Welcome to Harmony Podcast.

[SONG:"If Satellites Should Fall" by The Eisenhowers]

Hello and welcome to Harmony Podcast number 12, this is Misti. And just a brief background on the song you just heard, it`s a brand new song out by the Scottish band called The Eisenhowers. I received an email from Raymond at Serali Records a few weeks back asking if I would use one of their songs on my podcast. And I checked out the website address they gave me it`s http://www.serali.co.uk/eisenhowers/ and listened to some of the songs that they had on there and truthfully it was just, they`re a really good band. The simplicity of the guitar with the lead singers voice is just, I found it so soothing and comforting and relaxing all at the same time that I chose “If Satellites Should Fall” the name of the song, to play on my podcast. There`s many others on there, they`re just about to release their debut album that is entitled Almost Half Undressed and if you`d like to check out any of their other songs go to the website, they do have some free downloads available. Maybe you`ll find another one of theirs that you like as well.

Onto the podcast, it`s a pretty full one this month. We have an interview with Twitch E. Littleferret coming up, we have the second chapter of “Nanny Wanted” that I`m reading and the list of birthdays of course.

NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT

But first a little news announcement I`d like to make, just this past week I`ve become co-owner of witherwings.net if you`ve visited the site I`m sure you know it`s a Harry/Hermione site as well. And they have a place for Harry/Hermione fan fiction, for fan art, they have a news page, they have quite a few fan fiction writing contests from what I`ve noted on the website and their forums they`re basically doing a book 6 project and Jordan the founder of the website and co-owner with me now [laughs] that sounds so strange to say, but he`s putting together a book 6 project. And I could try to explain it but I don`t think I`d do it justice. If you`re interested in the project and you`re a fan fiction writer or editor you can go to the forums and just check out the book 6 project and it`ll have a description in there of what Jordan foresees in the future for that project it`s kinda hard for me to explain. I`m getting familiar with the website now and learning all the moderators, judges and everybody else that`s involved with the website. So I`m still kinda new to it but it`s an absolutely wonderful site and we would love to have it grow to be one of the bigger Harry/Hermione websites. So his site and mine are kinda, we`re joining ranks you could say. Becoming partners and hopefully we can make it a great place for Harry/Hermione shippers to go as well as the Harmony Podcast Website. HTV NOW PLAYS FROM WEBSITE

Which leads me to the next little announcement, today I finally got it so that you can go to the website and if you click on the HTV tab that`s at the top of the homepage it`ll take you to the HTV podcast page and there`s link to where it`ll take you to where you can download them but I`ve finally got it today so that it plays the episodes right on the page. Actually right now what it`s going to be it will play the latest episode, I have HTV #4 playing on there now, it does take a while to download because it gets the feed, it downloads the file from Libsyn the host website, and then it plays it on there on a Quicktime player. So if you have DSL it takes about 5 minutes or so and if you have dial up I`m not sure, it`s probably going to take a while longer. But if you have problems downloading it from Libsyn or if you`ve never been able to get it to work right on iTunes because I know some of you haven`t, you can now watch it on the Harmony Podcast website and I`m hoping to that with the podcasts as well so that you can go to the website and listen to it on there as you`re cruising around on the net.

I`m doing this basically on my own and I`m learning as I go so it`s little by little and I`m hoping soon I`ll have the entire website re-designed. It`s going to have a brand new look, it has a new welcome page already that I put together myself, I was quite proud that I actually accomplished that. Thanks to the help of nappa as well he helped me out with that, to get it to work. Anyway, I`m making improvements to the site as much as I can. A brief apology to any of you that are reading The Guardian right now last week and this week I was busy doing, trying to do the interview with Twitch E. Littleferret. I had the same problems as I did with Amynoelle and Heaven we just couldn`t get it to work. Twitch has a Mac, I have a PC and Yahoo Instant Messenger and the other messengers don`t seem to like to work together between our computers. So we ending up using Skype to do the interview over, the audio quality isn`t the best but it actually came out a lot better than I thought it would. Just keep in mind when you listen to the interview if you would please, this was done about 10 o`clock at night, and I believe we finished at 11.30 at night. We`re both parents, she has a young son, I have two younger boys as most of you know and the fact that we take care of them all day and then we did that interview at night [laughs] With the frustrations of the programmes not working and the fact that this was the second interview we had done together because the first one completely did not work, we were a little bit tired, a little punchy but hopefully you`ll find it more humorous than annoying. When I listened to it as I was editing it I couldn`t actually believe it was me. But anyway enough of my babbling I`m going to side away here into the interview, it`s about 40 minutes long. You guys asked some excellent questions and Twitch gave some really excellent answers to your questions so hopefully she`ll answer quite a few of them for you.


