RULES

THIS COMMUNITY IS FOR HDTV (aka HD, high definition) SCREENCAPS ONLY. Do not post icons or other graphics. A screencap is an unaltered image captured from a video source. They are not resized, cropped, or otherwise adjusted, unless the adjustments improve the image's quality. For example: correcting brightness or contrast in an image that is too dark / cropping away the blackspace around a cap, usually from movies/tv shows in widescreen format / resizing to make it the correct aspect ratio / deinterlacing.

WHAT CONSTITUTES A HDTV SCREENCAP? ANSWER: the source and the size of the cap.

Size: The two usual resolutions for HDTV broadcast are 1920x1080 and 1280x720. Caps made from a broadcast may not be smaller than those, or approximately that when black borders have been cropped off - ie. 1920x815 after cropping black borders off. Size specifications for HD-DVD/Blu-Ray caps may mary depending on formats the movie companies adopt, and will be posted when available.

The source: the caps must have been made from a high definition material - either a HDTV broadcast, HD trailer or HD-DVD/Blu-Ray discs when those become available. Ie. caps made from regular DVDs and increased to 1920x1080 or 1280x720 are not acceptable.

ALL SCREENCAP POSTS SHOULD BE POSTED AS A NEW POST TO THE GROUP. When posting more than one movie/tv series show title, please use a seperate post for each title. Don't post caps in comments to other posts. Television episodes are okay to be posted together, as long as they're from the same series.

USE THE SUBJECT LINE. All screencap posts must have the film/tv series title in the subject line of the post. Cap posts without this necessary information will be deleted. No exceptions!

USE A LJ-CUT WHEN NECESSARY. Always use a lj-cut when posting sample caps, and movie lists. For help with lj-cuts, please read the Livejournal FAQ.

SAMPLE CAPS ARE REQUIRED. You must provide at least one sample cap in your post. Sample caps must be the same copy as the caps in you gallery or zip - no resizing etc. to save ie. bandwitdh. You cannot tell what the quality of the actual cap will be if the sample has been reduced or increased in size. Exempt from this rule are TV series' episodic posts when the quality of caps is the same as in a previous, sample including post of the same tv series, from the same poster.

CHECK THE MEMORIES BEFORE MAKING A REQUEST. Cap posts are filed in the memories section. Before making a request, check to see if what you want has already been posted.

REQUESTS MUST HAVE THE WORD 'REQUEST' BE THE FIRST WORD IN THE SUBJECT LINE. Ie. Request - Stargate Atlantis.
