This has been cropping up all over LJ but it bears repeating.
It has been brought to my attention through various communities that there is a "nasty malware virus spreading through the social networking sites, including LiveJournal. It targets communities, generating a mod-ish looking post informing the membership that the community is being closed, and then deletes all the community's entries. The post includes a couple of links which, when clicked, will infect the clickee, compromising their personal info as well as their f-list.
So...please be aware that THIS COMMUNITY IS NOT CLOSING. If you see such a post, do NOT click any of the internal links. Please DO report the post to LJ Support by clicking the red flag icon or the "flag" link, depending upon your viewing option. This warning is site-wide, so please keep this in mind if you encounter strange so-called administrative messages on other communities of which you are a part."
I check LJ often so you guys can always drop me a PM or a comment and know that I will get back to you ASAP. So if you do see something like this at all regarding this community do let us know and we'll get to the bottom of it.
Remember: Do not click on any link for any community that is saying it is closing!

Also, if you've been friended by random weird looking lj names, please be aware that they may well be bots. If in doubt, there is a place you can let LJ know and they'll investigate. Go

Finally, if you're running Firefox, I cannot recommend the following keystroke blocker addon enough. It's
Key Scrambler and I see it's now available for IE as well. Free download for personal users is
