With the results of the poll fics will not be opening up for a second artist to claim them, there just isn't enough interest to do that. Thank you to everyone that was interested.

All fics should be claimed and if you haven't heard from your artist or author please drop a comment here. Final drafts of fics AND art are due January 10th, 2010 and the posting schedule should be going up on the 11th or 12th so keep an eye out for that. Posting starts on the 15th.

Good luck to everyone and if you have any problems or questions please feel free to PM one of the moderators and we will help you out.

Second claims would be open to artists who have already claimed a fic (so you would be allowed to claim a second). We just want to see if everyone is still interested in being an artist that is signed up, and if we should open fics for a second artist.

This is a reminder to artist to head on over to THIS post and claim one of the remaining stories. Numbers 1, 6, 7 still need to be claimed before all fics open for second artists on Friday. They are slash, gen, and het so there is something for everyone.

01 December 2009 @ 01:32 pm
Okay guys, this is it, the last claims post for artist. So if you want a fic check the four below and make your claim. Depending if all of these get claimed quickly and an interest is shown we might then reopen all the fics for a second artist to claim them.

This will be the last claims post, check back later to see if a couple more fics are added (so if you were late getting your fic in just send it in ASAP and I will add it to this post).

Please comment with the following to claim a fic:

2 stories still up for grabs )

Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating and I hope everyone is having a great day wherever they are in the world! For the artists that have claimed fics you should be getting an email with your information tomorrow, we still have 2 fics unclaimed so please head on over HERE and claimed one of the unclaimed stories.

Once those stories are claimed all stories will reopen for a second artist to claim them.

First off, this will be the first round of claiming, we are giving authors still signed up till November 30th to get in a rough draft. So on November 30th at 1pm PST we will have a second round of claiming. Any fics unclaimed in this round will be included in that one.

These are the fics we have for sure from some truly amazing authors. We have 14 fics up for grabs. Claiming is by a first come, first served basis. Once all 14 fics have been claimed we will reopen them for a second artist claim. We want to have each artist work in a different medium, so ideally a fic will be claimed by one artist that uses Photoshop and another who draws.

Please comment with the following to claim a fic:

Hey guys, this is the last reminder you will get on rough drafts. So far we have rough drafts from the following people:
[info]nopejr, [info]b00kaddict, [info]literaryspell, [info]nursedarry, [info]142978, [info]smaragbird, [info]jamieln612, [info]ll24ever, [info]reikokatsura, [info]alovelycupoftea, [info]vipersweb, [info]join_the_conga, [info]pochibubblytea, and [info]jenl3227

Thats 14 out of the 76 people we still have signed up, so we are hoping everyone is waiting till the last possible second (which is fine, really you need to have your rough draft in before the claims post goes up).

If you have turned in your rough draft but your name isn't on that last drop a comment and we will work on what went wrong.

To submit your rough draft follow the instructions here.

Artists - The claims post will be up on November 23rd, 2009 at 1pm PST. You can check PST time HERE

Hey guys, rough drafts are due in the next 24-48 hours. So far the following people have turned in rough drafts:

If you haven't submitted your rough draft follow the instructions here

Hey guys, the time is drawing near for you to get your rough drafts in. You have until November 20th to email us your rough draft, as long as it’s the 20th in your area you are good. Your rough draft needs to be either 15,000 words and completed or at least 10,000 words with more than 80% of the fic done. Please follow the instructions below when turning in your rough draft.

Email to:
harrypotterbb@gmail.com

Subject line:
Rough Draft – Title – LJ Username

Body:

Please keep the coding in your email, it makes it easier for us to just copy and paste this into the claiming post. The only things that will be taken out is the LJ username, current word count, and beta. Pay special attention to the summary because that is what artists will be using to claim a story.

Then add your fic as an attachment, we would prefer it if you had it as an .doc but we can take .docx and .rtf

If you will need a beta for your story please make sure to mark Yes on the beta section

Any questions about submitting your rough draft comment with them to this post and we will help get your rough draft in.

Sadly not everyone will be able to finish, and with the deadline for rough drafts just a week away we want to know for sure who won't be able to. If you signed up as an author and know you won't be able to complete the challenge (or the minimum for a rough draft which is 10,000 words or more and 80% of the fic done) please comment here with your username and the reason why you were unable to finish. Comments are screened so the mods will be the only ones seeing them.