INTERVIEW WITH TWITCH E LITTLEFERRET


Anyway, here we go, here`s the interview with Twitch E. Littleferret.


Misti: Onto the interview with Twitch E. Littleferret we`re going to call you Twitch right?

Twitch: Yes

Misti: Okay. Starting with questions from the harryhermione lj community I`m not even going to ask you mine [laughs] I`m just going to go right into the communities here.

Twitch: Okay [laughs]

Misti: From templar1112002

“Okay, my question here, I've noticed she always includes Viktor Krum in her stories. Are we going to see him in More Important Things? I ask this because I think that he'll still play a role in the romance dynamics in HP7, but my hope is that next time it'd be Harry whom will get jealous, not Ron. JKR did say that we will see Viktor again.”

Twitch: Yes, umm, Victor will be in there but not as a major character like umm, not as a serious love interest for Hermione at all. I think it`s just going to be a passing like, hi how are you or it`s going to be very one sided it`s not going to be anything to make Harry completely jealous of her. I was hoping to get this interview done before I posted that chapter so everyone would still like me.

Misti: [laughs]

Twitch: So I still had friends.

Misti: You still have friends it`s just oh boy emotional roller coaster. You`re all like yay they`re together oh wait no they`re not [laughs]

Twitch: I know I`m sorry I didn`t mean it to make it turn into OC Hogwarts style [laughs]

Twitch: [laughs] It`s totally what it`s starting to do

Misti: [laughs] It`s too late at night I`m going to have to put a thing in the beginning saying how late it was when you and I did this.

Twitch: So if we`re extremely giggly

Misti: Yeah, please forgive our punchyness. Okay [laughs] It`s 10.30 at night we`re just starting this.

Misti: junesrose asks,

“I haven't read anything of hers yet, yes, shame on me, I thought I knew most of the H/Hr shippers. So, as a newbie to her fics, which story would she recommend me start reading first?”

Twitch: First of all I want to say junesrose is a fellow Tom Welling fan, she wrote on my Live Journal like we worship that guy.

Misti: And Tom Welling is the one that`s on Smallsville.

Twitch: Yes he is.

Misti: He plays Superman.

Twitch: He is a super man, yes he is.

Misti: He`s very hot yes [laughs]

Twitch: Okay now we took that moment. [laughs]

Misti: Yeah [laughs]

Twitch: Umm the fic a lot of people umm recommend or have liked is Pieces Of Us that they started out with. I mean you could start between either one of the two. Pieces Of Us and More Important Things seem to be the most popular ones. But umm people have said Pieces Of Us to start of with if you don`t want to jump into the monster that More Important things is.

Misti: The emotional roller coaster

Twitch: All right [laughs]

Misti: Put a warning on it [laughs]

Twitch: I guess it`s a romance/angst. Angst/action adventure

Misti: Drama/angst [laughs]

Twitch: They only let you put two on there. It`s so hard to chose from the emotional roller coaters.

Misti: I know, okay I`m losing my voice here. Question from alpha matrix is,

“I absolutely loved your writing in Pieces of Us - I'm actually re-reading it right now. You write angst really well, in fact, you've had me feeling utterly frustrated several times in "More Important Things."

Misti:Yes I`m totally with you there

"So my questions are pretty simple, how many chapters will More Important Things be? Or how many chapters do you have written?"

Misti: That`s the first one.

Twitch: Umm I just put out 33 chapters I think?

Misti: Yeah

Twitch: 33rd one and how long is it going to be? I have no idea, I never intended for it to be this long. I think this is by far is the longest one that I`ve written so, and we`re only like up to what, just past Christmas so

Misti: Yeah and it wasn`t a very good Christmas at all [laughs]

[both laugh]

Misti: Poor couple.

