It's been a while, but I hope you're all having a wonderful winter season.

Today's news is pretty major for some of you out there, and that is that ka-yu has apparently found his way out of all the empty beer cans in his apartment is starting a new solo project known as DAMIJAW (coincidentally, pronounced the same way it looks in English).
Their first single will be released February 17, and will come in two editions, one with a DVD containing a PV and offshots (1890 yen) and a CD only edition that will come with a special extra (1260 yen).

The content of the CD itself at this point is unknown, other than that it will contain 3 songs.


While I am making a post, I also wanted to update you all about yasu.
He underwent surgery at the end of November, and is currently recovering, but according to both SHUSE and DAIGO, he is in high spirits and his recovery is going well.
Also, he wanted to tell us all that he'll see us all soon o(^^)o

Ack! First time posting, it makes it super nervous!!!

Hey everyone~ I have a favor/question to ask of the community~

I'll be graduating soon, and for my school's yearbook we have to come up with our "favorite quote." While I may have "favorite quotes," they are either too playful or they just don't seem to fit what I would like to put in a yearbook (you know?) Plus I never found out who said them, if anyone ever did, but that's beside the point.......

So, my favor/question to the community is this:

Coming from Janne Da Arc (from the members or from songs~) do you have any memorable quotes that leave an impact, or even left one on you?


While the quotes don't have to be only from Janne (they can be your own favorite quotes~), I came up with this solution since I really respect and love Janne. So if I can quote one of my favorite people in the world, then that would be better than having quotes that I remember only because they were witty ^^;

I just received this in my inbox this morning from the Janne Da Arc fanclub...and I'm afraid it's a little bit of bad news. As you may remember, yasu was having problems with his vocal cords back at the start of the tour (which finished with a very powerful performance Monday night)...and, well...here are the official details.

Thank you for your continued support of Acid Black Cherry.
It has been determined that yasu will be temporarily taking a break from activities due to the continuing condition of his throat since before Acid Black Cherry's 2009 "Q.E.D." Tour.

During rehearsals immediately before the start of the tour, yasu complained of discomfort in his throat, causing him to consult a specialist. As a result of that visit, cysts were discovered on his vocal cords.
As this is a condition that is difficult to heal through natural progression, it was determined that he needed to undergo surgery.
After receiving this diagnosis, we consulted with yasu himself for several days as to the best course of action. Due to his great strength of will, it was decided to proceed with the tour as planned.

However, this aggravated the cysts on his vocal cords, causing inflammation.
Looking towards a long tour, yasu was hospitalized for a few days to alleviate the swelling, which caused us to decide upon canceling the September 12 show at Koshigaya.

During the tour, there were times where yasu had difficulty with his voice, and his condition was nowhere near perfect; but due to the care he himself was making sure to do for his throat, as well as with some help from prescribed medication, he did not see a worsening of his initial symptoms...so he decided to carry on to the final performance of the tour at the Nippon Budokan.

Currently, with the tour at an end, we have once again consulted with yasu himself, who has decided to undergo surgery for the removal of the cysts on his vocal cords to avoid any deterioration of his current condition, as well as the recovery and subsequent medical treatment.

As a result of his complete attention being turned toward his recovery, the show planned for December 24 at Osaka-jo Hall has been canceled, and as for the acoustic shows planned as a special favor for the purchasers of the "Q.E.D." album, we will be postponing them until yasu's throat fully heals, with our deepest apologies.

When yasu's voice recovers completely, he plans to resume activities.

Fanclub members who requested tickets to the Osaka-jo Hall show will be refunded the cost of their tickets and the 500 yen shipping charge.

The season is starting to change around here, yasu is doing his best on his tour, and the latest tidbits of news are coming in slowly, but here's one for you--

ka-yu's latest clothing and accessory collection is up and for sale at Solid-Beat.jp! As for right now, they can only ship within Japan...but it's still pretty neat to look at his designs (and to know he's still out there)!

If you do plan to order, you can do so through the website (again, as long as it's to a Japanese domestic shipping address) through October 31, with goods shipping out in December.

Some quick announcements for all of you today, so let me get right into it.

