The Community for Highlander Muses & Writers

About:

The Community

Purpose: To create a prompt, fic and roleplay community exclusive to Highlander and it's films, books, shows and fandom that is of the highest quality in writing and characterization.

Premise: Each Monday, a topic specific to the fandom will be posted. Prompt responses can be posted within the community journal and the muse journal. Also, unlike many other communities, roleplay is welcome inside the community. So, if you see a response that triggers a conversation, you can play it out here. There is no minimum word count, but quality writing is essential. Poor writing or characterization can lead to your muse being replaced by another.

Membership: There can be only one...version, that is...of any muse. Outside of this community, people play with different versions of muses. That's fine, in fact, it's normal. Within the community, however, there is only one. Please respect that in your prompt responses. For example, if in another community you are lovers or enemies with one muse through the roleplay you do, and someone else has that muse in here, please don't put in your prompts that that muse did something. If you have any concerns, contact a mod.

You can have a muse that is:

1. A canon Highlander character, from the films, series or books. Immie. Kimmie. Watcher. Whatever.

2. A historical figure turned into a Highlander Immortal. These can be a lot of fun, transplanting them into modern times.

3. Original characters of an exceptional nature, or that have been written and played in other communities for more than six months. The mods reserve the right to reject any OC that is lacking foundation or characterization. Highlander has some of the best writers in its fandom, who love to create original Immies and Watchers. So please do apply with great OC's.

4. Mortals who have direct canon relations with Immortals or Watchers from the canon sources. Not invented. Not OC's. Only mortals who were seen in the canon sources.
Rules: Simply? Behave like an adult, be nice, and treat others with courtesy and respect. Don’t post off topic spam. Don’t flame, abuse or attack others. Even within set canon, some people may view things differently than you do. Respect each other.

To hold a muse, or to apply for a muse, post your request on this post. Mods will check the applications daily, and will reply to you within 24 hours. That is our promise to you.

Criticism: If you want to have people give you their honest view of your character, fic or storyline, feel free to post and ask for it. However, while we encourage all members to be respectful, you might hear some criticism that stings. Don’t throw a fit, or get whangsty. If you want honest criticism, then you have to suck it up and hear it out. You may not agree, but you have to listen.

Posts: Please put all pictures and spoilers behind a cut and label them. Anything that is not work safe or is graphic must be labeled and behind a cut. If you want to link to your own site for graphics or fics, feel free.

Finally…
The mods reserve the right to deny, remove or ban any member who acts in a hostile, abusive, disrespectful or dishonest manner in this community, with or without warning. We also reserve the right to remove any post that is deemed inappropriate, off topic or without merit in the context of the community, and to reject any application or remove any member for any reason.
