Spoiled, WHAT?
Stupid clank. Except for the 'great man' part. Anyway, there's a fashion point it did not pick up on, surprisingly. That's not a goatee. To wit: ETA: yes, the beard got an accidental snip, but I was doing this hastily.

Something to muse over
God (not that God, the other one) said in Y!group Message 55423: ...remember from when Beetle was going on with his mono-log and Klaus had his newer model battle-clanks take out Beetles older style ones?, remember his statements something close to: "they were the best self-contained battle clanks... WHEN they were new!", and that "time has marched on, but they stayed the same"... well, just consider what HIS versions of the Jaegers will be like!... combine Von Pinn's speed and agility, with the Jaegers combat abilities... it would be like the T1000 Terminator vs, the Arnold version...Discuss: The Baron would naturally try to back-engineer the Jägers merely because they were there; however, would he have any good reason or motivation to build his own? If so, why? Extra credit: Did he actually augment Von Pinn himself, or did she come this way? Or did he have to repair her after the attack? Give full proofs. (The a-umlaut is, for Windows users, alt-0228 or alt-fn-0228. Use it wisely, use it well.)

Now THIS is analysis!
More like it! And with a reference and all. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/girlgeniu Discussion point: During the battle against the warrior wasps on Castle W., the Baron was wearing some fashion of torso armour. The fact that it was coloured identically to his shirt and trousers makes it a little harder to tell. Now, with his... we need better nouns and modifiers, here... with his constructness compensating for the crimp armour can put in one's free movement, what good reason would there be for Klaus to have gone without tassets and greaves, especially considering the warriors' rather large and nasty pinchers?

Random musings
I really thought the current storyline was going to end up with the Baron siding with Agatha before Gil did. Did anyone else think this? The fact that he isn't is making me a little more worried for him. And I still don't trust DuPree. (I know I'm outvoted on that last one, but as everyone in Star Wars says... I have a bad feeling about this.) Something else I've realized... Gil says he doesn't know Agatha very well, but in spite of the short amount of time they spent together, he actually knows her better than anyone. Only Zeetha knows her as well or better. And like Zeetha, his instincts about Agatha are right. Case in point: |

Quotable
Referring to this specifically, but hey: "...I think a shirtless Wulfenbach on a backdrop of red silk makes up for a lot of antigravity....acreage." ...Erin's an equal-opportunity non-age-biased droolist.

How big IS it?
Time for another round of that popular indoor party game, 'How big is the Castle Wulfenbach, really?' Please include all the reasoning and equations for your proofs in your notebook before turning it in to the tutor.

Newbie with icons
Heya! I'm um, new here. Not to Girl Genius, but to this community...and LiveJournal itself actually. Anyway, I hope this is allowed, I didn't see anything that said it wasn't...in any case, I come bearing icons of Baron Wulfenbach. I also have a bunch of Gil...but seeing as this isn't a fan club for him I'll leave those out unless they are requested. Anyway, onto the icons. Oh yes, feel free to use these icons in anyway you want. I don't care if I get credit, though it would be nice and will make me squee happily. |

Zeetha, Daughter of Chump
Something occurred to me. If the Baron was Zeetha's father (might be a longshot, but kinda hoping)... Klaus wakes up. Skifander royal person tries to introduce herself, past the language barrier. Wants to know what to call Klaus. Klaus, realizing he's been duped by Lucrezia and dumped in Skifander, is all red-faced and annoyed with himself. "Chump." The name sticks. So now Zeetha goes around introducing herself as "daughter of Chump", hoping someone'll know who Chump is. LOL (Okay, so that's not how it happened, but... hee. I am so easily amused.)

Prediction...
After the current sequence with Agatha, it'll skip Gil and turn over to Zeetha, then cut to Klaus. At least, I hope so, 'cause the Skifander mysteries are really making my brain bubble. We better get an explanation soon. (Eeee! Eeeeeee!)

'...how my father feels -- all the time!'
Heh. Heh, heh, heh. Now maybe they'll get it. (Poor Gil. He Understands A Parent. Isn't that a sure sign of growing up?) Irrelevant to the above, do you think if we all bat our eyelashes at Kaja and hold up our plastic, she'll make a Wulfenbach version of this?

Baron's Biography Needed
A few people are starting to work on a Girl Genius Wiki and our good Baron has only a stub entry as of this posting. Would Ms. Actually, there are a lot of entries to be finished and some others which need attention... |

"Archaic" Klaus
Peisistratos: Son of a philosopher and war hero who gained power, was exiled for 10 years, and came back as a tyrant to take over Athens. He took the children of his opponents (aristocrats) as hostages and established himself as a "constitutional tyrant" and made it so only he had sufficient military power by outlawing weapons and having a personal force of archers for "anti-terrorist" use. "Tyrant" back then meant a ruler who came to power "unconstitutionally", and is usually the worst thing for an aristocracy since they gain power through the favor of the people. Peisistratos was no exception; he's credited with making the first welfare state, favoring the rural populace, and put much investment in arts and literature. A side note: He was brought home from exile by "Athena", who was actually a tall woman named Phya, disguised as Athena in a suit of armor. |

A quote from a mad scientist
I think this might be appreciated a little more here (and over in Narbon-land, if anyone cares to repost) than elsewhere. Said by Kurotsuchi Mayuri-taicho in Bleach chapter 306, 'Not Perfect is GOoD', and translated by the Ju-Ni fanlation group (my punctuation and emphases due to the style of the translation): 'The Perfect Life', hm? There is no perfection in this world. It's a cliché expression, but it's the truth. Thus, ordinary people yearn for 'perfection' and seek it out, but what meaning is there in 'perfection'? Just for the sake of comparison, this is from another group, Maximum 7: 'Perfect existence'? Perfection does not exist in this world. It may seem like a cliche, but it's true. Obviously mediocre fools will forever lust for 'perfection' and seek it out. However, what meaning is there in 'perfection'? None. Not a bit. 'Perfection' disgusts me. After 'perfection' there exists nothing higher. Not even room for 'creation'. Which means there is no room for wisdom or talent either. Understand? To scientists like ourselves, 'perfection' is 'despair'. Even if something is created that is more magnificent than anything before it, it still, however, will be far from perfect. Scientists are constantly struggling with that antinomy and furthermore must become being capable of drawing pleasure from such. In short, the instant that absurd word 'perfection' came from your lips, you had already been defeated by me. You claimed you 'were also a scientist'.

Secret Decoder Ring (Little Orphan Annie <> Agatha)
WIth the exception of a decoder written in an ancient version of Basic (of course Windows Vista and WinXP don't have any form of Basic, and neither do Macs), I haven't found a working decoder, or the equivalent of the old book covers on the Web. There is a store I know of that has the compiled Volumes 1 and 2, but I don't remember seeing the decoder on (or in) either of them. Anyone have suggestions? |

Hair color...
I don't know about you guys, but as handy and artistic as the sepia is for representing past events, it leaves a little much mystery on what is what color. As such, there has been something that has bugged me for the longest time. What on earth was Klaus' hair color before it went grey!? All I can tell is, unless he went grey early (or was built that way), he had fairly light hair to begin with, maybe even blonde (hope not... a blonde Klaus, eek), but most likely something close to Gil's hair.

Oh YES, horrible cruel tyrant! Evil, mean, psychopathic!
'You know how the House of Wulfenbach treats captured soldiers. You can join our forces, or go home with a month's pay.' *smirk* Y'know, this is, after all, Girl Genius, but the slow unfolding of Klaus's history and Gil's growth are effectively essential to telling her story correctly. It's nearly as much about the Wulfenbachs as the Heterodynes, in order to provide context.
