christmas!

  • Nov. 26th, 2009 at 1:17 PM
I participated in this a couple of years ago and loved it! So im back. Hello, Im brittney. Im 22 [turning 23 on christmas actually ~] and i live in rhode island. Im recently married [in july] to the love of my life and I also overcame a huge fear of driving and got my license in april. This year has been huge and ive grown quite a bit. Fortunately my mood and faith in society has gotten...better. Id really like to make this christmas a very kind and loving one. The following list is full of simple, cheap, and more kindness based gifts that I would LOVE you all for. I, myself, am looking through wish lists to see whose day i can brighten. And response will be amazing.

1. I have been living with PCOS for a very long time and have been too broke to do anything about it. When I got married I got benifits and I have yet to see a doctor. Advice and/or doctors in the new england area specializing in pcos would be amazing.

2. I live in a small apartment with a very old kitty. shes turning 17. any cat toys new or used would be great for her.

3. I also have a sun conure parrot, toys are mad expensive. Even if you could make something he would be very grateful. He hasnt had a new toy in ages.

4. I also have two bearded dragons. lol. they dont really need much put food so a petsmart/petco gift certificate even for 5 bucks would be a great gift.

5. I love art. My favorite things to get fan art of is final fantasy [7,8,& 10], nintendo, left 4 dead, kingdom hearts, or any from the animes: fruits basket & blood+. I dont care if its a pencil drawing! anything would be sooooooo awesome. also i dig disney art too. especially lionking and aristocats and fox & the hound.

6. fanfics. pretty much as listed above but you could even do ones from my favorite shows: lost, dexter, and flash forward.

7. anything creative that you make. if you have a hobby. even if its pictures or photoshop. i have a great love for arts and crafts so that would be great.

8. anything gamer related.

9. lastly cards or letters. from all over the place.

Hello

  • Nov. 26th, 2009 at 11:44 AM
Hello, my name is Ashley and I live in Texas. I've done this wishlist thing before and have appreciated the little bits of joy people have sent. I think it's a wonderful community and I love seeing so many people wish for things like donations to charity and that sort of stuff :) I look forward to doing what I can for people.

Here are my wishes, they are few:

1. The thing I always wish for the most is art of my characters. It makes me so happy to get depections of them from all sorts of artists. I have 2 characters. My main one, which is a wolf/cheetah hybrid and a second is a mutt character I recently created. Here are their references-

Malaika- http://malaikawolfcat.deviantart.com/art/Dangerous-and-Sweet-131266166 (I especially love art of her with my fiance or friends' chars, refs for which can be found in the info there)
Owen- http://malaikawolfcat.deviantart.com/journal/24397287/

2. I'd love if you could take a moment to stop by my photography account and take a look :) It's here- http://justblieve.deviantart.com/

3. Links to your favorite artists/photographers. I like people who do animal/wildlife/fantasy stuff, but I also enjoy people who do movie/tv fanart (especially stuff from LOST, HP, LotR)

4. Donate to your local animal shelter or to a zoo or conservation group :) Most of the time, they really do need your help. Volunteer your time, money, supplies, anything. At the vet clinic I work at we put up a little flyer saying we needed towel and blanket donations and we've had so many people bring us in fleece blankets and nice plush towels and we appreciate it so much! It makes us all feel good to know the dogs that board with us or are sick have nice soft things to lay on :)

5. The only thing of monetary value I could really use are giftcards to Petsmart (our cats go through a lot of toys and litter) and restaurants/fast food that my fiance and I could use. Even $5 is $5 that we don't have to pay for the next time we want to have lunch together or something :) If by some weird chance you happen to get something we don't have around here (though we have almost everything since we're by Dallas) I'll send it back to you :)

6. Just be nice towards people. Even if people seem kind of rude or angry, try not to act the same towards them or the next person you come across. You never know what people are going through that might have made them like that. Maybe something bad happened in the family or someone wasn't very nice to them and they're just acting out. You being curteous towards them even when they're not at their best really could make a difference :)

Thank you so much everyone. If you need my address for any reason, you can contact me for it at lost.and.found.art @ gmail.com

Have a happy holiday!

Ok, so I suppose I should start with a bio. I am a graduate student in a history department in upstate New York. I'm a Canadian, but I've been in the states for almost ten years now. I'm a lot older than I ever expected to be at this point. This is my 2nd year doing this. I am married, and I have a kid, and I live with two cats. I'm tentatively exploring steam punk as an ethos. I already have too much stuff, and I don't really want all that much new stuff, so my requests are, with a couple of exceptions, small things. I think that covers everything.

Graduate student:
1) Good thoughts for my prospectus defense. The prospectus has to be approved by Dec. 24th, or I’m out on my ear.

Canadian in exile:

2) Candy/snacks from Canada. Macintosh toffee, Big Turk bars, Ketchup chips, Zesty Cheese Doritos, Kinder Eggs, Crispy Crunch bars. You can’t get them here in the States. (Coffee Crisp and Oh Henry bars have filtered down, and there’s a Tim Horton’s half an hour away, but I still can’t get Zesty Cheese. It’s a sin!) Oh, and I promise to share with the wife and the kid. Seriously!

Steam punk exploration:

3) A Zeppelin. It could be a real zeppelin, it could be a model zeppelin, it could be directions for making one out of cardstock – actually, I have that last one already, but I lack the crafty skill to do it right. So not that. A really good picture of a zeppelin, perhaps. Or, really, any dirigible - which is not the same as a blimp.

4) A military great coat. Ideally, Russian, World War I vintage (or facsimile thereof), but not necessarily – green wool for preference. I'm building a costume, to go with the zeppelin.

Cats:

5) Cat nip pillows for my large, orange, and unruly Maine Coon cat.

