AboutHelios Dot Net and Crystal Midgar is a Multi-Fandom RPG. Both guys and girls are allowed. Please read rules and info to know what it's about. Yaoi and Yuri are also allowed so please leave if you are offended by it!
Helios Dot Net/Crystal Midgar
Helios is the name of this RPG and RPGing is what we do. In this RPG it is set in the year 2013. Not to far from now. ShinRa is the main cooperation of a city known simply as Crystal Midgar. It's a leading company in electronics, military, and energy. One of ShinRa's latest achievements from their labs is Helios Dot Net.
Helios Dot Net is an online RPG for the citizens of Crystal Midgar. First off you need the Helios Controller. This controller is a visor of sorts that's connected to a modem like machine on your bed. The Visor uses special controls to tape into your mind and nervous system, placing your body in a sleep like status as it downloads your brain onto the internet. This is when HDN comes in. It's the program that's used.
HDN allows the person to create their own character with up to three jobs (counting on their level). To get your max three jobs you must be at least a level 25 player. You work on quests and just play about to on different areas. On HDN there are seven worlds with only 4 avaliable to common players. Worlds 5-7 need special codes that can be won from special events or given to them by mods or admins.
The worlds of HDN that are open are Earth, Ark, Gaia, and Celestia. The other three are Terra, Chaos, and Chalice. The three that need codes are made like that due to unstable environment. But this of course doesn't keep the hackers out who find ways to modify their accounts with special computers that hook into the HDN network.
Each world as 2-3 Towns in which the players may go about to shop or participate in special RPGs. Next there is a Party Town in each world. They are only opened to the public during special events. A sacred site in which Healers are best to be to learn new skills exist in each world. Sacred Sites have no monsters and are places where people, after being KO'd, wake up. There are about 3-4 terrain servers at each world. These servers are usually elemental based and contain very few buildings. They are places for people to train, search for lost items, attend special adventure quests, and fight monsters. Last are the Dungeons. They usually have the rarest of treasures and the deadlist of monsters in them. Be careful here.
Now that you know a little bit about HDN, we'll talk about Crystal Midgar. Crystal Midgar, as I said before, is mainly controlled by ShinRa. Within it are the military bases of SOLDIER and SEED as well as its Education District and the University. Crystal Midgar is known for its highly technological city. It is shown just simply by the fact that even the poorest of people in the slums have the HDN system in the homes (given out for free by ShinRa). It is also known for the Spider Light cafe's that feature quick connect computers, Helios Dot Net system rooms, and also the common cake and coffee. It's a favorite spot for most teens and people on break from work.
All in all, Crystal Midgar is a calm, peaceful place placed in a technological world.
About the RPG
Helios has two sets of RPGs. There's the RL ones stationed around the character as they go throgh a normal life in Crystal Midgar and that of their RPG life in which they work to level up and go through events. But there are some things that aren't exactly 'RL' type in Crystal Midgar.
Chocobo's are raised side by side with horses on the outside of CM. They can be seen in the parks, dragging carridges behind them. They also exist on Helios as the only source of animal transportation and battle animal.
Airships are modified close to a higher tech design. They are what are stationed at the Midgar Airlines. Midgar Airlines can take any character out to any other city around the world. Just create a name of the city and that person can leave to it.
Do keep in mind that your characters are just normal humans in Crystal Midgar. You can have them be what ever you want on Helios Dot Net though. Heck, you can even change the color of their hair and the way they look.
Also, Helios Dot Net is mainly ran on the Forum listed below. There is where you can RPG in a RL time format. Just post, reply, etc. Each world and server are listed like they would in a BBC. There are also other boards located there. Most massive RPGs will take place on there and anyone can join. Keep in mind of your characters access though as well.
