John Adams
Based on David McCullough's Pulitzer-prize winning, best-selling autobiography, HBO films is presenting an epic, 7-part miniseries event beginning March 16th, 8PM (Eastern). Starring Paul Giamatti as John Adams, and Laura Linney as Abigail; Executively produced by Tom Hanks.

As John Adams is my number one historical figure, I can hardly describe how enthralled I am for this. This enthusiasm is what defines me as a history nerd. I highly encourage you to go to the website and watch the trailer and other clips. It looks amazing, and so well-done. If you're a Revolutionary War buff or not, I say clear your calendars and reserve your spot in front of the television for those Sundays!

Speaking of Hanks (and Spielberg too), they are doing another "Band of Brothers" type series also for HBO and I think it comes out next year. This time they are focusing on the Marines especially the 'Canal, Peleiu, and Okinawa. They are basing this one on the experiences of Basilione (sp?) how won the Medal of Honor at the 'Canal, EB Sledge (With the Old Breed) and Robert Lekie (Helmet for My Pillow). It will be intersting to see how the portray Peleiu.
