Hi everyone, I wanted to share here the original zip files for Eternal's release of Matantei Loki volume 2 chapters 7 through 9. Get them here:

My real motive is this: the credits for ch8 and ch9 were only included as text files in the releases, so there's basically no credit given on the site. As the translator for those chapters, my ego won't let that stand. So please download and share the original zip files instead ~~and worship me~~.

Actually, those were translations done early in my scanlating career, so they're not the greatest... but they were still a lot of work.

Worked on this tiny tribute video to our favourite trickster God quite a while ago but I didn't have the chance to post it up since I was busy in Boston then.

o_o I just HAD to pick a Linkin Park song but NONE of them worked well for the vids except for THIS one and it ended up making Loki look so.....emo? XD!

There's hints of Mayura x Loki and if you squint rather hard, a hint of Heimdall x Loki in there and some Freya x Loki and some Loki x Spica XD and more.

I was aiming to make the song sung from Loki's point of view mostly >_>' Enjoy moi crappiness.

If you like things based on Norse myth, I highly recommend Eight Days of Luke by Diana Wynne Jones, if it hasn't been recced on the group already. It becomes AU of the Edda later on, and is closer to Edda 'canon' in that while Loki's a great guy he's a prankster who is not that careful about the consequences of his actions as opposed to the pre-Christianization mythology home and hearth god this series uses for characterization, but it's my second favorite book by her, after Archer's Goon and before the third-place tie between Hexwood and Howl's Moving Castle. You've got to love the ravens. They're not comic relief, they're just great. Read it and you'll see what I mean.

Do they ever address in this series that Slepnir, Odin's eight-legged horse, is one of Loki's kids via a pre-marital affair?

I would really like to know if there are any good Loki/Spica(Angrboda) fics out there. I mean, since he's the family man he is most other pairings lost any appeal once it was revealed in the manga that his wife was still alive. In the anime, she's the one that shows up, under Odin's control and there's a lot involving snappping her out of it, at the end of the last episode after the credits. I seriously doubt he'd cheat on her. I've only read the two officially translated volumes with her, and I want more, because they're just cute and sweet.

Am I the only one who thinks Thor/Yamino is cute? Yamino really likes cooking and looking after people, Narukami needs serious looking after. I don't have my manga with me, but I hope my memory that there was a cute scene with maid Spica and Yamino working together is accurate. Such a warped mother & 'daughter' moment. One of the early myths features Utgard Loki tricking Thor into hooking Midgarsorm and trying to reel him in. XD I could see him trying to set those two up, I really could. And Yamino would be all, Dad! And Loki would be smiling in that way he does...

Heimdall/Hel: Was I the only one who thought these two were cute? And people don't die in Norse myth, they just switch country of residence. ...oh good lord. If Loki and Freyr find out about their daughter/emo roommate having issues in common (Heimdall is Odin's son) and getting along, there is going to be the epic matchmaking conspiracy from Jotunheim and Vanaheim. Tell me there is fic. Asgard was where the aesir lived. Loki, who was a jotun, and Freyr, who was vanir, just had places there, and Freyr also had a place in Aelfheim (the land of the light elves). Freyr is the god of male love and fertility, equivalent of Freya. Loki, in myth, was prettymuch the only one who could resist those two. If he wanted to matchmake, there would be matchmaking.

Given what we have established about Mayura's father, I'd be interested if anyone's done any fics where he and Verdandi interact (she's the one with the bells). I don't know about pairing them, but given his sight issues and other things they would be fun to stick in a room together and see what happens.

These pictures came to be when I decided to watch the manga raws with a sketch book in hand, nothing is original, I'm just showing off my fantastic copy abilities... but the picture of Heimdall as older is from the anime design from the perfect guide book, I just made him look a little older with longer hair XD

He would have looked older if I had made his face a little thinner... and I suck at drawing hands, took me forever...

From the manga of course=) Frey spotting his dear Mayura in the distance ^.^

Utgards Loki (Utgards Loke) I just love the guy=) Don't understand much from the manga, but he looks so adorable! I think Loki is mean to him...

