Hi! I am hoping everyone had a nice holiday. It is very late to be posting but I have just discovered the community, and I hope that my wish will not be difficult!

This year, Santa brought to my small brother some games for his hand held Nintendo. But, since they were purchased second hand, they do not have a box, and they are so small, my sisters and I fear they will become lost. We want to get case for him but even after putting our codes together, we do not have enough points.

So, I am wondering, if anyone has the games for the Nintendo Wii, or DS, and they are not interested in using the code, if you would share them with me? The code is inside the game, on the paper that says [register your software] and it looks as 0000-000-000-0000. We would be very thankful!

That is all! Hoping everyone enjoys a happy new year!

My List! ♥

  • Dec. 28th, 2008 at 11:21 PM
Hi everyone! *waves* :D

I know I'm too late for Christmas, but I was having a rough time and so I wasn't around then. But, I figured I would post my list anyway and just see what happens! We have this phrase where I live: "Shy children get nothing", and I guess that's true! You don't get anything if you don't ask, right?! :D So, here goes!

Notebooks/Journals
I love, love, love notebooks! Especially Paperchase! ♥ And especially now I've decided to start keeping a written journal again. Even though I'm only 26, my memory is starting to fail pretty badly, and I need to start keeping a written account of my life. So that one day, I can have stories to tell my children. :) If I don't, I'll forget everything. :(

Starbucks Giftcard
I am totally addicted to their iced vanilla lattes but every time I go there I feel so guilty! I mean, £2.60 for a coffee?! When I've got a crumbling house in desperate need of help? It brings on such a major guilt trip! lol A giftcard, even if it only buys me 1 drink, would be so awesome!

Postcards
I kind of have a postcard addiction at the moment, and it would be so cool if I could have lots of different ones from around the world! :D Seeing the few that I have stuck in the sides of my bedroom mirror every day always brings a smile to my face!

Pens
To help me fill my journals! :D I dunno why, but I am always losing my pens! lol I guess I shouldn't keep moving them around the house, but lots of cute blue ink pens would be awesome! Fountain pens are my favourite. I've always written with fountain pens! Even in school, I was the only one with a fountain pen! lol :D I love pens with silly little things on top too!

LJ Friends
I just changed journals in September, and my flist has shrunk so new friends would be so cool! I love talking to people and discovering new friendships. :) If there's anything in my profile that makes you think we could be friends, please add me! I'd love to meet you!

MAC or Rimmel make-up
Up until a few weeks ago, I HATED make up with a passion! lol But now I love it and I can't stop buying it! My favourites so far are MAC and Rimmel. So, if anyone has any bits of make-up lying around that they're never gonna use, I'd love to give them a new home! :)

Tokidoki Cactus Pups
I saw these little critters in a post on another community ages ago and I've been obsessed with them ever since! Only thing is, I can't find any! lol I would love some cactus pups! They're so adorable!

And now for the more difficult wishes...

A baby
This is a new wish. It's crossed my mind, off and on for the last year or so, but only in the last month have I realised that I really, really want a baby. I'm ready to be a mother now. I'd especially love a baby boy. ♥

To hear those 3 words
I've been seeing a guy that I met at college for 6 months now and I'm in love with him. It would make me so, so happy to hear him tell me he loves me too.

To Meet Stephen Colbert
Stephen Colbert is so awesome, I don't think I really need to explain this one! LOL :p I would give anything to go to New York and watch a taping of The Colbert Report, and then meet him afterwards! He is so funny and such a great guy. It would be an experience to treasure forever! ♥

So, that's it! Finally! LOL :D I hope I didn't bore anyone! :D

If you want to get my address, my email is fiendish_blonde@live.co.uk :)

Thank you for reading! ♥

Hi. :)

  • Dec. 29th, 2008 at 2:18 AM
Hope this isn't too late.

My name is Sarah. I'm crazy crafty, so I hope you guys can help me get ready for the new year.

1. Beads, Ear wires, Head/Eye Pins, etc. All materials. Crystals, glass, cinnabar, etc. I make jewelry for charity, and any jewelry components would be greatly appreciated. In all metals, as well.

