AboutHave you ever been called oversensitive?

You may be a Highly Sensitive Person. If so, this community may be for you.
The Highly Sensitive Person is a concept developed and presented in the books The Highly Sensitive Person, The Highly Sensitive Person's Workbook, and The Highly Sensitive Person in Love written by Elaine N. Aron, PhD. You can find information on the web about the concepts discussed in Dr. Aron's books at The Highly Sensitive Person Homepage. I hate to sound redundant here, but since this community's core concept is drawn from Dr. Aron's work, having at least some familiarity with her concept of an HSP is pretty much necessary for members of this community.
Terms and Conditions
In general, this is to be an environment that is supportive and conducive to inquiry. Spitefulness, contempt for other members, vicious and/or unreasonably/intentionally annoying behavior and misanthropy are entirely unwelcome.
I had hoped not to have to do this, but the following things are NOT appropriate here:
- toggle case.
- unreasonably incoherent spelling, grammar or punctuation.
- posts which are nothing more than advertisements.
- entries/comments that are not related to being an HSP or this community.
- entries/comments which violate the above Terms and Conditions
Nobody is going to jump down your throat for a typo here or there, for being a bad speller or having the occasional ramble, but deliberately non-cogent entries are not acceptable. I don't want to police this community -- I really feel that something like this is best left to grow and change in its own way -- but if things get out of hand, I will do so. I have in the past banned people who prove themselves unable or unwilling to abide by these terms. Should it become necessary, I will not hesitate to do so in the future.
By joining or posting to this community, you are showing your agreement to these terms and your understanding of the community's purpose.
This community has been unfortunately forced to operate on a members-only, rather than an open membership basis. The only reason for this is to prevent further vicious attacks on members and to screen out those who would only join to make such attacks or otherwise troll.
