Leave a comment apparently panda shirts are the new trend on atlantis @ 09:38 pmJust a quick post to let ya'll know I'm still alive and kicking after almost 2 weeks of school..Speaking of which, after my run on Friday I'm plunking down on the sofa with some vodka and cranberry and watching 'SGA' the vodka is in honor of the awesomeness that I'm sure will be this weeks episode, as most "rodney centric" episodes are. I will be so exhausted, how the hell am I going to get through this semester if I'm ready for a break after 2 weeks. Thank goodness for democrats who allow me such mercies on a side note, I just read that this season will be the last for SGA, which yeah is sad, but also not surprising, they are starting to run out of plot lines, and I have seen repeats of some things in season 4 from previous seasons, so let's hope this season is the best yet Speaking of the DNC...ok so all the media focus is on the Olympics right now, and rightly so, but pretty soon the media focus will shift here and everyone will get to see what Denver really looks like * ha ha* I've decided for "historical purposes" I will try to run a daily blog during the DNC, which will probably document my efforts to "meet" celebrities *crosses fingers for Jon Stewart*, but it might actually also include events of merit, we shall see. I'm going to be pretty busy reading for class and writing papers, so how successful I will be in my efforts to wander around the city will depend on that. ummm yeah that wasn't really a quick and dirty post *%&$*(#(#*%&^((#(#)%&^& @ 10:33 pmCurrent Mood:
pissed offFUCK YOU Sci-Fi Channel!!! The SCI FI Channel is ending Stargate Atlantis after five seasons, Multichannel News reports. http://www.gateworld.net/news/2008/08/i More thoughts after I cool down... New Job @ 10:28 pmCurrent Mood:
Current Music: Midtown-Give it Up
Finally found a new job, I swear I'm gonna end up working everywhere in this damn town eventually. It's actually a return to my first job so it's not new, I'll be working reception at the local vets office. Now that I have a job again I can relax, I've been kind of just floating around the last couple of weeks looking. Can go to the race in Detroit next week without any worry. :D Also I usually don't tune into Gymnastics, but I checked into NBC to see to see if BMX was on yet, and saw the Chinese gold medalist Yang Wei treating the Pommel(sp?) Horse like a real horse, I lol'd at that. He seems to have a very lively personality, Usually gymnasts always look Angry and Hungry to me, thats mostly the girls though. XD (no subject) @ 08:58 pmSo, my first impressions about school have totally changed. I'll just give a quick run through, for those of you who care. 1st - AP Government It seems easy, but we've barely even started anything in that class. 2nd - AP Pre-Calculus This class is kicking my ass, but I know I'm not the only one. We recently got a "review packet," and I've never seen any of that material in my life. I feel like the dumbest one in that class, but I'm one of the few who actually try. :( 3rd - Food Service Fun, easy, lenient. 4th - Financial Literacy I don't like the teacher, but she doesn't care about talking, cell phones, etc. so it's cool. Plus, that's probably one of my easy A classes. 5th - Spanish III It seems like a challenge, but I know if I do the work and I study hard, I can easily pass. 6th - AP English 12 The teacher isn't as boring as I thought, but the class seems hard. We've going to be reading a big-ass novel like, every two/three weeks, and I hate reading. Damn! Just a few icons... @ 10:54 pmMovie Poster Fail @ 11:00 pmSo there's a nifty thing hosted by Empire Magazine where they ask you to Identify the Movie Poster from it's typography. Really. It's very cool. However. As of yet, everyone I know has expressed indignant frustration at #28. It's kind of hilarious, actually. Think ya'll can do better because I'm having fun keeping track. And no, don't tell me the answer, type it in the box and tell it to the website. The answer has pwned 7/8 (and one not attempted) people thus far! Stargate Atlantis cancelled....not a surprise **sniff** @ 10:47 pmCurrent Mood:
Right, this is all around livejournal so I will make it quick. SGA's season five will be the last : check article (Thanks It is sad, unfair and all bad feelings a fan can experience when his/her favorite show ends but... ...you can't say you didn't see that coming. This season is average, the ratings are barely okay and the promos' quality are not what they used to be. On the bright side...We will get a movie? Oh ... two more hours... hopefully the writers won't mess this up. I am still digesting the news so I am not yelling yet...gosh I will miss th show so much! **goes to depress under the covers** (no subject) @ 02:29 amCurrent Mood:
We went up whiteface mt today. I was terrified of the car ride up there.. And then we still had to climb the itty bitty stairs/rock trail up to the very top of the 4500+ steep mountain. I was nearly hysterical the whole way up but i refused to take the easy elevator. I dont think ive ever been acutely more scared in my life but i did get some nice photos & memories out of it. my friends held my hand & cheered me on the whole way. Good friends are apparently all you need to scale mountains! CAR!!!!! @ 10:31 pmCurrent Mood:

Whoo hoo! I just deleted an entry with a plea for help finding a Heroes fic I was looking for because not only did I find that story, I also found the one I was searching up, down, and sideways for a few weeks ago. Fuck yes. Long sentence was long and confusing but who cares, I feel accomplished. And now, pizza. But crap that should've been cut years ago will go on @ 10:03 pmCurrent Mood:
crushedEveryone else has posted it, but I want a record of it in my own LJ, and some might now have heard. SGA is done after this season. And selfish as it sounds, my first reaction was, "I hope Kavan get grabbed full time by Sanctuary or some other appropriate show." I'm sure they won't do shit with him or David Nykl in a movie. In a lot of ways, this bothers me more than the cancellation of SG-1, because we still had SGA left. Now have nothing but some vague promises of movies. And another thing. If they keep canceling all the SCI-FI programs on this channel, how are they going to justify calling it the fucking SCI-FI CHANNEL? I dedicate this icon to the Olympics Sportscasters... @ 07:25 pmHere are nine comments made by NBC sports commentators so far during the Summer Olympics that I bet they wish they could take back: 1. Weight-lifting commentator: "This is Gregoriava from Bulgaria. I saw her snatch this morning during her warm up and it was amazing." 2. Dressage commentator: "This is really a lovely horse and I speak from personal experience since I once mounted her mother." 3. Paul Hamm, Gymnast: "I owe a lot to my parents, especially my mother and father." 4. Boxing Analyst: "Sure there have been injuries, and even some deaths in boxing, but none of them really that serious." 5. Softball announcer: "If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again. In fact you can see it all over their faces." 7. At the rowing medal ceremony: "Ah, isn't that nice, the wife of the IOC president is hugging the cox of the British crew." 8. Soccer commentator: "Julian Dicks is everywhere. It's like they've got eleven Dicks on the field." 9. Tennis commentator: "One of the reasons Andy is playing so well is that, before the final round, his wife takes out his balls and kisses them... Oh, my God, what have I just said?" (no subject) @ 03:25 pmCurrent Mood:
I said I wouldn't post any more Dark Knight-related macros. I lied. ![]() The most exciting thing about today is that fact that I am having pizza tonight. Lazy Day @ 05:21 pmCurrent Mood:

So far today, I've done a whole lot of nothing, which is exactly what I should be doing during my break. I just watched the movie 1408, and it wasn't bad. I think I might make spaghetti tonight. ( But for now, here's a movie meme. ) NERDALERT. @ 04:15 pmCurrent Mood:
bored as fuck.Jackson And Del Toro To Write The Hobbit Lord Of The Rings filmmakers Peter Jackson and Guillermo Del Toro have called off their search for a writer to pen franchise prequel The Hobbit - after deciding they are best suited for the task. The Hobbit director del Toro and Jackson, who directed the first three original films, had previously launched a global search for a scribe to adapt J.R.R. Tolkien's classic to the big screen. But after eight months, the pair has announced their plans to tackle the movie and its follow-up themselves. Writers Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, who both collaborated with Jackson on the Rings trilogy, will join the filmmakers in the writers' room. Shooting on both movies, which will take place simultaneously, is slated to start in late 2009 in New Zealand, with The Hobbit expected for release in 2011 and its sequel in 2012. thoughtfulI was disturbed about GK's recent column about the state fair. I think that Pig Lover Anonymous should uprise and picket outside his home. (OMG, am I asking for trouble or not?) I am really upset about his treatment of pigs. Not so much the eating of pork, but the suggestion of whacking a pig. So, i went to salon.com and posted this comment on his column: GK, do you whack your children? Why would you whack a pig? If you are around your animals and know how to handle them, kind gestures and training go much farther than violence. In fact, llamas that are not very well trained are nasty animals that hiss and spit. I believe that Democrats want to view themselves as kind and not violent people. I am a proud Democrat, and I believe that you view yourself as proud Democrat, too. Then why view violence as a means of obedience? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