2. Fabric. Any spare fabric scraps or full pieces you have around. I'd love to take them off your hands. I make clothes for charity out of scrap fabric. :)

3. Cassette tapes. I just got this old car. Fell in love with it. (Old Camaro) And it only has a tape deck. I'd have to do all this re-wiring to get a CD player installed, so I figure: lets get old school and just get tapes for my new baby.

4. Yarn. I'd love yarn in all colors, types, styles. I make scarves, hats, ornaments, etc., for charity and I'm always in need of more yarn. Or if you'd like to help me knit for charity, that would be great, too.

5. Web site design. I have my own domain and would love help with creating a website for it. (I know. This is the super selfish request. But, I just have to ask.)

6. Donations of goodies for auction. The non-profit I support is always looking for goodies that we can auction or eBay off for extra funds to support charity. Anything you think would be worth some money in an auction would be great. We get toys, dvds, handmade goods, teas, autographed photos from celebrities, etc.

7. Graphic artist help. We're always looking for a new artist to help design stuff for us, like t-shirts, banners, etc.

8. Anything Firefly/Serenity related. Anything at all. :) Even awesome articles.

9. Cat and dog treats. My kitty and dog would love you forever. They don't get spoiled too often with treats, so this would definitely make their holiday season.

10. Stationary and stamps. I'm always writing letters looking for donations or thanking people for donations. More stationary and stamps would rock.

Thank you for your help - thanks for even reading this far. I hope everyone had an amazing holiday and I hope the season continues to bless you.

If you're interested in helping fulfill any of my wishes, message or PM me for my mailing address. Send me your wishlist, as well, and I'll try to help you in anyway I can.

Thank you so much.

My wish list!

  • Dec. 27th, 2008 at 10:55 AM
I definitely thought I had posted this...but I looked and I never posted! Anyway, sorry for the lateness...I'm Mary, a 19 year old college sophomore from VA.

On to the wishes!

1. 2009 Calendar...with kitties on it! I like to plan ahead and keep track of what I need to do, and I love cats. :) Ended up finding one for 50 cents at Michaels! So I bought it. :D

2. Livejournal icons! I'd love some new icons made just for me by you! My fandoms are listed in my interests on my profile, but if you don't want to look there, I like Haruhi, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Super GALS!, and Totoro, to name a few.

3. Beads! I make my mom and coworkers jewelry for the holidays, and I would love some new beads to use! I'd prefer non-plastic beads, but even plastic can be used for their kids! <3

4. Crimping pliers! Related to wish 3. Crimps make the jewelry look so much more professional, buuuut crimping with needle-nose pliers makes annoyingly sharp edges. These pliers would be wonderful! Also bought at Michael's, lol. XD;;

5. Crimp bead covers. Again, related to the above wishes. Here's an example of what I'm looking for.

6. Little magnets! I like to stick pictures up, and have run out of magnets...so cute little magnets would be super! <3

7. Foreign candy! Haha, I love sweets, probably more than I should. And I love to try new things! I'm lucky to have no allergies. :D

8. Paid LJ time for [info]silentaustin</lj>. I don't have a credit or debit card, so it's hard for me to get things from online. I know he really wanted paid time for Christmas, though.

And finally, my most important wish...

9. Do something special for someone you love. Go on a picnic with your friends. Make your parents or your sweetie breakfast and bring it to them in bed. Take a day for yourself and do something you've wanted to, but haven't had the time to do. Give hugs to every one of your friends and family you see that day. Tell your family and friends you love them and appreciate them for who they are and what they do. Make the people who make your life special feel special and loved.

Thanks so much for looking! My email is fightingcomet at hotmail dot com if you need to reach me! <3

Anyways:
1. A paid account, I really need more space for icons haha.
2. Letters or cards in the mail, something other than bills lol.
3. To finally meet Kelly Clarkson.
4. A video/DVD of Title of Show. Seriously I miss this show and those people so much.

