The year is 999 AD. Six years ago, four of the greatest witches and wizards of the age - Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin - founded Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Now the time is approaching for the first class of students to complete their wizarding education and show the world what Hogwarts is capable of. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

You may call us the Unholy Trinity if you wish.Starting mid-term this year, Rowena Ravenclaw began a project to help continue her quest to improve student literacy, as during this time the majority of younger students would enter the school with very limited reading and writing abilities. Each student was given a journal in which they could write about anything they wish. Each journal was linked to the journals of every other student, allowing everyone to read what others had written. To help those who are still struggling with literacy, each journal was also given the ability to be dictated to and to read aloud to students if necessary. | To provide help and guidance in this matter, all staff members also have been given journals. While everything students write can be seen by anyone with a journal, the staff members have created a system through which they can write only to certain individuals. It is foreseeable that the students, especially those in the upper years, may one day discover this magic or create a system of filtering entries of their own. Classes in the RPG are slightly different than we have been shown in the Harry Potter series. Students attend classes with every other student in their year, regardless of the house which they were sorted into. Because there are only four teachers, various subjects have been put together. The classes are taught as follows: | Potions/Herbology: Helga Hufflepuff Defense Against the Dark Arts/Care of Magical Creatures: Salazar Slytherin Charms/Transfiguration: Godric Gryffindor Reading/Writing/Arithmetic (1st to 3rd years): Rowena Ravenclaw Arithmancy/Astronomy/Ancient Runes (4th years and above): Rowena Ravenclaw Students will have free time during the day. Students in the older years also will have independent studies in the subjects which are not directly taught at Hogwarts at this time. There are no formal tests such as the OWLS and NEWTs at this point in time. Game play will occur primarily through first person entries in the student/staff journals. Please post entries to your character journal as well as the community. Having a link from the character journal to the comm entry is a plus and can be done easily by adding a comment to the personal journal post. | For interaction that does not occur on the journals, the ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} hogwartsfic community will be used.
