As you may or may not have noticed, the beautiful layout at hikarunogo is no more. T_T I was forced to switch to the S2 style in order to change some settings, and I don't know anything when it comes to how to go about changing the layout of LJ communities (or journals, for that matter) beyond choosing pre-made ones!

So. Layout Design Contest. This contest is informal and prizes may or may not materialize. ^_^;;;; I realize I have nothing to offer, but I do have Hikago merchandise/doujinshi (at least, I live in Tokyo, I can buy something... right?) Please make a layout for the community!

Rules:

• Layouts can be posted elsewhere (for example, on a dummy journal) or sent as a ZIP file with instructions on how to use it. (I'm really not very good at this LJ layout thing...)
• The layout must be related to Hikaru no Go (bonus points for actual artwork).
• The layout needs to work with free accounts.
• Worksafe, PLEASE. ♥

• This contest will run until August 31st, 2009.
• Your mod (aiwritingfic) will choose a layout, with or without the help of the community (I might run a poll...)

I'd like to propose to you all the creation of a sort of meta-post resource list for Hikago fandom, for use as a general fandom resource. I know that there's a substantial bit of meta out there, but most of it is either older or posted in personal journals (or both). I'm not asking anyone to do anything extensive, but if any of you have either Delicious tags, memories, or meta posts that you could link me to in the comments, I'd appreciate it ridiculously.

I'm currently working on a project which requires panels from my favourite manga series to complete. And, of course, Hikaru no Go is one of those series~

So I need your help, as I want it to appeal to anime fans. If you could, please link me to (or upload!) your absolute favourite panels from Hikaru no Go. It could be something funny, something touching, something emotional... anything. It just has to stick out from the series. <3.

Last night I did a random gay marriage drabble request meme on my LJ. Sadly, this did not keep the California Supreme Court from making the wrong decision. But... someone requested Saeki/Ashiwara fic, so at least something good came out of it!

I just started char_dev, a pan-fandom community for fic about under-appreciated/-utilized characters. Go ahead, tell us about Akari's college life! Nase's new boyfriend! Mitani's sister and her newfound obsession with 14th century woodcuts!

I thought this would be a particularly applicable comm for HikaGo, since there are so many characters you see for a volume or two and then they disappear forever. ^^ And it's a new place to get people to read your stuff! ;)

I'm probably way too excited about this . . . It's my first time administrating a community, and this is one I'm really hoping turns into a nice place. I'm probably wrong, but oh well . . . ^^

Part I: Stain

In the shadow of a booming tower speaker, Namikawa Reiji knelt in front of a quartet of boxes and sneezed. His long black hair was tied into a messy ponytail with a drawstring formerly belonging to his dingy gray sweatpants. A safety pin struggled to hold up his pants and failed, the downward creepage revealing boxer brief waistband. His faded Harley T-shirt came from a place called Oops A Nail No, according to the crumbling screenprint on its back.

"You told me you'd be ready at six-thirty. It's seven."

Namikawa pushed a stray lock of hair out of one eye, leaving a gray dust-smear on his forehead. "I'll be done in a second."
