4 free rolls of Konica color 400ASA 120 format film...just send a postcard
I have 4 rolls of Konica 400ASA 120 format film I want to give to a good home. I'm not using these because my scanner can't handle the format, so I'm sticking with 35MM film in my Holga going forward. All I ask in return is that you send me a postcard that relates to where you live. The first person to email me at brendonm at gmail dot com with the subject "I want the Konica film!" gets them. I'll give you my postal address in email. This is NOT a scam folks -- I'm just another Holga lover like you all looking to give some good film away that I'm not going to use. Kodak b.w 400, some with filters Any shot of people wearing glasses here is part of an ongoing project of mine called "3D" where I have people be inconspicuous while wearing the new generation of 3-D Glasses I got from seeing Beowulf.
The rest are the highlights of my split-image filter stuff with a roll of Kodak 400 B/W. I was a little upset that I suck so much at remembering to focus my damned Holga, and I think b/w is just not the right medium for split images.
As an aside, WTF is with the "drag a new mouth on the lady" banner that's on LJ now? It was up while I was writing this.

Also seen, sorta, at Lomography... Here's part 1: http://community.livejournal.com/lomography/2908817.html and part 2: http://community.livejournal.com/lomography/2911742.html
I've gotten the following: -- Masks (a Lady Infocorn fear) -- Windowless doors/"something" behind it (another Lady Infocorn one; she has the awesomest fears, paired with holygoddess part 2) -- Creepy Critters (snakes, bugs, etc.) -- Painful death (thanks </a></font></b></a> themenow part 1) -- The Dark (thanks </a></font></b></a> worn_words part 1) This one's a planned double exposure. -- Detuned television (that's one of mine) -- BabyCorn is missing (also me) -- Miscellaneous death (everyone) last resort; seems awfully cheap -- Japanese onryo ghosts (also holygoddess) -- abaondonment/loss of everyone you care for -- public speaking (again, thinking this will be last resort; may require a location shoot to do what I want with it) -- medical fears -- mirrors (though without the eels, courtesy dearbrains in part 1) -- claustrophobia
I'm planning to shoot mask-less with the Holga, using b/w 400 ASA, and a flash, so I'll have 12 exposures. If I had some really good ones I'd go with the mask and shoot 16, but eh.
Two questions: 1) When using your holga, what stuff can really dirty-up the image? I've an idea to use a technique with markers and inclusions stuf to/written on clear packing tape over the lens. I've done that with my POP-9/ActionSampler to neato ends. In any event, I'd like all my effects to be as non-photoshop as possible and I don't want to alter my lens in a permanent way (e.g. scratching it with a pin or whatever).
2) especially for the detuned TV and the door one...really all of them, I want to crank the shadow/spooky aspect here but am 100% amateur and don't have any fancy lighting rigs. Ideas? For the doors/unknown one, I have an idea. Our basement-- where I think the majority of this will be shot, as it can be quite spooky-- has a great long closet room where our sump pump drain and some other stuff all are. The shot-- in my mind's eye-- has my lights at the far end, opposite where the big metal door is, casting a shadow of either my model or whatever on the back wall. No other overhead light. I'm shooting with the door in the frame, catching just the light spilling out and the shadow on the wall.
Thanks in advance!

Macro Holga Hey guys,I was trying to find some info on Holga macro photography and I searched high and low on google and flickr with little to no luck. So I decided to take a test roll today. It worked pretty well so I wanted to share with you guys. Taken with Fuji 120 color slide film. I was driving down Centinella Blvd in Los Angeles and saw a carnival at a Catholic Church/School and took a multiple exposures from my car. I'm still finding my way with my Holga and more importantly scanning in slides and negatives on my HP 3310 All-in-One -- it's been quite a challenge to get this far, even with 2 B&W photo classes back in college -- but having fun.