Frey Cosplay

Hello everyone=)
I have been here at the comunity for a little while, and decided to ask other csplayers for some advice.
I live in Norway, and I plan to go to Sweden for UppCon, a big convention that happens once a year.
Last year I didn't cosplay, but this year I really want to try, and I plan on going as Frey=) Since you just have to love the guy^.^ I'm going to sew the clothes myself, and plan on making the clothes he use in the anime.
So then we come to the case at hand:

Does anyone have any advice on how to sew a cape or jacket? Or if anyone has cosplayed him before and can share how they did it with me=) If anyone is going to UppCon that would also be fun=)

sorry if this is a meaningless entry... I will work on making some fan art to make it up, I have a picture of a older Heimdall and also one of Odin that I plan on coloring in photoshop, and also a few chibi pictures of Frey ;P

Hey there. Just wanted to say hi. I just joined and I'm so happy to have found this community. I first read Matentei Loki Ragnarok a few years ago and then saw the anime but was crushed when I learned they had stopped translating it for US consumption. I was further disappointed when I searched for a site with scanlations but could only find ones that were no longer active. But, through several lucky circumstances I came upon this lovely community. Thank you so much for your devotion to this little know but extremely wonderful series and please continue to scanlate (no pressure, though).

Thx to everyone that have been working with this, it would never have been possible without the help from all of you^^
Those of you that have been in this community for a longer time know that I, and everyone else in this group came together for a quite long time ago, and this is still our first release. Yeah, I know :p We have had our share of problems. But now we have all the raws we need (thx for that, rusalkaz), and also some finished translations for chapter 11-14. Only the editing for these chapters are needed. I might also add that chapter 11 is already on the way, hopefully done in about 2-3 weeks. I have already been editing about 30 pages, but it should be remembered that we still need to check and redo some parts until we think the quality is high enough (even though it hopefully won't take as much time as this chapter...

Hello there! I'm new to this community, though not new to MaLoRa as a whole.

I recently purchased the whole anime series (I only had disk one and was stubbornly waiting for the rest to go on sale) and my interest in the series has been renewed. I always thought it was a crying shame that ADV was just sitting on their rights to the manga without completing it, particularly when I discovered they went ahead and gave over a bunch of their titles to some other companies for completion. (So selfish! Doesn't anyone out there have any love for MaLoki? ;3; )

Anyway, to get to the point. I was hoping, maybe, there might be something I could do to assist with getting the rest of Loki Ragnarok out there for consumption for the English-speaking/reading audience. I'm a college student with a plethora of hobbies, so I don't have excessive amounts of free time, but I'd still like to help out however I can if it's needed or wanted. I have Photoshop and I'm fairly good at editing images, I think (although, admittedly, I've never done so for scanlation purposes, and my monitor is a flat screen so it displays things with a strange brightness, so that might be an issue?) and I'm an English major, so I have a pretty strong grasp of the English language. (I'm studying Japanese, too, but I'm afraid my grasp on Kanji is probably not strong enough for me to be of much help with translation.)

So, I guess if anyone out there is watching and would be interested, please let me know. &heatts;

Okay. I posted a request like this to manga_raws but I decided it couldn't hurt to post here either. Unlike so many other people that are requesting scanlations, I am requesting raws... because I know a bit of Japanese, and I've seen enough of the anime to know that while it's good, I prefer the manga better. So, would anyone be nice enough to upload them if they have them, or point me in a direction to some raws? I would be be eternally grateful if you do!

Oh, and as a side note, they have to be Japanese. I found some Chinese ones already, but I don't know Chinese. That and please don't post raws of the first two volumes because they've already been scanlated and that's kind of pointless. If all goes well, who knows, perhaps there will be more than two volumes scanlated in the memories.

So I have a few questions about the sequence of events from the manga (as well as a few basic questions), I would really appreciate it if you guys could help me out a bit. ♥

There may be spoilers.

Do you ever find out just how Mayura's mother dies?
What is the story behind Utgard-Loki?
Does Mayura lose her memory in the manga?
If so to the question above, how does this occur?
What happens to the other characters in the manga?
Has the death of Baldr already happened?
