HOGWARTS LIVE - A Harry Potter RPG


When hogwarts_live began, there was no Half Blood Prince.
Well, there was, but we didn't know he was a Half Blood Prince.
So he's not.

This is one of many potentially confusing facts which separate hogwarts_live and what is now canon. Don't worry. Although we've deviated, we did in fact get many things "right" in terms of what Jo Rowling wrote in her sixth book. A tribute, we think, to the quality of our players.

Are we going to "right" the remaining deviations from canon? Don't be silly. hogwarts_live has been going for two years. Also, we think this story's just as good...

Welcome to the Hogwarts LiveJournal Experiment.

In 1996, thanks to Arthur Weasley at the Ministry of Magic, Hogwarts was supplied with specially adapted computers, on which staff and students have set up their own LiveJournals (with a little help from some knowledgable Muggles).

And then, at the end of the summer term of 1998, Hogwarts was attacked.

Also...our game might have deviated from Rowling's plot, but it remains very much a canon world. If you don't know what 'canon' means, go away and don't come back until you a) know what it means and b) intend to stick to it as best you can. We had a goth student once. She was eaten by a werewolf. No, not Remus. Another werewolf. They never did find her Hot Topic hoodie.
There are various opinions on what constitutes 'canon' play. There are some people who argue that Sirius/Remus is canon. Not here, it's not. Besides, that would be necrophilia and we don't hold with that. Shut up, Lucius.
Basically, we're not in it for the smut, at all. Sure, some characters will hook up, just as they do in Rowling's books. But it's not a relationship-based RP. If you're looking for one of those, there are plenty to be found elsewhere. Enjoy!
