A waking nightmare [otaish? Tag clinic staff, Rogue, anyone else who might be there]
Sam felt like he'd been here before. Only this time, as he went from his dreams to wakefulness, he wasn't desperately trying to save the lives of people who weren't real.

Gene.

Annie.

Chris and Ray.

Figments of his imagination.

He opened his eyes slowly. White above him. He was lying down. As awareness came back, he tried to remember. The car, Manchester Way. It had come from nowhere and hit him.

Oddly, he felt like he should be listening to David Bowie - his journey would come full circle.

[ooc: Sam thinks he's come out of his coma back in Manchester. Be prepared for paranoia]

It had taken Spock to make Rogue realise that she was being stupid staying away from the clinic, and Sam. He needed her at this moment as much as she needed him. Spock was right, it was easier drawing strength from others. And since Sam couldn't be strong for himself right now, Rogue would be strong for him. At least her mind was relatively back to normal, even if she did feel a strange need to be listening to Bowie constantly.

Her gloved hand was closed around Sam's, her skin covered to make sure no accidents could happen while he was already in a weakened state. She'd been about to drift off when she caught the movement of Sam's eyes and leaned forward in her seat, relief written across her face.

"Sam... Oh Lordy, Sam... you're awake."

	Andrej nodded, pleased. The man looked confused. A natural reaction. He had been unconscious some while. "There will be tests, but later. I must your function check. Today I will only ask if you remember how you came to be injured. And a request. Do not overexert with your visitors. There have been many. I am most certain they have not left the building."