First of all, kiyo will be releasing a second book based on his blog on October 23. It will retail for 1500 yen, and will be called "Hannama". It should be sold in any Japanese bookstore, and as such a copy should be easily available on Amazon.co.jp, which is fairly reliable for books (though I personally would not trust them for other, more fragile items because of the packaging methods they use that are often insufficient for overseas shipments).

Secondly, unfortunately we've had a bit of sad news, as yasu has had to cancel the first show on his tour (it was supposed to be last night) due to inflammation of his vocal cords. He is currently under order from a doctor to get rest, mostly due to the fact that he has had problems in the past (and even went in for surgery to have polyps removed from his vocal cords ten years ago, just after Janne Da Arc made their major debut), and they were concerned that if he pushed himself too hard, it would make his condition even worse--and as such has been admitted to a hospital in Tokyo for a few days. However, yasu reports that he is in better spirits today, after being depressed about having to cancel a show for the first time in his entire career.

I've translated his blog entry from this evening, since I think it's important for everyone to know that he's in good spirits, at least. You can read it below the cut.

As I mentioned before, he'll just be in hospital for a few days while the swelling goes down, but most certainly we're all wishing for him to have a quick recovery! So, keep him in your thoughts a little extra hard this week, Janners.

Of course, I'll let you know if anything else comes up, but currently the tour is planning to proceed as scheduled, so it is supposed at this point that they expect him to recover by his next live on the 16th.

It's been a while since you've heard anything from me, but I have some Acid Black Cherry related news for everyone today!

First of all, CD DATA is publishing a book (tentatively called "ABC Book", as creative as that is) containing a lot of neat stuff, on November 2. The book will retail for 2500 yen, and will be in B5 size, hardcover.
The features include:

*A 'history interview', following yasu from "his birth to the present day"
*A complete collection of yasu's serial kanji column "Saikin Donna Kanji?" with book-exclusive new material
*A collection of all the interviews and photos taken by CD Data from the release of "SPELL MAGIC" until the new album "Q.E.D."
*New pictures taken exclusively for the book

Currently, the easiest way to get the book is to be in the Janne Da Arc fanclub, as they will be sending details about obtaining the book (and a special fanclub-exclusive postcard set) with the upcoming fanclub magazine in September.

Also, the CD Data website will be taking preorders for the book beginning on September 1, but it is unclear at this point if they will be able to take orders from those outside of Japan. (Books ordered through the website will also be packaged with a postcard set different from the fanclub set.)

Finally, for those of us who are lucky enough to be attending ABC's tour final at the Budokan, there will be yet another edition of the book sold exclusively at the live with a different cover from the other edition.


In other news, the date and time for yasu's web show through Nico Nico has been announced for August 19 at 11 p.m. Japan time. So, if you can be in attendance for that, it should be fun!

As a somewhat self-promoting aside, I have also been posting the story behind Q.E.D. on my translation site over the last few days (as well as the lyrics to the recently-released Yasashii Uso); so if you are curious about the album, please do check that out as well. The news today, as the subject of this post suggests, is that you is releasing a complete set of his "LIFE" albums!
The LIFE COMPLETE BOX will go on sale on September 30 and contain all three of you's previous solo albums as well as two DVDs.
The DVDs will contain the footage from his concert "LIFE ~La Conclusion~" at NHK Hall (20 songs, approximately 130 minutes), all of the PVs from his solo work, and offshots from his previous nationwide tour.
It will also be packaged with a 42 page photobooklet, an entry form to try and win a signed FERNANDES guitar, and one other as-yet unannounced reservation gift.
The box retails for 9800 yen.
However, the box will only be produced in numbers to meet preorders, so if you would like to purchase it, it is recommended that you preorder it as soon as possible.

I know it's been a while since you've heard from me, but I have a ton of news for you today!

The major tidbit is that the first details about Acid Black Cherry's upcoming album have finally been released! It's slated to go on sale August 26 in three editions--two DVD versions, and a CD only edition.

The CD will have a total of 12 songs, including 20＋∞Century Boys, Nemurihime, Jigsaw, and Yasashii Uso, with the CD only edition (3,000 yen) containing a 42 page photobooklet. Just like Black List before it, all three editions will also have different jacket photos.

