Hi, I do intend to keep updating and stamping in this community as lax and delayed as it might be!
I'd appreciate it if you'd give a vote the way of these applications, they don't really have enough to stamp. http://community.livejournal.com/hogwartssorting/711928.html http://community.livejournal.com/hogwartssorting/712116.html http://community.livejournal.com/hogwartssorting/713163.html http://community.livejournal.com/hogwartssorting/713358.html http://community.livejournal.com/hogwartssorting/714324.html http://community.livejournal.com/hogwartssorting/714721.html http://community.livejournal.com/hogwartssorting/714756.html http://community.livejournal.com/hogwartssorting/715108.html
Thank you to those of you new folk who have been sorting, I really appreciate it. Those of you who were just stamped, please take the time to do some voting! I count up points for voting when an application is stamped, so if the app you voted on hasn't been stamped, your points haven't been counted yet. Even though technically it's a new term I will just continue the points from last term. ( points by member ) House point standings are: Gryffindor:330 Hufflepuff:356 Slytherin:210 Ravenclaw:220
For the results of our caption contest!
The winning caption is...... 8.Don't look so concerned Hermione. It's alright that Harry has a book you haven't read yet. by tmkline of Slytherin, winning 20 pts for Slytherin Tied for second is 1."Look! I told you that Dumbledore posed for Playgirl." and 2."'Transfiguration for Dummies.' Good for you, Harry." both by auroracita of Ravenclaw winning 10 points.
third is 3."101 Ways to Charm you Witch...tip #34: offer her the open sofa seat instead of the bowl of snacks. See, Hermione, it says so right here." spinnerchick14 of Hufflepuff winning 5 points
and honorable mentions to 6.Harry, isn't the whole idea of a diary a bit, well, girly for Voldemort? Wouldn't you think? Because really, he's supposed to be this scary, evil force, and you expect us to believe that he kept a diary? by coninator (unsorted I believe)
Thanks for participating! [Bad username: littleredmorrain] should have banners for you guys soon!

| For you Gary Oldman fans... |
[21 Jul 2008|09:39pm] |
Good Guy at Heart LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- In some earlier parallel universe of Batman's Gotham City, it might have been Gary Oldman instead of Heath Ledger cackling and conniving as the maniacal Joker.
Nowadays, Oldman is dogged, upright cop Jim Gordon in the Batman world or the solicitous Sirius Black, the surrogate father to boy wizard Harry Potter.
This is not your father's Gary Oldman, the actor who built his reputation on such characters as prince of punk-rock anarchy Sid Vicious, presidential assassin Lee Harvey Oswald or Dracula himself.
In fact, Oldman has kind of become your father -- a pillar of paternalism, a symbol of saintliness. The man you want covering your back, rather than the one you would never turn your back on.
