Writers Strike
How the writers strike will affect Heroes:

Heroes' second season may be coming to a close a lot sooner than expected due to the forthcoming apocalypse, also known in some circles as the damn writers' strike.

Sources confirm that the show is going back and shooting an alternate ending to the Dec. 3 episode that, if used, would allow the episode to function as a season finale in the event of a strike. Originally, the episode was only supposed to serve as the conclusion of the current "Generations" arc. Should an 11th-hour agreement be reached and a strike averted (fingers crossed!), the alt ending would likely be scrapped.

Well I'm glad they have some sort of plan. That's actually a pretty clever idea. It doesn't really look very good for the strike to be averted, they're already planning to start Monday from what I hear. So at least this way they can make mini closure for the unforeseen hiatus.

*raises brow* Okay, these guys have known for a year now that this was going to happen. This is why everyone started shooting early as they wouldn't be able to do anything during the writer's strike. By all accounts early on it just appeared to be a hiatus in filming til next year. What's with the sudden DOOM accounts floating around now? Does this mean Heroes is having a shorter season, or are we breaking for a little bit & coming back next year?? I heard some ppl saying yesterday that they could be filming into March. I'm so lost by all this :(

Oh crap.

But it's actually pretty great that they have a plan in case no agreement can be reached.

At least they've formulated some sort of plan instead of just ending mid-season like most of the rest of our shows will.

(I really love your icon, btw. As soon as that shot was on the show, I wanted an icon of it.)

At this point, it is extremely unlikely that they will reach a deal before Monday. I hope this alternate ending has already been written out, because they won't have anything to film if it isn't.

http://www.variety.com/index.asp?layout=hottopic&id=2821 and http://www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com/ - they have a lot of info on the strike, if anyone's looking for continuous updates.

This so bites!!!! I recall earlier strikes, and you think they would have worked things out back then and not have to do this again :(

Great, now I get to hate mondays again.

What can us fans do?

question... if the writers' strike and the season ends early, does that mean the actors do not get paid for the rest of the year? Basically, they are losing about 1/2 year of pay, right?

*raises fists to greedy bastards; however, recognizes their genius in providing the words that will come out of my adorable David Anders' mouth. GAH!*

Where can I find a list of all shows that will be affected...I hope my other favorite show (House) isn't going to wind up like this, no matter how stupid season four of House has been so far.
