This community was designed to share and display photographs and images of the most fascinating animals per se, reptiles & amphibians. Whether you are an aspiring professional photographer or a herp-enthusiast with a passion for photography, we would like to see your pictures. While there are some general rules that must be followed, it is a losely moderated community, and largely encourages a free spirit attitude and the full epxression of the art of photography.
Community Guidelines:
1. You are not obligated to post pictures by joining this community. While most members do enjoy sharing their work, others simply prefer to admire the images that are being posted. Feel free to observe and socialize, and comment on the photos displayed by others.
2. Please be courteous and post no more than 2 pictures without using an lj cut. Those two pictures outside of a cut should no larger in width than 750, in order to keep them within a friends-list friendly format. Any pictures placed within a cut can be of any size and number, though dial-up warnings are appreciated when posting a great number of shots in one post.
3. Please do not post any photos or images other than your own, unless you have obtained specific authorization by the owner of the pics for their display here. If such an authorization has been granted, please be sure to give full credit to the owner of the images.
4. Please make sure that your photos are well-focused and generally of at least decent quality. Please do not post blurry or dark pictures. We wish to maintain a minimum standard for the work displayed here, and wish to encourage everyone to show off some of their favorite shots.
5. Please be courteous when replying to someone's post. While we certainly do encourage constructive criticism and enjoy a good debate, personal attacks and/or name calling will not be tolerated.
6. Please do not post questions pertaining to captive husbandry and care here, other than those directly related to photography. There are many lists and forums that deal with captive management issues, but the aim of this community is to focus more or less exclusively on herp photography.
