Official Rules Post 2008
Here are the Rules for this year's Fest. Please read them!


Rules for Requests
1. Comment to the request post (open May 2) with a prompt.
2. The prompt should be set within the time frame of one year following the end of the final battle in DH. While flashback fics are allowed, the majority of the action should take place in the one-year-after-DH period.
3. Please try to be specific in the missing moment you wish to see (i.e. 'George has to deal with Fred's death on their birthday' as opposed to 'Any moment where George grieves for Fred'. Remember, the more specific you are, the more likely you are to get what you want.)
4. Please indicate what pairing you would prefer to see. If you would like genfic, just write 'Gen'.
5. There is no limit on the number of requests per person, but be prepared that not all requests may get claimed/written.
6. Please request in this format (example):

Requestor: shiiki
Prompt: Kingsley Shacklebolt offers Harry a position as an Auror.
Pairings (if any): Gen
Fic or Art: Fic
Rating: PG

9. Please be responsible and do not make a request for an NC-17 fic if you are underage!
10. Remember, requests end May 16!



Rules for Claims
1. The master list of claims will be put up on May 21. Comment to the post with the request you would like to claim.
2. Each request can only be claimed once, unless the requestor has asked for either fic or art, in which case the request may be claimed once for fic and once for art.
3. Up to two claims may be picked up per author/artist, with additional claims being made on request only if the author/artist has completed both claims. Please contact the mods if you wish to make additional claims.
4. Claims will be awarded on a first come first serve basis. It is advisable to give alternative choices in case your first choices have been claimed by someone else.
5. Claims may be made up til the date of posting - July 21.
6. Please be responsible and do not claim fics specifically asking for NC-17 content if you are underage!



Instructions for Posting
1. All fic must be at least 500 words in length.
2. Please ensure that your fic has been beta-read and meets a reasonable standard of quality. Community posting will be moderated, and the mods reserve the right to reject a fic that is not up to standard.
3. Post your fic/art in this format:

4. If a fic you come up with falls outside the rules - for example, if you tweak a story about the Grangers regaining their memories to take place primarily during DH - you may still email the mods a link, and we will add it to the masterlist at the end of the fest in a separate section.



Archiving Rights
Please do not archive your fic elsewhere until after September 1. Feel free to pimp, however!
