HEY!
So in ONE WEEK I am (sort of) going to be hosting a SUPER AWESOME Hey Arnold! Fan Chat!!!
Sadly, Craig Bartlett will NOT be attending. If someone wants to take it upon themselves to set up a chat with him, be my guest, but I don’t really have the energy or want to finagle Craig into a chat. Though, it wouldn’t be a terrible idea since Dinosaur Train is taking off.

In Round 4 our fave couple is going head-to-head with Peter Parker/Mary Jane "MJ" Watson and it's looking to be a very close match. That's why Helga/Arnold needs ALL YOUR support.

Eek! So I posted that trivia FOREVER ago and never followed up with the answers! I am so sorry! I got distracted and then totally forgot about it!
I went through and I think funnybones021 was the closest to being spot on. Though seraphimkiss and 8nnemiek were both super close. 8nnemiek it was Big Gino that was the loan shark (though you could probably make an argument that Torvald is one too) and seraphimkiss it's Dino Spumoni and Don Reynolds!
So under here are all the answers, pulled word-for-word from the trivia cards. Typos and all. The little bits next to the asterisks and in parentheses are my own interruptions and corrections, because Nick botched some of the questions/answers.

Hey Everyone! I suppose I should start by saying, "Nice to meet you!"
I'm a major Hey Arnold! fan (I'm sure that's no surprise since this is a community full of HA lovers). It was the show I would look forward to, coming home from school. It was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid, you know? And one of the few I still enjoy as an adult. I really miss watching it on television, and I'm glad there's at least a place I can come to and reminisce on good times with others who share the same interest. :) Hooray for this community!
Anyway, aside from introductions, I've been lurking around this community for a good while. I'm sorry I haven't taken the initiative to get involved until now, but hey, better late than never, right? I was actually working on a fanmix dedicated to the relationship between Helga and Arnold. I have several great love songs lined up (like "Everyday is a Holiday With You" by Esthero and "Fallin' For You" by Colbie Caillat), along with some jazz and french music (to allude to the series via Arnold's taste in music and the two's "French" experience). So far, the compilation is coming together nicely, but as I was working on this fanmix, I had the itch to add some Dino Spumoni and Jim Lang songs as well—after all, it's an important part of the show! So I came to the conclusion that I wanted to make a fanmix for the entire show too, and not just for the couple.
I want to put together an album of songs that make you think of the show (something a person could listen to while reading some fiction, even). I imagine it would be divided into section and look something like this:
The "Hey Arnold!" Fanmix (Creative Title in the works?) - First, and most importantly, the intro to the show will be the first track on the album.
- This should then be followed by a section dedicated to the kids of PS-118. This part should be made up of a few songs that remind you of the group of kids as a collective whole—something upbeat and related to school.
- Then comes the songs that remind you of each individual kid and the friendships between them, like Arnold and Gerald or Sid and Stinky, etc. In addition to all of these non-HA songs, we should have the original tracks composed by Jim Lang for those specific characters, too (In example, we can have the infamous tune that plays when Helga has one of her romantic outbursts included in the section just for Helga, or something like that).
- And the last track should be something also particularly important to the show, like the ending credit song in the episode "Parent's Day."
I realize that this is going to take some work, and honestly, I don't think I have the motivation to do it all by myself. That's why I came here. What could be more special than putting an album together with the community? It's just one way we can get the community involved, I think. If anyone has any suggestions for the fanmix, I'd love to hear them! And if anyone want's to help put it together, well—great! Just leave a comment. :) I hope we can make a successful album together.

i was so tempted to end my subject title with 'arnold!' but i refrained. =p
anyway this is my first post to the comm, just saying hi! :) my name's sam & i'm in college now but totally watched hey arnold as a kid (and enjoy watching it for that 90s nostalgia, obviously...<3) so yay. :] but i also have like, another question about fanfiction from the nick.com site - it used to be posted on the message boards over there a looong time ago and there was this one story that i remember being like, insanely popular. it was about helga creating almost like an alter-ego ballet dancer (i think the name she used was adrienne or something lol) and using this...like, persona, i guess, to get closer to arnold. it was soo popular it was ridiculous, or at least that's what it felt like at the time when i read it. idk, does anyone remember reading a story like that? or even remember reading old school fanfictions where stories were written like...
sid: it's wheezin' ed!...and some other guy!

like a screenplay, kind of!
hahaha if you've heard of it though let me know because i'd like to think i'm not completely imagining this story!! =)

There is a new interview on wired.com with Kath Soucie (voice of Miriam Pataki) which briefly touches on Hey Arnold. Here's the excerpt:
I’m completely geeking out at this point, because she has started to adopt the voices as she describes the characters. "Oh! And Miriam Pataki! Miriam’s great. On this Nickelodeon show, ‘Hey Arnold!’ I played Miriam Pataki, who is the mom of one of the kid characters in the show. With the writers, we wanted to do something a little bit subversive with the character, so there are hints throughout that she’s kind of an alcoholic – whatever she’s drinking out of you’ll hear the faint clink of ice cubes, or she’ll seem to black out for a minute. Her voice is fun to do, too – it’s a little pinched and sort of rushed." I can’t do justice in print to what it’s like to hear Kath switch into a character voice. It’s all I can do not to crack up.