Twitch: I`m gonna gain a lot of flack for

Misti: You know I shouldn`t have re-read that last night, I really shouldn’t have.

Twitch: I know right before this interview. Like I said now you`re not gonna be nice anymore.

Misti: Of course I`ll be nice it`s a good story. I mean you experience the emotions as you`re reading it along. I mean, if an author can make you experience those emotions then it`s a good story.

Twitch: And if they don`t hate me completely that`s awesome. [laughs]

Misti: Yeah well, as long as it`s a happy ending they`ll love ya [laughs]

Twitch: I think I`m gonna make like a it`s on Portkey so we all know how it has to end Harry and Hermione I want to emphasise that. It. Will. End. Harry. And. Hermione.

Misti: [laughs]

Misti: And alphamatrix`s second question is,

“Do you write the chapters all at once, or post as they're written? And will Harry and Hermione ever get a break from the angst in More Important Things?”

Twitch: Okay

Misti: I wanna know that one too. Well they get a break though cause…

Twitch: They get a break.

Misti: They do get a break and then you put them through hell again and then [laughs] they get another break.

[both laugh]

Twitch: Okay I post them as they`re written and yeah they`ll get a break. I`m sure they will. I plead the fifth.

Misti: I was surprised where you took it in this last chapter with Hermione. I`m not gonna say what happens but that shocked me what she did. Did she ever find out that Harry was supposed to be head boy? Did I miss that?

Twitch: She… I don`t know if she did

[both laugh]

Misti: Because I was reading it last night and I was like wait a minute like so did she know that it was supposed to be Harry first but Ernie took over or I kinna…

Twitch: I think Ernie mentions it, I think it`s like implied cause Ernie gets a letter right around the time that she got, later she got her letter.

Misti: Ohh okay, yeah because I was reading along, well I started reading it at 1 o`clock yesterday afternoon and I finished it at 2 o`clock in the morning. I couldn`t stop reading.

Twitch: Yeah I think that`s what it was, it was implied. Because she kinna puts two and two together and then I think she confronts him about it later on.

Misti: How do I not remember that? Okay.

Twitch: I think.

Misti: All the hours I spent reading it.

Misti: From the Harmony podcast live journal community genki_geek says,

“This is so cool. I love her stories. Just one question for her and a kinda dumb one at that: in Time Warped, what made you decide to give Harry and Hermione 7 children? Most fics give them 2-3 kids, 4 at most.”

Twitch: Okay, I didn`t intend to give them 7 children in that one I wanted to show like a chaotic morning and so when I was writing it I was like oh okay this kid can`t be doing this because this kid is doing this and then it just kinda multiplied into the oh okay I`ve got 7 kids. But I didn`t mind it so much just because I figured the thing Harry probably wants most in the world is a family and Hermione, and both of them being only children and stuff like that. I figured that they wouldn’t mind having a house full of laughter and fun and kids or something that they didn`t have.

Misti: Right

Twitch: Especially Harry growing up, so I didn`t mind when it got to like seven. If it went to about twelve I`d be okay like okay.

[both laugh]

Twitch: Lets cut back a little bit here but

Misti: I haven`t read Time Warped yet, doesn`t sound as angsty though if they that many children, they`re having fun

Twitch: Yeah mostly Harry and Hermione aren`t the main characters it`s one of their kids.

Misti: Oh okay.

Twitch: It`s a different character in there it`s kinda a different twist

Misti: It`s kinda a different take on the story then.

Twitch: Yeah

Misti: Okay. Alexandra_stone didn`t ask a question. It just says,

“I love her work! But now that you mention the 'asking-question-thing' I cant seem to think of anything to ask.”

Twitch: [laughs]

Misti: I`ve had a few of those. Okay ethermopointer, he starts out,

“Honestly speaking, she is one of the best Harry/Hermione fanfics writer I've been fortunate to come across. The Harry/Hermione Christmas one shot, which was read in one of the Harmony podcasts, just blew me away. I haven't gotten around to read her other fanfics beside "More Important Things" although I'm certain that all of her work are superb. But what can I say about "More Important Things" other than wow. Well, at least that's how I feel after every chapter. Now onto the questions. Maybe you can select a few because some of them are just recycled from my last recommendation.

