Jumping on the bandwagon here to announce a semi-hiatus for the next week or so. Midterms have snuck up on me; there's one this weekend, and then one during the following week, and then I'll have a floorset. And probably another midterm soon after.

Email is probably your best bet; I'm doing online classes, so I'm on my computer much of the time, but soon I won't actually... be available, ahaha.

Going to hammer out another tag for the log I'm WORKING on, though, so everyone else can get moving. ♥ Sorry for the holdup!

Just a quick heads-up that uni is about to start for me and that I'm dealing with the usual lot of nerve-frazzling mini-issues that drive me insane even though they're not worth it. Hi all!

*Hope you're having a good week. Going to keep this quick because gogo & gogod have limited access to internet. We're in NYC through Thursday evening and thought we'd have better access to the net. He's quite complex, and besides being quite helpful to the NYPD and those involved with crime scene investigations, he should be a lot of fun to log with. Hey guys~ I apologize for the lack of tags recently but uni's been really busy. That said, I'm gonna have to call hiatus for about two weeks. Midterms and stuff are coming up and I'm ASDFGJKL;DYING D=

I'm going to take a couple days of hiatus. My mom just had surgery, and she needs my help until she heals up a bit. So, I'm going to be staying with my parents for a couple of days, maybe more if she takes longer to recover. I just thought I'd let everyone know.

We just sent this out via email, but wanted to make sure that everyone saw this and put in their two cents.

Due to MSN being wonky for so many people during chat, and the fact that we've outgrown MSN's #-of-people-per-chat limit, we think it's time to try something different.

AIM has a browser-based chat option (http://chat.aim.com/) where we can make a temporary, private chat room that is stable, will fit all 20+ of us (on the chance that everyone is available for chat), let's you customize font colors and upload and display an icon, has AUDIO (sing-a-long tiems?) and VIDEO capabilities (porn tiems?), and--best of all--DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY OF US TO DOWNLOAD ANY MORE CHAT PLATFORMS. You do need an AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) username, but you don't need the AIM platform to use this.

Gogo made a test chat room, just so you could see what it's like. http://chat.aim.com/chats/quick-chat/hb-chat-test  The room is only accessible by this link, so it's not like random, scary chat room stalkers can sneak in (or so the FAQ says).  The room expires after  24 hours.

If you have AIM, please check it out and let us know what you think via comment here (easier for us if all the yays and/or nays are in one spot, rather than going back through a dozen emails.)

If people like the AIM chat room, we should be able to make a permanent one. Or, we continue with temporary ones, for the sheer fun of renaming the chat room something lulzy each week. And if this AIM also be wonky, the expedition for the ideal chat platform will continue.

Hey everyone!  Looks like the lure of the press was just too sweet for me to resist--so here she is!  Vicki Vale is Batman's Lois Lane.  In canon she's been smart enough to match up Batman and Bruce's photographs and dumb enough to believe whatever Bruce tells her to the contrary, although her suspicions never quite go away. 

Vicki is most at home behind the lens of her Leica.  She's as relentless in her quest for truth in her speech as she is in her photographs, and her ruthless honesty can occasionally be abrasive... except if she's after a story.  Then she's willing to do whatever it takes.  She's beautiful, intelligent, strong, and a trouble magnet.

Hi everyone.

As you all know by now, I'm withdrawing from the game. My change in living arrangements sort of ended up eating up most of my time and energy and, now that the fall semester's started, I'll have even less to spare.This version of Izuru is one of my favorites and I wish I'd been able to utilize him more effectively, but now he'll hopefully go to someone who will fit with the game better and be more active.

It's certainly been an interesting ride and I'll still be floating around on messengers if anyone wants to keep in touch. :)

Hello all. I'm Cat, though since I post everything under Imladra and my e-mail uses that name and all, you can call me that. I bring you Akon, a brilliant man who's good with his hands. (Take that any way you will.) Akon's been around and if you've ever known a professor, an out-there doctor, a scientist, maybe even a librarian - chances are, Akon knows 'em too. On the surface, Akon is straight-forward and easily distracted by complicated technical things and theories, but underneath...well, maybe you'll find out. Due to some experiments gone awry, the man has a penchant for fedoras pulled down low.