If you think you might have to drop out but honestly believe you could complete the challenge if you had an extra couple of weeks comment here (with EXTENSION in your subject line) and we will see what we can do about getting you one (maybe adding you to the 2nd of claiming).

EDIT -

We do give extensions, we have been, if you can hit 6,000 words and/or absolutely sure you will be done with the fic by January (when posting starts) we encourage you to turn in your rough draft BEFORE November 30th.

Hey big bangers, the deadline is coming up and we know many of you most be feeling nervous. To help everyone out we have put together a support community. Head on over to [info]hpbb_burrow and join/watch. You can post excerpts of your fics there, participate in Wordcoutn Wednesdays, even rant a bit when you need to.

The community is for you guys so besides telling you how many excerpts you can post per week (the answer is one) feel free to use that comm to get to know each other and play around. Try to stay on topic a bit (your Harry Potter big bang story) and make sure to give other people there support.

Attention to all authors who haven't checked in yet! This is the final checkpoint before your rough draft is due, so we would really like to hear from everyone how their story is coming along. I cannot stress enough how important this is for us to know.

Some stats to give you a clue where we're at: the third checkpoint went up Monday last week, and only 16 writers have checked in so far. When you know that there were a smashing 108 authors who signed up, and only 11 of those have already contacted me saying they won't make the deadline, that leaves us with 81 authors unaccounted for!

So, if you're one of these missing authors, PLEASE head on over to the third checkpoint and fill out the form so that we may know where you stand. (Or, alternatively, if you wish to drop out)

Thank you very much!

Attention, authors! The third checkpoint is here! As of this moment, you've got exactly one month left until your rough draft is due. Preferably, you should've reached the minimum goal of 15,000 words by now; so that you can use the remaining weeks for tweaking your story to perfection!

Don't worry if you haven't made it to the 15K mark yet; as with the previous checkpoints this is just for us (and you) to check-up on your progress. We strongly urge you to get crackin' now though--November 13th'll be upon you faster than you can say gobbledegook.

To help us keep track of everyone's story status, please fill out and comment with the form below:

• It is important that you take the time to fill this out so we can write it down and know where everyone is.

05 October 2009 @ 07:18 pm
Under the cut you can find the name of respectively your assigned author or cheerleader; so you can contact each other if you still need a hand with your story or if you're still willing to lend a hand/help you author out.

I can only encourage exchanging ideas, thoughts and whatnot since the third checkpoint is close at hand! (And the final deadline is only a month or so away!)

Match-ups under the cut )

Comments, remarks, whatever--don't hesitate to PM me (or one of the other mods) or drop a comment!

ETA: Heads up! There's been some (last minute) changes!

20 September 2009 @ 11:22 am
Attention authors! It's that time again! The second checkpoint is at hand, which means we want to see how your story is coming along. We've got less than two months to go before the 15K deadline of November 13th, so ideally your fic should have at least 10,000 words by now.

To help us keep track of your progress and to see if anyone requires additional help, please fill out and comment with the form below:

• It is important that you take the time to fill this out so we can write it down and know where everyone is.

THIS CHECKPOINT IS NOW CLOSED.

13 September 2009 @ 12:39 am
We're about halfway through the challenge and the second deadline is coming up fast; time for the cheerleaders to break out their pompoms. If you think you've got what it takes to encourage an author with her or his (or their!) story and you want to help out, now's the time to do it. There are several authors who'd really like some support, or just a friendly kick in the butt every now and then to keep up their good work.

So, if you'd like to sign-up as a cheerleader, please fill out and comment with the following form:

For the sake of the authors "in dire need of assistance", we'll try to do a match-up as soon as possible (depending on the number of cheerleader sign-ups). Cheerleader sign-ups will stay open for the duration of this challenge though; feel free to drop back at any point and add your name to the list--there's always someone who could really use your help.

If you have any other questions; either concerning these sign-ups, or something else, don't hesitate to contact the mods or leave a comment in our FAQ.

If you are an author still "in dire need of a cheerleader", and you haven't commented on our Authors Request For A Cheerleader-post, head on over there now!

04 September 2009 @ 07:27 pm
Okay, just so everyone knows author sign ups are over. You can still sign up as an artist however, and September 12th cheerleader sign ups open. If you are an author who needs a cheerleader please check out the post before this and sign ups for one, that way we can match you right away.