Christmas List

  • Dec. 26th, 2008 at 12:41 AM
I'm a little late. But I think that goes with the theme of my holiday.

Lemme see if I can narrow it down to just a few.

1. TV Shows. I'm all about TV shows. I was supposed to have finished an awesome site with info about what shows I have and have seen and whatnot, but... I'm a little late. But if you have some shows you love you can recommend them to me and I'll check them out (especially non-US shows). Or if you have some avi/whatever files that you could burn to a DVD(s) and mail me, that'd be cool. Or if you have some DVDs lying around that you're never going to watch again, I'd totally give them a good home.

I think last year I got asked what kind of shows I like... and I've gotten even less picky since then. If it's scripted, I'll probably watch it. Not so much with the reality TV. Fiction for me.

2. Fanfic. I'm all about the shipping/fanfic, right under my all about the TV shows. I was supposed to have finished a super list of all my ships and how much I like them and it was going to be all pretty and useful, but... I'm a little late. A lot of them are listed on my user info. At the very least, I think nearly every show I "seriously" watch is listed so that should narrow it down. If you have favorites, you can recommend them to me. If you keep track of sites that keep fanfic for shows/ships, you can share. If you have similar likes as me, we can discuss. If you write fanfic you can seriously make my day. I am full of useless ideas.

3. Puzzle Pirates. I would reeeeally like a white tiger. ; ; I was poor last year when they had them and they didn't do them again this year. It's the only limited edition pet I don't have.

4. Friends. Not so much LJ friends. I am a terrible LJ friend. I'm a super instant messaging friend though. I've got MSN, Skype, and AIM pretty much running all the time. I have Yahoo and ICQ accounts and could get on them if required. If we have interests in common (particularly shows or... stuff like programming/web programming/graphics/html/nerdy stuff like that) then send me a message. My AIM name is the same as my LJ name. Also the same for Skype. If you want me on MSN you may have to PM me. I don't remember if it's in my info.

5. Birthday. It's my birthday tomorrow... well... today. The 26th. I'm an ancient 28. If you see this today and would be so kind as to e-mail me or PM me or leave a message here or leave a message on my lj or anything really indicating that someone remembered my birthday (is it still remembering if I tell you right before you do it?), I would be pleased. Outside my immediate family nobody really says anything to me anymore. Relatives used to call sometimes but... now not so much.

I will call that a day. And feel virtuous for not listing 10 things.

Dear, everyone.

  • Dec. 25th, 2008 at 3:47 PM
Dear all,

Two years ago, I was astounded by the generosity of the LJ users that I saw on here.

Here are my wishes, they are simple:
  • Starbucks Card
    • I love Starbucks, but as a broke college student, it's not always feasible to go here. A Starbucks Card with any value will do; if you have any old ones lying around, I'll take them off your hands. Also, if the card is unregistered, that would be perfect.. I am planning to keep this and use some of the perks that come with, but would like to keep the card under my name. A newly gifted card would be nice, but a plain old one will do. If you wait until January 3rd, they are also selling PRODUCT RED cards; 5 cents of every purchase will go towards PRODUCT RED.
  • Book of Sudoku Puzzles
    • I love Sudoku. What more can I say?
  • Lunch Sack
    • I'm trying to save as much money as I can.. a lunch sack would prevent me from that Chinese take-out place behind my dorm. I also think this will force me to eat healthier and avoid the Freshman 15.
  • Scarves
    • Any warm, knitted scarf will do. I like rugby stripes and fringes.
  • Holiday cards
EDIT: I forgot to include this, but I do have things that I can gift individuals and rather than going through wishlist after wishlist, I'll just post what I have here. Priority goes to people who can respond to a wish above (I'd like to thank those people with whatever I can give) and from then on, it's whomever posts first.
  • Books
    • NEW: of 1984 by George Orwell, Savage Inequalities by Kozol, The Elements of Style by Strunk & White, The Anthology of French Poetry edited by Angel Flores, The Poetry of Robert Frost
    • OLD: Two books of manga, The Iliad
Anyway, if you'd like to send me a gift, please let me know (message? I forgot how this works.) so I can give you my university address. Also, give me a link to your own wishlist and I'll see what I can do. I'm sorry this is late.. I hope that people are still looking at this community!

