Facts
-Jon was raised as a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, the largest sect of Mormons in the United States. He is a practicing Mormon, and it has been noted that he does not curse, drink alcohol or beverages with caffiene (except for the occasional Dr. Pepper), intake any stiumlants, or work on Sunday.

-Runs Greasy Entertainment, a production company with twin brother Dan and older brother Doug. They currently have a first-look contract with Universal Studios.

-Graduated from Brigham Young University with a BFA in computer animation. He met his wife, Kirsten, a documentary film major, in a film class they were both taking. Jon was also a classmate and friend of Jared Hess, the director of Napoleon Dynamite. Kirsten, Jared, Dan and Jon are all members of the class of 2002.

-Jon and Dan are identical twins. Dan is older and has been noted as answering questions directed towards his brother, as a typical 'dominant' twin would. The twins have admitted in being amused in confusing people to which one is which. Dan is an computer animation artist for Sony, and worked on the animation for Monster House.

-Spent two years in Japan during the traditional Mormon male's proselytizing mission with his twin. During this time frame, he was forced to learn Japanese, which he still speaks fluently. He and his brother converted 12 to 15 people to Mormonism. Jon has stated that he is still in contact with some of his converts.

-broke a bone in 2 consecutive movies (foot during Monster House, ankle during training for Blades of Glory) Jon also hurt the foot of the ankle he eventually broke during The Benchwarmers.

-for a self-professed 'geek', Jon has received kudos on his ability to pick up on athletic skills very quickly. (baseball for Benchwarmers and skating for Blades of Glory). Jon was a member of the South Salem High swim team, though he did make the A squad basketball team, as well as running cross country

-Jon's hair in Napoeleon Dynamite: REAL (the result of two perms and the Idaho sun bleaching his hair red)

-Jon's hair in Blades of Glory: Fake (they added blond extentions to Jon's dyed hair)

-Jon was the host of SNL the night Ashlee Simpson returned as a musical guest, after her botched lip-synching musical performance

-according to the Wikipedia artcle, Jon can tehcnically be considered a cursory member (or pledge) of the 'Frat Pack'. He starred in a movie with full Frat Packers Ben Stiller (School for Scoundrels) and Will Ferrell and pledge Amy Poehler (Blades of Glory). He has also hosted Saturday Night Live.

-There was serious talk that Blades of Glory was going to be shelved due to Jon's broken ankle, however producer Ben Stiller and co-Star Will Ferrell lobbied with the studio and the producers of Mama's Boy the movie Jon was slated to shoot after Blades of Glory in order to coordinate his filming schedule. Will Ferrell was quoted in articles as fighting against recasting the role, as he signed on for the project to work with Jon

-The voice work for the animated film Surf's Up was started nearly four years ago, predating both Jon's and co-stars Shia LaBeouf's metoric rises to fame. LaBeouf's move Disturbia knocked Jon's Blades of Glory out of the top spot when it opened.

-Blades of Glory is the first movie that Jon has starred in since Napoleon Dynamite to make more that $100 million.

-When asked who he wanted to play him in a film on his life, Harry Potter star Rupert Grint replied, "Jon Heder". Rumor has it that Rupert also fancies Jon in the role of Rufus Scrimegour in the next Harry Potter film...which won't happen, since there's an iron-clad clause in the Potter film contracts that state only British actors can be cast.