FYI, Akon Mori is currently a freelancer under contract with Wayne Enterprises. He's available to take jobs for various factions, at his and Cat's discretion, of course. If you want him, grab him soon. He'll definitely be busier once Bruce gets in the game and starts doin' his Batman thing. That's not to say that he'll be completely tied down to Wayne Enterprises. Every man has his price, after all... We'll let Imladra/Cat tell you more about Akon when she does her introduction.

And speaking of Batman... some_scribbles , whom you all know and love as Shira, has rocked our socks off again with her Vicki Vale app. This is awesome, ya'll! HB now has media. WOOT! As for Ms. Vale... Watch out, male characters! She is smart and sexy (so beguiling). We're thrilled to have more Batman characters and are tickled that Shira is now playing two beguiling redheads. Vicki will be snooping around various logs, interviewing various characters, and writing up news articles and tidbits. (Shira--we discussed where and how to post in chat, but we'll discuss more before the first article goes up. thnx). Congrats to Shira!! We can't wait to see Vicki in action.

A quick intro post to welcome out newest member nwoppertje , who has recently picked up Ikkyu Hosakawa. Ikkyu is part of the Golden Dragon Fly group and an assassin along side Agon. Now that we have two assassins in town, maybe this is a grand time for people to seek them out!

I've been meaning to post this for a while...

From day one, I've been trying to figure out a way for Ulquiorra to have the black lines on his face. I've always felt that they were as much a part of him as his solemn demeanor. But... it's not like a tattooed face is very common now, let alone in the 1950's. So, after much thinking, I've finally come up with an idea that I like. I'm attempting to work this into Ulquiorra's history, but, in the mean time, I'll post the general concept here.

Ulquiorra's grandfather, Geno Beltrame, was an Italian businessman. He owned a business that imported saffron, and on the side (or rather, behind the scenes) he did a bit of smuggling and set up some illegal gambling. He was no Don Corleone, but he was fairly influential and moderately wealthy.

One day, a local gang decided that they wanted to steal a bit of Geno's wealth. Instead of going about it the proper way, they took what they considered to be the easy route - they kidnapped Geno's only grandson (Ulquiorra) and held him for ransom.

Young Ulquiorra, who was fifteen at the time, was in the gang's custody for a total of four days. In that time, he was looked after by four men. And by "looked after," I mean abused. They made a sport of beating him silly, trying to make him scream or beg. But Ulquiorra was a prideful young man, and wouldn't give them the pleasure of seeing him cry out.

After a while, the men got tired of his brave facade. They beat him within inches of his life and, after they had celebrated by drinking a few bottles of cheap wine, decided that if they couldn't make him cry real tears, they'd give him the next best thing. They rounded up some India ink (they were in an warehouse that was stocked with loads of marvelous things), and told Ulquiorra that they were going to give him permanent tears. After cutting deep lines into his cheeks, they put ink in the wounds, and then sealed them shut by going over them with a searing hot knife blade. Afterwards, they laughed and laughed - delighted that they had given the stoic boy "clown tears" that would never fade away.

Although Geno Beltrame eventually rescued Ulquiorra (by killing the head of the gang that was responsible), Ulquiorra knew that he'd never forget those four days, or those four men. His captors had fled when they heard that their leader had been murdered, probably leaving town for good. But... Ulquiorra swore that some day he'd find them. And kill them. As a reminder (as if he really needed one), he got another tattoo - one that he received of his own volition.

I get my wisdom teeth taken out today((D:!!!!!)), and while I should be better by the weekend at the latest, I'm going to need the extra time to catch up on the readings I'll have missed for my classes, as well as some extra studying to get myself properly caught up.