6) For the same cat, a sturdy harness so he can go outside. I lost a cat to traffic a little over a year ago, so this guy doesn’t get to go out except on a string. Except when he breaks the harness and escapes. Large, orange, and unruly.

Small things that won't fill up my small apartment:

7)
An I-pod Touch, 2nd or 3rd Gen, 16 or 32 Gig. Unrealistic, I know, but perhaps you just upgraded, but have no one who wants your old one? A tiny computer, camera, music player, text messenger thing all rolled into one? Plus, it's shiny. Yeah, I want one.

8) Lots of folks ask for mix CDs. I know I sent some out last year (I think they went out in time for Martin Luther King Day, but they went out…). So, why not – here are my two most prominent Pandora stations (and my Christmas station, for extra credit)– if your musical taste is in anyway close to mine, send me a mix CD.

9) Buy something from Heifer International. A goat. A cow. A bunny. Some chickens. You don't get to keep them - someone who really needs a goat or a cow or a bunny or some chickens gets them instead. So, you know, you can do this even if you live in a dorm room or something. And I won't get the cow or whatever, so it won't fill up my apartment. Although, you know, chickens... I could keep them outside...

10) Peace on Earth, and good will towards all. Takes up no space, but still fills everything up!

Hello all. My name is Katy. I'm an eighteen-year-old university student living in Alberta, Canada. This is my first year participating in this community. A friend of mine let me know about Holiday Wishes and I thought the idea sounded quite awesome. If you need my address either message me on livejournal, or send me an e-mail at pipsqueekers2@hotmail.com

1. Mail - I'm quite serious. It's been ages since I got a letter in the mail. I would also be happy to hear about a story that made you smile or even a drawing.

2. Copic markers - I wish to improve on my drawing. I used a friend's markers, and I fell in love with them. They color so smoothly.

3. T-shirts - I love the feeling of wearing oversized t-shirts. When I mean oversized, I mean 4Xl or 5XL. And I am always on the lookout for cool designs.

4. A chess set - Whether it is new or old, bought or handmade, I would enjoy having my own chess set.

Anything Square Enix related. This includes fanfiction, fanart, icons, plushies, figurines...anything you can think of! I am particular to Final Fantasy VII and the Kingdom Hearts series.

6. A copy on Radiohead's In Rainbows - I'm a big fan of Radiohead, especially Thom Yorke.

7. Any tasty recipes you may have - I like to bake and cook when I am stressed or bored. Plus, it makes my family happy.

8. Noise cancelling earbuds - When I listen to music, I like to go into my own little world. And with five people living in my house, that can be a little difficult. :)

9. A donatiion to your local animal shelter or charity - I think organizations dedicated to helping others need a little more help around this time.

10. Livejournal friends - I would like to meet new friends from different places.

I hope everyone has a good holiday season. Spend it with the people you care about and be safe. I look forward to fufilling some of your wishes.

Happy Thanksgiving, Holiday Wishers!

I'm glad we've got this community. I'm Luna and this is my.. 4th(?) Year participating in granting wishes. I've had a lot of fun prepping for the event and already I've started with a few of the intangible wishes. I think those are some of the most satisfying ones.

A little bit about myself, I'm 39, a Licensed Massage Therapist in the Tampa Bay Area. I live with my husband, our 2 fur kids and love what I do. Aside from healing people through touch, I write erotica and bellydance for fun and fitness. I'm an active participant in the local Ren Faire, and the haunter communities. I'm just a "little" bit ecclectic.

A request for help: I -know- someone out there said they LIKED Penguins, and I've been looking for that wish, but I can't find that one. If someone would direct me there, I'd be ever so grateful. I had gone out and purchased things for it, and well.. now I'm a bit lost. :)

1. Relaxing Music: New Age, Mystic, World... music I can massage to. What do you listen to when you relax. I would love to hear what you like to chill out to. I'd love an Cd burned with your favorite music so I can get an idea of what slows you down. Who knows, Maybe my clients would like it too.

2. Essential Oils: Aromatic oils, custom blended, or just straight that I can use for aroma therapy reasons. These oils should be skin safe, non synthetic so that they can be blended with carrier oils and used on clients.

3. Set of twin sized flannel sheets in white: Though I live in Florida, and I use cotton sheets, a set of flannel sheets would be nice to have for my business.

4. Be Kind to Others: In this day and age, people tend to forget that those around them have a life too. So take a moment to say "Thanks" to the guy that holds the door open for you. Or smile at the person who looks like they're having a bad day.

5. BPAL: Hoarder that I am, I LOVE this company. Actually I like ANY of those companies, HAEE, etc I like imps of all variety. Spare a few?? I especially like Sandalwood, Jasmine and woodsy notes. I am not fond of boozy or cherry notes, they don't come off friendly on my skin.

6. Cat treats: My cats are SPOILED. They love nip. They love toys. And they really love surprises.

7. Bath Stuff: I am a -huge- fan of LUSH and Bath and Body works. These companies make me happy. LUSH makes the very best bath bombs and the two scent I love best from BBW are Coconut and ENERGY (orange and ginger)

8.Paranormal Romance Novels: This truly is my favorite genre of reading these days. Do you have any books you've read, laying around that you don't mind parting with? I promise to give them a good home. I LOVE books and am an avid reader.

9. Snail Mail/Christmas Cards: We all like getting something other than bills, and I am no different. Cards, Letters, anything in the mail would be appreciated.

10. SURPRISE ME: When I was a kid growing up, My dad and I always LOVED getting grab bags, and to this day I hardly ever pass one up. So here's your chance. Throw something together that makes YOU smile. Share a bit of your world with me.

Thank you, in advance should you take the time to grant any of these wishes. I appreciate it.
