What is a Stamping Community?

A stamping community is a community in which your peers read your filled out application and give their vote; various communities operate different ways. Rating Communities usually give Yes or No votes, whereas the system at

platform_934 operates on a Four Houses/Muggle/No Vote system.

Here, members will read and vote with a Character from the Potterverse. If they believe you are most similar to Ginny Weasley, they will vote accordingly, etc. There are currently two themes, in addition to the regular character stamping. They are the Matchmaker Theme, through which you can be matched with your ideal love interest from the Potterverse, and the Hybrid theme, though which you can be stamped with your hybrid house. You must have been stamped as a regular character before you can be Matched or Hybridized.

At the end of each Hogsmeade Weekend, the tallies will be counted and you will be officially 'Stamped' as the majority character. You'll receive a banner and be added to the Roster. For the most accurate stamping, please be sure to fill out your application completely and as thoroughly as possible!

Are there any requirements?

You must be a member of Hogwarts is Home (

hogwartsishome), your House's common room (

gryff_lions,

the_puff_house,

ravenclaw_house, or

cunningfolk), and the Hogsmeade community (

hogsmeadewkends).

How do I know how to Vote? Is there a list?

Do I earn points here?

Every regular application vote is worth five points. If you vote on all of the regular applications dropped in a Hogsmeade weekend, you will receive an extra 30 points and 15 knuts. Additionally, every themed application vote is worth three points. Please be sure that you sign your votes with your house, or else they will not count! You can use signature tags.

Voting Schedule

No more than ten (10) applications per day will be pushed through on Hogsmeade Weekends, which occur roughly every six weeks. The pool of no more than thirty (30) will remain up until the end of the weekend (sometime during the following Monday) when they'll be officially stamped.

Fill out as much of the application as possible; DO NOT ALTER THE CODING -- simply fill in your answers and post it! Please keep in mind that the community is moderated. We want each application to receive as many votes as possible so that they're accurate! Your post will be put into a queue, and you'll receive and email from Live Journal when it's posted.

If you get an error message telling you that the queue is full, this is probably because you already have an application in the queue. Since we only allow 30 applications through during each Hogsmeade weekend, we'll only let you post one at a time so that everyone gets a chance to get a stamp. You'll have to wait for the next trip to Hogsmeade. :)

After you're stamped, your application post will be edited so that it's tagged with your stamped character; in the future, members will be able to see all stamped members of one character with one easy click of the mouse!