What encouraged you to be a Harry/Hermione shipper?”

Twitch: It was when I read Prisoner Of Azkaban. I didn`t read the first two Harry Potter books and someone who had told me that I could get away with just seeing the movies for the first two and still be okay on the third book. So after I read the third book I was kinda like you know these guys kinda connect on a nice little level. And I went back and I read the first and the second and was like yeah they just seemed to get along much more than she did with Ron.

Misti: I read through your journal, was it yesterday and you had made the comment about you went to see the movie Goblet Of Fire and the two women behind you commented about how they made a nice couple or they where going to get together or something.

Twitch: Yeah they thought that Harry and Hermione where going to get together and I kinna told them, like even my sister thought so too and I kinda told them like no Ginny and they were like who?! [both laugh] Yeah I mean I don`t how they`re gonna do that for the movies but I just thought that Harry connected, especially Harry. Harry connected more to Hermione more than he did to Ron in a, I don`t know like, the fact that they can just look at each other and know what each other is thinking.

Misti: Yeah

Twitch: That`s shown up several times and then Ron`s most of the time`s like what, who? I love Ron you know I do I`m just saying you know he just has that deeper connection with Hermione.

Misti: Yeah the way you write Ron, the one part, is it in the beginning where they`re arguing and they slam the door in his face

Twitch: Yeah everyone talks about that

Misti: And they won`t let him in and then she just says for Pete`s sake and locks it [laughs] Or she sticks the blanket on him, I about fell out of my chair laughing reading that part.

Twitch: I love Ron, he`s like one of my favourite characters, I mean you know the three of them they`re all great.

Misti: He`s the comedy relief

Twitch: Yeah, I really like him he`s so fun, he`s so innocent to me he`s so funny. [both laugh] I kinna like him in this fic. I didn`t want to make him a villain or like jealous or evil like in a lot of Harry/Hermione ones, fan fics.

Misti: Yeah but he does react though true to character would you know during the Christmas part with Harry and Hermione and what happens.

Twitch: Yeah

Misti: The way her protects her

Twitch: Yeah and then he ends up being like the middle child or stuck in between two parents who are divorcing.

Misti: Exactly [both laugh] Yeah I noticed that part.

“If you could, what missing scene or aspect from the book would you consider adding to the "Goblet of Fire" movie?”

Twitch: What was one of them? Oh the kiss, they never put that in there regarding Harry/Hermione they never put that in there.

Misti: They kinda changed it up though instead they had her kiss him on top of the head

Twitch: Yeah but I mean it wasn`t the same, offered the same thing you know what I mean like a good bye kiss other than a I just got out of the water nearly drowned kiss type thing [both laugh]

Misti: I`m kinda delirious but hey I`ll kiss you anyway.

Twitch: Yeah. They could have put that in there

Misti: I missed, like I said when we did it the last time, all the private lessons they had, the summoning charm. You know she taught him to summon the broom they never showed that part.

Twitch: Oh and also the fight when they when Ron and Harry weren`t talking it was Hermione that was by his side like when he, the morning after I think I said like he walks out of the common room and Hermione is there and she`s got toast and she`s like lets take a walk.

Misti: Yeah and they switched it up where like he`s by the lake with Neville and she walks down with Ron and Ginny and she`s mad at Harry not Ron.

Twitch: Yeah that`s kinda weird.

Misti: They kinda really mix that part up. Lets see

“I've noticed that you select a song to go along with each chapter in More Important Things . Is there a particular song that really stands out when you think H/Hr?”

Twitch: [laughs] What`d I say last time, “My Best Friends Girlfriend”

[both laugh]

Misti: Yep. Who sings that?

Twitch: Ahhh I`ll have to check, it`s on the tip of my tongue too. I don`t know, someone out there`s probably screaming the name right now.

Misti: I`ll get all these emails about who

Twitch: Who sings it? That`s gonna to bother me now.

“Looking back at your own work, in particular More Important Things , what were some of the most memorable moments that you've come to write about?”