2 more hours

  • Dec. 24th, 2008 at 10:12 PM
Hi, I just found this community and decide too make a wish list even though its late.
In my time zone its two hours till mid-night (Christmas day)
So I'm late for this. XD

My wish list.

1. I would really like for more subscribers on my youtube channel or at least some comments.
www.youtube.com/user/JesusFreak9110

2. Gingerbread man icons.

3. A paid account it would be nice to be able to have more user pics.

4. If any one made a donation to a charity this holiday season I would love to hear about it.

5. Some more friends here on LJ

6. More friends on my DA too.jesus-freak91.deviantart.com/

7. And finally I wish that everyone who reads this has a great holiday season. :D

25th is the day

  • Dec. 25th, 2008 at 10:04 AM
We can wish on the day itself right? I'm from the philippines, and Christmas here is so fascinating. To all of you, I wish you a Merry Christmas!

Click here for my tangible wishes.

Intangible wishes:

1. DBSJ (Dong bang shin ki && Super Junior) icons.
2. Paid account!
3. lots of online, fandom friends.
4. (Okay this is tangible) I want late christmas cards. HAHA =))
5.  Cyworld Kr/Jp account.
6. Links to forums/networking sites/any cool sites.

Thank you and Happy Holidays! (:

Better late than never...right?;;;

  • Dec. 24th, 2008 at 2:15 PM
So I've been so busy this holiday season that I forgot all about [info]holiday_wishes. I've been giving and receiving the past two years. Last year, my list was up as early as my birthday in November, rofl. Excited much? :P Anyway, it's never too late to spread some Christmas cheer (I hope). XD

Don't hesitate to point me in the direction of your own wishlists. I probably won't be sending physical/tangible stuff this year (except maybe some awfully late cards) but I'd love to help with other things (e.g. recs, uploads, icons, graphics, layouts). ;)

So what does Belle wish for this year? :) )

Three wishes you can do on the internet :)

  • Dec. 24th, 2008 at 12:15 PM
I know I'm really late! I did this last year and loved it. Had no pennies this year and was sad that I couldn't send things to people, so stayed away...but I give in...I shall do what I can in the time left! Only 3 wishes, since it's so late, and all things you can do online.

I'm a photographer / film-maker from London, UK.

1. We made a feature film, and if you like independent / unusual films, you may very well like it. We'd really like a wider audience to see it. You can download it for $6, then watch it on your computer or burn it to a disk. Check the reviews etc on the website, and please consider getting it! Website is: www.jesusversusthemessiah.com

2. I've recently set up a new Deviant Art account, and I want more people to see it! Please have a look, add things you like as favourites, and most importantly, please put a Deviant Watch on my account, as I have lots more to add soon! debbieattwell.deviantart.com

3. My boyfriend is in a sketch comedy double act called The Electric Head. Please check them out if you like British quirky comedy..they deserve a wider audience, and they like feedback. They have 2 seasons of free podcasts to download if you like your comedy through your ears (season 1 is all sketches, season 2 is narratives), and a youtube channel...please watch their parody of Long Way Round (that show where Ewan McGregor and friend went across the world on motorbikes. The parody is very funny).
Watch video: uk.youtube.com/watch
For the podcasts, go to their myspace, and click the link: www.myspace.com/theelectrichead

I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas!! :)

Okay, I know it’s a little late, but I’ve been busy granting other people’s wishes and never got around to posting my own wishlist! So here it is.

1. Chocolate from Seattle Chocolates. I love their chocolate like crazy and I can never find them around here. My favorite favorites are the truffle bars—I love Meltaway Mint and Cappucino Crunch with a love that’s scary, but I’d be thrilled to receive any of their products.

2. Doctor Who paraphernalia. I love Doctor Who—my favorite Doctors are Nine, Four and Five, but all of them are wonderful. Any Doctor Who paraphernalia—daleks, ridiculously long scarfs, miniature TARDISes, etc—would be wonderful.

