Hello! I'm new to this community and really don't know how things normally work, for that i'm sorry.

But the other day I was thinking about a fic I read years ago that was H/D, of course, and it infused the concept of gods into the story. They were celtic gods and they had been banished to a dream-sleep because people stopped believing in them and they lost power from a lack of worship. Eventualyl they start to re-awaken. I think at one point Voldemort enters into the world of the gods and steals the hounds of hell and tries to use them on Earth.

I'm sorry if this is not clear.

The story, when I read it, was on fanficiton.net I tried searching there but I could not find it.
The story itself reminds me of the Neil Gaimon book "American Gods" if that helps at all.

I read a long fic probably about a year ago or more but now I can't find it. It's HD and is complete. Draco is a successful businessman following the war but someone is making threats against him, enter Auror Harry Potter who is assigned to protect him. Draco doesn't want Harry protecting him and when Harry tells him he's not leaving and Draco just uses the wards to send him elsewhere. The title is, I think, "The Yellow House". Towards the end of the story Harry asks Draco what the name of the house means (it's in french, I think) and he replies that it means the yellow house. This is a great story and if anyone can get me a link I'll be forever grateful.

So this has been a long time coming. I should have posted something about this back in May, but then I got caught up in writing and reading fest fics again, and forgotten about it. Fact is that there have only been the occasional recs on this comm for months now, so I thought I need to do something because I don't want this comm to die.

Originally, I intended this comm to become not a reccing community, but a comm where authors could post links when they finish a WIP – and then something along the way got misunderstood and that's what it turned into.

Earlier, I've considered giving away this comm into the hands of real reccers. I'm not one. I get distracted too easily, as evidenced, and reccing wasn't high on my list of priorities to begin with. Also, with all these fests, I grew lazy and it just doesn't fit in my time to check all the fic communities and comb through archives for recently completed WIPs. Sorry about that, but that's how it is. But I think it would be better if we just skipped that middle step and authors would post links to their completed fics here, the same way they do at other communities like harrydraco or harrylovesdraco, and I could continue for a long while. This doesn't mean that reccing is forbidden from now on – especially reccing fics that are posted outside of LJ – recs are just no longer the main focus of the comm – as they weren't meant to be in the first place.

First off: I would like you to please suggest me a more appropriate title for the community with which I could replace the current one – to reflect this. (Words like "self-rec" and "self-pimp" make everyone horribly self-conscious and shy to post their own fics for some reason.)

Second: Post your fics! I haven't even begun to post my fest-related recs, so if you've recently written a fest fic or completed a WIP which fulfils the length requirement (≥10 000 words) or has more than 3 parts, then please post a rec er…notice? help out the linguistically challenged a little, please! on the comm using the template provided in the user info. ETA because I wasn't clear on this: you can use your own template instead of the one provided, but the post should contain the minimal information listed on the profile page. (Title and Author, Rating, Warnings and one or more links to the fiction.) These are the only rules, and that one post should only contain one fic/series so it can be sorted into the fitting categories by tags. (Tags can be chosen from the tag list; creating new tags is not allowed but they can be requested by me.)

Third: I ask for everyone to please pimp this post so that authors learn about this change of policy and we'd finally get a working community with an up-to-date list of freshly completed fics for everyone's reading pleasure. :)