Twitch: Everyone likes you know where it`s just Harry and Hermione shut Ron out that`s pretty funny. I kinna did that just on purpose just because I wanted to isolate you know the two of them and show that they where in their own little world, own little planet.

Misti: I love that you put Dudley in there. The way that you did, I love how you put his character in there.

Twitch: [laughs]

Misti: I loved it, I was like this is kind of cool

Twitch: How he reacts to Hermione.

Misti: I remember I started reading this story when you first started posting it and then I kinda lost track of it because I started doing the podcasts and everything. That`s why I went back last night and re-read it because I was like I`m interviewing her it would be kinda good to remember the most the biggest story that everybody is mentioning but yeah, I`d forgotten all those moments.

Twitch: That was a good one and I liked Harry and Hermione`s first little moment.

Misti: Yeah that was a good one and it was written true to life.

Twitch: Yeah

Misti: I liked that

Twitch: Yeah I try to make it as real as possible and then that`s all I can think off right now [laughs]

Misti: Well part of the Dudley part actually leads up to that fight.

Twitch: Yeah I like putting Dudley in there.

Misti: Yeah I still like that

Twitch: Following Hermione.

[both laugh]

Misti: “Say that H/Hr is cannon. Do you think you would have been as devoted and creative in your work as you are today in regard to the ship?”

Twitch: The AU stories would have happened. I`ve read a lot of those before Half Blood Prince so that would have stayed the same but More Important Things wouldn`t have gotten written.

Misti: Really?

Twitch: I really was hesitant to write anything that was non AU just because I`d never done it before I didn`t think I`d be really really good at it at all. So it was kinda like a gamble. MIT was written in response to an incident that upset me that I found on…

Misti: A certain website, lets just say that

Twitch: Yeah it didn`t have anything to do with the Interview of Doom because that was a while ago and I was still writing AU after that so I didn`t let it phase me.

Misti: Okay, yeah I don`t wanna give them any advertisement [both laugh] I`ve decided that a long time ago. Now with the AU fics I noticed, I haven`t written anything close to cannon since book 5 that’s why I put Queen of AU fan fics on my journal but do you get a lot of emails that state that, from people who really don`t like AU stories but they read yours on a lark and they actually really liked it?

Twitch: Yeah I think I got a couple. I got a lot of those on Games Of Hearts and The Lost King, Throne Reclaimed thing I got a lot on that one.

Misti: I got a lot on Nanny Wantedand I`ve been getting quite a few on The Guardian now too.

Twitch: See. Some of them, some people convert just because I don`t know if they just stumble across stories and are like all right what else is there to read here.

Misti: Well I think that they see the AU and they shy away from it right away.

Twitch: Yeah, well some can be a little weird. Most of the time I like check out other peoples stories. I try and at least check out once to see what everyone`s doing.

Misti: Okay, still the Harmony Podcast questions the community. pink butterfliesit says,

“Oh, she's in the top 5 of my favorite fandom writers. I can't think of a question except if she ever planned on finishing "Fear and Loathing." And if not, why not? That was the first fic of hers that I read over two years ago and it's still one of my favorites. Oh, and I'm talking about Fear and Loathing, which was posted over at FF.net not PK“

Twitch: Fear and Loathing is probably not going to get finished for several reasons, one, I lost all my notes like everything to that cause I`ve mentioned on my Live Journal before I lose things. So yeah that sucked completely. So then also Fan Fiction they took off all their R rated stories so that`s, I don`t even know where to find it. Like I tried finding it and I don`t know maybe I`m looking in the wrong area, I couldn`t even find it. Yeah I have no idea what they did with all their stories like that. And furthermore there`s a reason why it wasn`t posted on Portkey is because there are some Draco/Hermione moments in there. And for me to turn it into what I originally started writing it it was a Harry/Hermione one and then I realised at some point I would have to really make Draco out to be a complete jerk and suddenly make Harry the really really good guy. So you know I mean lobotomise these characters and that would have been horrible. [both laugh] So I`ve taken elements from Fear and Loathing and put them like in each of my fan fics just a reminder of humble, very humble beginnings.

Misti: I`ve have a question I`m going to insert in here

Twitch: Okay

Misti: In More Important Things is Draco gonna be in the story to the very end or will he kinda slip away before it`s over?

