Welcome to Hip Anime/Manga icons! The concept of this community is very simple. There are numerous communities to post anime/manga icons, but let's face it - communities are often spammed with bad icons made in 5 seconds. I created this community for good icons. Use layers. Download fonts no one else uses. Use brushes. Don't just throw on some text and a 1px border. This is for good icons. Hence the word "hip!"

How can I become a member?
It's easy! Simply apply here with your icons and await a verdict. Please make sure to apply with the journal (either your icon journal or main journal) that you wish to post with. Once you have been accepted, go here to get your invitation.
DO NOT click "join" to gain membership! I will ignore your request. The only way to join is to apply with your icons.
Can I still friend the community if my icons aren't accepted?
Of course. You can always watch the community and use member's icons (with their permission, of course).
How do you feel about LJ-cuts?
Please use an lj-cut when posting more than 3 icons.
Can I apply a second time after being rejected?
Yes, you can apply as many times as you'd like. However, I wouldn't apply again too quickly or else you'll be rejected again. Try icon_tutorial and browse the icons here to improve your skills.

Please don't take offense! You can always apply again later. Anything I say is only meant as constructive critism, so don't take it personally.
Can I post things other than icons?
Wallpapers, friends only banners, etc. are prefectly fine. I just ask that you post some icons too every once and a while.

No, but you can try community_promo.
