This Australian/Tasmanian outfit’s fourth album follows the path set by previous work, with a rootsy pop sound that pays careful attention to the balance of craft and heart. Admittedly, there’s nothing particularly distinctive about the group’s stylistic milieu, but leader Kim Pearce’s plainspoken vocals and strong writing, reminiscent of the late, great Grant McLennan, keep songs like “Every Minute,” “Just Remind Me” and “One We Go” from being undistinguished. On the evidence of this and its prior albums, I’m shocked that Hey Mook isn’t already in the pantheon of No Depression fans everywhere. Michael Toland