The first DVD edition (3,600 yen) will have a DVD with the music videos for the four featured songs, as well as alternate videos (the Yasashii Uso video in particular has a Bit stupid tie-in that should prove interesting).

It will also contain new offshots, that will include an interview with yasu.

The second DVD edition will contain the live footage from Acid Black Cherry's single live on March 4 of this year in Ebisu LIQUID ROOM, containing the following songs:

Jigsaw
Shoujo no Inori
Fuyu no Maboroshi
Nemurihime
DRAGON CARNIVAL
Black Cherry
SPELL MAGIC

Additionally, this DVD will include the album making offshots, narrated by Hiroaki Asai, former DJ of such popular radio programs as NACK 5's BEAT SHUFFLE (he currently works as a lecturer at the Osaka School of Music).


As for the other members of the band, kiyo just celebrated his birthday on Saturday, and we are to look forward to the release of his second blog-based book sometime in October.
you has plans, as well, to release a complete box of his LIFE solo work coming up soon!
ka-yu still seems to be laying low, enjoying life and the approaching summer.
shuji...well, as a lot of you may know from shuji_blog, he's been increasing his family with the addition of his new dog Tamu and rabbit Chachamaru, and he is quite the doting puppy parent!

It's starting to get hot and humid here in Japan, so I hope the weather is a little better wherever you are at the moment!

Anyway, there's some new information about Acid Black Cherry's new single, coming out July 29.
The title track has been announced as a brand-new song, 「優しい嘘」 (Yasashii Uso). As I mentioned before, the B-side will be a cover of The Checkers's famous song "Julia ni Heartbreak". As always, the DVD edition of the single will contain the PV for the title track and off shots.

Also, just like Nemurihime, ABC will be doing a special one-night live show on August 17. Tickets will once again be determined by lottery, with winners being informed of the location of the show and other relevant information. More details on that will be included in a leaflet contained in the single packaging.

For those of you not on this side of the world, yasu's next Internet program through Nico Nico is scheduled to take place on June 25, a little later--at 10:30 pm Japan time. So, if you are able to, please do tune in!

I know it's been a long time, and I hope things are treating all of you marvelously.

More importantly, however, news has finally been officially released about Acid Black Cherry's new single, coming out on July 29.

First of all, the main track has yet to be decided, but the couple track will be the famous song by the Checkers, "Julia ni Shoushin" (also known as "Julia ni Heartbreak"). yasu was a fan of the Checkers when he was young, even sporting what he called 'Checkers hair' in junior high, so it should be a very interesting cover indeed! I know I'm looking forward to it.

As far as releases go, it looks as if they will be doing the same thing they did with the Nemurihime single--having a CD only release, a CD+DVD release, and then two other versions only available through the official and mobile fanclubs. All the releases will have different jackets, and the fanclub versions will have the added extra of an original Acid Black Cherry wristband (preliminary designs can currently be seen on the official site). The CD only version will also contain a single photobook of 12 pages, as well as a randomized picture printed on the CD itself selected out of three possible designs.

The CD+DVD edition as well as both fanclub editions retail for ¥1,680, with the CD only version clocking in at ¥1,050.

The preorder links from CD Japan were already posted in the community, so please look for those in the post below this one and support yasu financially if you can!

Those of you who are able to, and wish to, order the fanclub only editions, you should be getting a mail from the fanclub in a few days with instructions on how to order.

Those in Japan with a Japanese mobile phone and a subscription to the official Janne mobile site can also follow the QR code on the official site to order the mobile fanclub edition directly.

Also, don't forget that yasu is having his monthly radio show on Nico Nico this Thursday at 8 pm Japan time; so if you are able to, please log in and check it out!

I don't remember any request like this before, so please forgive me if it's forbidden to ask such a question... But i wanted to ask if there is someone who could make a gif-icon for me? I would kill to have an icon with jumping yasu from Dearly 2005 live (DVD2, 0:30:36), so i thought i'd ask here. If you aren't able to do it yourself but know someone who does this kind of icons, i would appreciate a link to the journal/community or any other form of help.
