hired_writers is a community exclusively for working freelance writers and authors. Whether you are novice, intermediate or a professional freelancer, you are welcome here. Feel free to post market listings, to discuss problems/concerns specific to working freelancers and to "talk shop" with other working freelancers. If you are not a working freelancer, but you are curious about freelance writing and would like to ask questions, you are welcome here too. We aren't elitist here; everyone should treat everyone else with respect and drama is not something we want here. If you have personal issues with another writer or if you only have negative comments to make about a certain editor, publisher, agent or otherwise, please do not post that here. This community is for people who consider themselves working writers and who are interested in discussing topics such as:* Strategies for locating paying markets

There are countless other issues specific to freelance writing, but those are just an example of what will be discussed here. Our motto is "Write. Sell. Repeat." If you write as a hobby, there is *nothing* wrong with that. But here, we want to concentrate on writing as a profession (either part-time or full-time).
Please do not post long stories, poetry or novel excerpts for critiques. This is not a critique community. Our aim here is to discuss the topics that are germane to freelance writing.
In addition, please feel free to talk about your current project or past projects. Once you join, please introduce yourself to other members. Don't be afraid to mention if you're new to freelance writing - this community is meant to be supportive of new freelancers who are just learning the ropes.
