AboutThis community was started as a place to post drabbles related to baseball fanfiction.
Definitions of terms:
high and tight -- referring to a pitch that's up in the strike zone and inside on a hitter. Also known as "up and in."
fanfiction -- fiction written by fans, based on real people (i.e. Derek Jeter, Pudge Rodriguez, Nomar Garciaparra, Ryan Madson, etc.) or fictional characters, for example, Harry Potter, Yu-Gi-Oh, My Little Pony, and so on and so forth.
drabble -- a work of fiction that is limited to 100 words.
baseball fandom -- encompasses the game of baseball as a whole. Usually limited to professional baseball (MLB), but may include minor leagues, fictional characters who play baseball, and so on and so forth.
1. This community is for baseball-related drabbles. If you have questions about the community and how it works, or if you have suggestions or complaints, you can email the moderators at xhighandtightx@yahoo.com, or our spiffy new a.i.m. screenname, xhighandtightx
2. Your drabble can be het, slash, or gen. It can be angst, romance, humor, sci-fi, etc. The only limitation is that it has to be baseball-related.
3. The strict definition of a drabble is a work of writing exactly 100 words. No more, no less. However, Christy and I have decided to 'modify' that to encompass the 90-110 word range. If you post a piece of writing over 110 words, you will be fed to my pet iguana. Just kidding. I don't have an iguana.
4. LJ-cuts are your friend. If you do not know how to LJ-cut, go here.
5. Any rating is permissable, from G to NC-17, but please rate your drabbles upon posting.
6. If you suspect your drabble may contain material that others might find offensive, make use of the lj-cut and please put up a content warning.
7. Positive comments and constructive criticism are highly recommended. Flaming is not. But I don't suspect we'll be having that problem here ^^
8. Also, please include a simple header when posting a drabble, like:
title: (if you have one)
rating:
pov:
author:
And it might be wise to include a disclaimer w/your post too. Such as this one *points down*
