[I used a new tag, hope that's okay.]I just recently got back into Higurashi, but I was hoping to have a discussion about it with you all. Hopefully it will be worth it. :)
I just got done reading a
blog, in which the author really seemed to bash the Higurashi series as a whole. The man seems to me like he is plain ignorant, but that's not why I am writing this.
Do you, as a fan of the Higurahi no Naku Koro Ni anime, agree with the statement "Anime encourages murder" in reference to Higurashi?
I, for one, do not agree with this statement at all. How can a cartoon encourage someone to kill a person? I have never been for the theory that television could cause violence. It's kind of like the Death Note controversy. No one will die from one student writing another student's name in a notebook.
Higurashi is just a horror anime meant for a more mature audience, in all honesty. I am sixteen years old, and I know when enough is enough. I know that I can't kill someone and get away with it. I've seen pleanty of horror anime series and plenty of movies - and I haven't even had a slight urge to kill anyone.
Sorry for babbling, please discuss! I'd like to hear your opinions! :)