3. Paid LJ time, a permanant account, or extra userpics. Always a good thing.

4. Interesting jewelry. I love unique and interesting jewelry of all sorts—just no earrings, please—I don’t wear them! I especially love pendants and linked necklaces.

5. Socks! Colorful, interesting, comfortable socks.

6. Anything from my PaperBackSwap wishlist, especially the DC Super Dictionary, which I want with the burning desire of a thousand suns.

7. Surprises! I love surprises. Unexpected treasures and wonderful things. Two caveats: please no homemade food, and also nothing smelly, like BPAL. I am not a big perfume fan.

8. Art. Send me art. Photographs, paintings, collages, postcards, something beautiful to put on my wall.

9. The Doctor Horrible DVD. I want to see the musical commentary!

10. Do a random act of kindness for a stranger and tell me about it. Put a quarter in someone’s meter. Help a woman carry a stroller down the stairs. Buy a homeless man some lunch. Do something good and come back and share it with me.

If you want my address, drop me an email at penmage AT gmail DOT com. And I know it’s late, but I love receiving mail even after the season!

Thank you!
This has been a pretty good year for me overall, with some ups and downs. I lost a lot of stuff in a hard drive crash (waa!), I'm engaged (yay!), I'm sick of school (boo!), and I'm almost graduated with a degree in elementary education (woohoo!), ready to get out there and start teaching.

1. I'd love something from my teacher-related Amazon wish list. It's books I can use to help me teach students better (particularly with regards to differentiation and such). If you spot one at Goodwill or a used book store, great! I LOVE used books. As long as the material is intact, I really don't care about the book's condition.

2. Prayer. If you're a Christian, please pray for me this coming year. I'm going to be student teaching, and will need all the divine help I can get.

3. Donate to ADRA. It's an agency that's often on the front lines when a disaster occurs; they provide the emergency water, rations, etc. to keep people alive and safe, and they're also involved in setting up microdevelopment projects where people can donate towards supporting families, promoting health, providing food and water, establishing livelihoods, and responding to emergencies.

4. Adopt a pet, especially from a no-kill shelter if you can find one (every pet you adopt there gives more room for them to save another, and helps support them). If you've already done so, tell me your story; how did you find your pet?

5. I would love it if someone would write me a Pretender fanfic; a Jarod/Miss Parker pairing and/or a fic that develops the surrogate father relationship between Sydney and Miss Parker. Preferably "and".

6. I would also really love it if someone would write me a Scott/Ororo fanfic for X-Men movieverse. Either set it up as post-X2, or post-X1 where Jean betrays Scott with Logan. (X3 does not exist here.)

7. I've been looking for the movie "Where Are My Children?" (starring Marg Helgenberger) for ages. It was made for TV, not released anywhere as far as I know. If anyone has this on VHS somewhere and could convert it to digital, or has a digitized version of it, I would be ever so grateful!

8. I lost all my bases (some 18,000+ I had saved, mostly from [info]obsessiveicons) for making icons in a hard drive crash last January. I would love it if someone could get together a nice collection of bases sorted by artist name, and within that by subject material of the base (emphasis on nature, some people and other things too). I don't have the time to put together the enormous collection I used to have, and haven't been able to create icons lately due to that. I would credit you for helping me out, and be very grateful! This is something that anyone with a lot of time and a decent Internet connection can do; no money or even any creative bent is really necessary. Even if all you have is a single collection of nice bases somewhere, feel free to share them; I will be most appreciative! :)

9. I know I won't get it this year, but I'd love a real desktop computer. I've only ever had a laptop, and I work my computer to death. It really can't handle the sort of things I ask of it; a good desktop could (and moreover is designed to; I have to treat my laptop like a desktop, unfortunately, and I wish I could simply treat it like the laptop it really is).

