About the supposed Hellsing OVA series
Don't get your hopes up!!!

This Anime on DVD doesn't strike me as a legit news source and there's a very good chance they got hoaxed then unknowingly passed it on to Hellsing fans.

For legit news -

Another is -
Icv2

I checked both sites and they currently had nothing on the matter.

So please put your trust into AnimeNation and ICv2 they are reliable sources you should be checking.

actually as rumormills go with anime, usually they are true, so i feel confident getting my hopes up on this one :E

Like I put onto my forum not 2 minutes ago:

It was a very minor statement about the fact the Geneon just made a deal TO make the thing o_O They're not gonna HAVE anything more than a quick collage to show for it...it'll be months before pre-production stuff is released...heck, I'd be amazed if they even had story-boards and a script lined up before Fall.


So, like any movie or story that's got a huge fanbase, fans are gonna know pretty quick SOMEhow when something comes down the pipe. It's like when the Escaflowne Movie came out in Japan...I had it loaded on my computer and subtitled 3 days before it go into THEIR theaters because someone on their staff slipped a copy and it weeded its way out reaaalllyyy fast.

They said it was an insider they trusted and exclusive to their site, and since it´s still Monday in certain parts of the US, let´s wait a bit before yelling "HOAX".

They also had two other titles from Geneon there, one with a b & w manga poster like Hellsing and another that was going to be distributed by another company but that seems to have changed now.

Until I see the news in the official webpage, I won't believe it, that's my policy now (better not to be hopeful to be shattered). There's thousands of these rumors and elaborate hoaxs that fool in many fandoms. Anyone who was in the Evangelion fandom may recall one big a couple of years ago. Gainax themselves had to step in and say it was false.

This ain´t Eva, if anything the hoaxers didn´t even bother to make new artwork.

I´m still not convinced it´s a hoax.

its a VERY good possiblity that its true...

www.Animenewsnetwork.com already has a spot fo hellsing OAV
theres nothing there yet but i'm sure there will be soon

Hmm I was thinking about that and I figured they'd start where they left off cause Incognito never said who he worked for (if I remember correctly) so they could just start from there and go into the whole Millennium/war thing at that point....right?

oh thats true, i guess so but didnt they already kill off rip? and killed off the werewolf guy [god names are so killing me] ... i havent watched the series in months, i think im going to sit down and watch it tomorrow after class, then comment again when i can get my names straight, but if you know who i'm talking about then let me know if i'm wrong or not, cause i often confuse the manga scenes with the anime scenes..

umm... Rip and Schrodinger weren't in the anime, the only people that supposedly worked for Millenium were the Valentine Brothers, Bubbancy, Incognito, and the people with the "Freak" chips.

Oh, hmm I normally trust that source. I am going to check Geneon webpage for news the whole month now. Dammit.

I think they mean to ignore the tv series even existed and retell from the beginning. Think in the different versions from Tenchi Muyo, Vampire Princess Miyu, El Hazard. The tv series and the OVAs are separate.

It won't be so bad if they can round up some German actors...but if they have any American types try and fake it, it would only work for the Doc...cuz he's supposed to be all "OMG VAT VAZ ZAT, MEIN FUHRER" and all o__O

I won´t be watching any English dub for that exact reason, cheesy German accents.

Would be fun to hear Japanese voice-actors speaking German lines, though. (Thinks back to Eva... *snort*)

I think this is OK. I had a look at the MIPTV trade site and Geneon is listed there so it could have a good chance of being real.