Twitch: I plead the fifth

Misti: Oh come on! [laughs] I wanna know cause every time he shows up I cringe. I`m like ohh I gotta read through this anyway. [laughs]

Twitch: I`ve got like so many people mixed on that, they`re like oh him again!

Misti: Well I told poppywillow today, I`m like you know you`d really like this story because she hasn`t got a chance to read it, cause I`m like it`s got Draco/Hermione kinna in there too it`s like a subtle little background thing going on.

Twitch: I think people have figured out and some know that I`m a closet Draco/Hermione shipper.

Misti: Yeah I think from that story they could figure that out.

Twitch: Just a little bit

Misti: [laughs] I`ve just I`ve never liked the two together but I kinna like you know suffer through those parts.

Twitch: Some people are like on the reviews I`ll get woo hoo he was on there and I`ve even gotten reviews from people were saying okay at the beginning I hated Draco but now I think I kinda like him and I don`t mind him hooking up with Hermione. That`s okay you can go ahead and write that. Some people are just like if he`s in this next chapter I`m deleting the story forever. [both laugh] So there`s a range of people out there.

Misti: I like him in the aspect that he brings out jealous Harry. I love jealous Harry!

Twitch: People love a jealous Harry.

Misti: I love writing him into the stories, it`s just, I don`t know what it is about it.

Twitch: I like playing Harry and Draco of off each other just because Draco knows he`s like the lemon juice on that cut you thought you didn`t have, that`s who he is.

Misti: Yep, noticed that too.

Twitch: Yeah

Misti: Okay, c_green365 asks,

“Where does she find the inspiration to write stories like Pieces Of Us and Game Of Hearts . Cause they're awesome.”

Twitch: I think I just, how did I start Pieces Of Us? I think I just started with the prologue like just Hermione is married to someone else and then going back together like going through their history of what happened, the baggage that they had and literally before they can get back together they have to put together their pieces their luggage. Put themselves back together before the end. Game of Hearts was inspired because I was taking a Jane Austen class at that time and I was kinda like in that state of mind. Too bad I didn`t get extra credit for it but you know. [laughs]

Misti: c_green also asks here,

“What's the status of "More Important Things"? Are we at the first half of the story? Does she already know how things are going to end?”

Twitch: Yeah I have an outline of what I want to happen. Like steps and stuff like that and then I just have to go by that and hope I got everything that I needed that`ll carry us over to the next chapter. The status of More Important Things? I wanna say it`s like half way, I`m trying to keep it similar to the books you know that it takes place through the school year mostly you know.

Misti: Is this going to be like 60 something chapters?

Twitch: No it will not be!

Misti: Cause I was gonna say you said it was like half way through here and I`m thinking we`re at 33 so 60...

Twitch: No that`s why I`m trying to put like longer chapters out.

Misti: Cause I was gonna say you`re gonna kill me [laughs]

Twitch: That why I`m so ambivalent about that because who the hell want to go on to Portkey and see oh a lot of people are talking about this story, oh my God there`s 60 chapters! [both laugh] That`s what I would do, I`d be a little scared about it at first and then I`d be like right this is going to be a month long project.

Misti: Yeah but then there`s people like me that love seeing completed stories because then you know once you start reading them you`re gonna get the ending.

Twitch: Yeah

Misti: It`s kinna like conflicting cause I`m a writer yes but I`m also a reader so I know what it`s like to have to wait for the chapter and I know what it`s like trying to get the chapter out.

Twitch: It`s like a gamble, when do we get the ending to this story. Yeah I think I`m like an insomniacs best friend with this story [both laugh]

Misti: Me last night 2am

Twitch: I`ve gotten so many reviews they`re like, oh I read this thing through took me like 14 hours. I`m like oh my God I`m so sorry people.

Misti: I`ve gotten those on Kindred Spirits Bound Souls because it`s 33/34 chapters right now, you know completed but yeah I`ve gotten those too you know I spent the entire day reading this story and it`s just great I`m like holy crud okay.

Twitch: I even thought of like okay I`m here at Christmas what if I just cut it off here and then put like we post it as a sequel, not even a sequel but like part 2 so that it doesn`t get completely daunting but I thought no I can`t split this story up.