10. Volunteer, for this Christmas and beyond. Find something that will benefit other people (particularly a charity that works with children or animals, if either's up your alley), and find a way to help. Then tell me about your experience. What did you do? How did it go? I'd love to hear how people are making a difference (happy news is always welcome!).

My Holiday Wish

  • Dec. 23rd, 2008 at 3:03 PM
I only have one wish this Christmas. I want a popular video on the internet. I made a holiday rap video with some friends last week with the hopes of it being enjoyed by the masses. One million, 10 thousand, hey i'll even take 1 thousand views. I just want as many people to watch and enjoy this video as possible. I'm not making any money from it, nor do I intend to. It's just something silly I want people to laugh at. This is the link to my video. Some explicit language contained within. http://www.vimeo.com/2564442

Happy Holidays to you all! And thank you.

My name is Liam and I'm 19. I'm a freshman in college at a prestigious art school in Chicago so my budget is non-existent for Christmas this year.

My wish list )

Dec. 22nd, 2008

  • 5:47 PM
Hey everyone! I know this is a little late, but I didn't want to have any more excuses to procrastinate from writing finals. Now that I'm done, I can spend some time browsing the community to see what wishes I can grant! Here's a little about me: I'm 25, a biology major, and will be moving to another city (Saskatoon) for a co-op work term starting in January. I can't afford to give a lot that has a dollar value, so I don't expect anything that does either. Although some of the things I'll list may have a dollar value, I'd really prefer that things given to me are not purchased just to give to me.
Anyways, here is my list!

1. Ideas for romantic or nifty things that I can do long distance just to show my husband I care, while I am away on my work term.

2. Photos or artwork! Both digital or real works. I love art in all forms- so anything goes.

3. Gift certificate for ncix.com

4. Anything for an 11 yr old boy who is going blind. My little brother is losing his sight at an incredible rate- one eye is already blind, and the other is almost there. We're finding that it is difficult to find things that he can enjoy with little sight, since most kids items are so visual.

5. Foreign candy, chocolate, etc. There are just so many things that are hard to find in Canada!

6. Knitted anything! I'd also love to learn how to knit

7. Riding lessons

8. Dr. Martens footwear. I love the stuff, but can't seem to find much at garage sales. I should fit UK 7

9. Suggestions for living with room mates. Their ages will vary from 18- 60ish. I've never lived with anyone other than my family and my husband.

10. Surprise me! I love surprises :)

You can email me at majandra913 at hotmail dot com for my address.

Hey folks! I'm Niki, and perpetually late to the holiday bash. I'm a college kid who just moved out on her own, so Christmas is going to be tight for me this year, and I haven't really gotten anything for myself in ages because of the economy crunch. Oh well. Happy holidays!

1. Yarn! Fun colourful yarn that I can crochet with. I make silly little patterns for pointless things in my head, so quantity of said fun yarn is not an issue.

2. Mix CDs! I love listening to new music, and a mix cd is the best thing ever. I get really bored with the monotony of having one artist on a cd; variety is king!

3. Nintendo DS games! This is my long shot wish that I'm not expecting to get. I love my ds, but I never buy games for it, and as such have only Brain Age and Guitar Hero, both of which were gifts. I like anything, and used is awesome.

4. Notebooks! I love blank notebooks, and have quite the collection. Additions would be rad.

5. Anything to do with massage slash the body! I love love love learning about the body and muscle manipulation, and massage is a hobby. Oils, lotions, books, toy skeletons, whatever you have!

6. Photos of cool graffiti! I have a strange obsession with graffiti and street art. (and exclamation points, if you hadn't picked up on it.) Any pictures of such that you find interesting, thought provoking, or just flat out awesome would be appreciated.

7. Random box of stuff! Anything you have lying around that you want to get rid of and can still be used. Have a mug from Disney Land you don't like anymore? Send it over. Did your jerk of an ex leave his t-shirt and you don't want it, but you don't want to give it back? I'll gladly take it! If there's a story behind it, tell me it; I'd love to hear it.

8. Spend some time with the people you love! Seriously, you people are lost too quickly these days, so take some time to spend with hte people you care about, and tell them you care!
