Come Play Hockey at Anthrocon!

Where: Ice Castle Arena, Pittsburgh PA
Cost: FREE!

Yes, I said FREE!

Considering that some of you may have to have your gear shipped to the hotel or pay the airline for checking in an additional bag, a sponsor has stepped forward and the cost of the ice has been taken care of! Again, there is NO cost to you!

If you're a beginner (like me) and want to get a taste of the ice and stick handling, this is the PERFECT opportunity for you to have fun and not feel pressured or intimidated about getting on the ice. There will be no scores, just fun!

For those who cannot get their to AC, or do not (yet) play hockey and would like to come and watch, you are welcome to come along!

Please RSVP to here or send an email to hockeyfurs @ ungulate.net, include your name and an email address (comments are screened) and I will put together an official invitation and confirm your spot as well as to help with transportation to and from the rink. All email addresses will be BCC'd for privacy.

The rink will require a helmet so you'll most definitely need that, as for the rest of the gear - some folks may have some extra stuff that they can bring if they know what you need, post here what sizes and what gear you need and hopefully someone can help you out!

I would love to play but all my gear (outside my skates) Is in alberta =\ I have a beaten up road hockey stick..

I had a blast at the last one which is why I wanted to put it together at AC, so far we have 7 confirmed and 3 more maybes (including you)! I'm hoping for 12 which is how many we had on our last one.

See what you can do, if you need help with your gear let me know - I can take a number of hockey bags with me on my drive, there's 3 weeks so there's plenty of time to arrange shipping :)

Awesome! Shoot me an email or an LJ message when you have a chance, let me know how you plan on getting your gear out there too. If needed, I can take about 4 bags and even more if I rent/borrow a trailer :)

Awesome! FYI - 3 goalies will be there - one has gear to play out if needed. Do you play out as well?
