Re: Wanijima Kaito

Personality:

Kaito survives on beer, instant noodles and cigarettes, and is not afraid of letting his opinion be heard in the most vulgar way he could express them in (if anybody has any doubt about where Agito learned to swear like he did, they should really meet Kaito. He invented swearing.) Kaito is relentless in his capture of AT users, given his hatred for them and the number of his subordinates who had died in their missions against them. Manipulative, sadistic, and vulgar, Kaito mistreats his younger brother when he realized that the boy has a natural talent for ATs and would be able to aid him in his arrests (or what seems more like 'exterminations'.)

However, despite all his character flaws, Kaito strangely has the loyalty of his subordinates who seemed to understand him well enough to know that his mistreatment of Akito (namely, whipping him, putting him in a cage, threatening to put a bullet through his tongue etc) is simply his clumsy way of showing brotherly affection. Kaito himself is in denial of any emotions towards the boy, writing off any displays of brotherly love as an attempt at better manipulating the boy. However, there is no doubt that Kaito is extremely protective of his brother (firing at Ikki for showing his penis to Agito) and that he still kept the photos of Akito pinned up on the wall of his trailer van (together with a dart board of Ikki's face, whom he probably believed to be the 'perverted bastard' who had stolen his brother away from him.)

Background/History Link: The pathetic amount of information available on Wikipedia.

In order to conserve energy that had been lost to heat and sound in various activities, the Gravity Children project was kicked started, genetically engineering children and raising them in a zero gravity environment, and the developing of evolved skates known as Air Trecks to allow for easier movement in such environment. However, as the project begins to develop, the scientists involved in the project began to toy with the idea of experimenting on normal children to see if the same concept could work on them.

Kaito and Lindo, the sons of one of the scientists in the project team, were shortlisted as candidates, since their father had exposed them to Air Treck technology and its side developments (such as tuning etc) at a young age due to their interest and his work in the team. The team later decided on experimenting on Lindo, as he was far more talented at Air Trecking than his older brother was. Kaito, after realizing the true reason why their father had been bringing Lindo to the laboratories, took his brother and ran away, changing their family name to 'Wanijima' to avoid recapture. In order to conserve strength that had been drained from the various experimentations done on him, Lindo created an alter-ego who called himself 'Akito', taking an anagram of his brother's name as his own.

With nothing more than a name to their assets, the brothers began a life of hitch-hiking, with Kaito taking up odd jobs from whoever was willing to employ a high school dropout. It was also these days of living on the streets that affected his speech patterns from that of the eldest son of a reputable family to that of a street punk.

He finally saved up enough money to buy himself a secondhand truck, which he quickly set about modifying into a residential vehicle in order to suit their needs. Around that time, Air Trecks, together with related youth crimes involving it, began to enter the market, prompting the need for a team in the police force to be set up to counter these acts. With his knowledge of Air Trecks as an undeniable advantage, Kaito managed to gain a place in the force, rising quickly in the ranks to form his special SWAT team, the Windstorm G-men, to tackle AT related crimes. This act, in turn, also puts himself and his brother in the spotlight enough that those who were involved in the project would not attempt to capture them again.

Player objective: I've always been intrigued by Kira - this man that could love and hate a woman with all his soul, fight and die for her, losses his memories and leave his morals behind yet grow internally as a character, changing as he changes everyone around him. I'm going to do my best to get into his head, see what makes him tick, and be as involved in as many political schemes as possible. Smut is definitely up for grabs, though that would depend on how the other players go with their characters. And world domination (of course).

How can the mods help you have the most fun?

*Character*

Fandom: Angel Sanctuary
Character Name: Kira Sakuya
Point in Canon: Depending on when the roleplay starts, if it's at the time earth's time stops, I would be taking Setsuna's body to a safe place in Kurai's keep.
Personality: Kira is a very dangerous man - sleek and beautiful, but the way a panther is beautiful - hidden claws and sharp sharp teeth. He has a good grasp of everything happening around him, and the ability to think clearly in a stressful environment, but by far his best ability is the way he can see and understand another character - their weakness, their strength, and what they are fighting for. He's loyal to Setsuna because he views the boy as a kid brother, but he's not too tender-hearted to hurt the boy when situation calls for it. Kira keeps his secrets close to himself, preferring instead to give cryptic comments, if any. In a fight, he would be a wild card - unafraid to die and unafraid of pain since he can regenerate.

Background/History Link: Kira is the personification of the seven-bladed sword that Alexiel held when she battled heaven. He was able to communicate with her telepathically, and she was the only master he ever acknowledged - until Setsuna. Kira has lost all memories of his time before he was placed in the sword, and though he knew the Alexiel could reveal his past, he did not push the issue but decided to stay with her. After Alexiel is defeated, a drop of Rosiel's blood spilled upon him, giving him spiritual form which he used to take over soon-to-be-dead bodies to remain close to Alexial's numerous reincarnations. There's been at least once in his past life where he had a romantic relationship with her but it was only until Setsuna that Kira realized that because of his interaction with humans, he was slowly starting to become one himself. And not only that, he was starting to enjoy being a human - feeling human pains, learning human joys, meeting other people.

Character motivations: Kira really doesn't give a damn what happens between the angels and demons. But, he knows the Setsuna is caught in the midst of all this, so he does try his best to help or ease Setsuna through things that could not be avoided. After Kira meets a few Satans, namely Belial, he would be split between loyalties - for Setsuna or for himself, to regain his memories.

Starting Position: Earth, nearer to Hell - Kira would stay close to Setsuna, trying to protect the boy as much as he can. Also Kira knows that all these events is happening around the boy, so if he wants any action, all he has to do is stay near Setsuna.

Occupation: Human - jack of all trades, not a master at anything, but knows a bit of everything.

*Writing samples (the necessary evil)*

First-person canon sample:
It's a god-damned day, that's for certain. If it wasn't enough that Setsuna had ran off with the only his sister in mind, uncaring of how anyone else thought or how everyone would be affected by his actions. Uncaring about himself. What a idiot.

But, back on the subject. As if the Fates had decided I hadn't trouble enough, a strange guy had appeared, seemingly from the stones. Tch, security these days. I really must speak to Kurai about these things - like how her visitor is circumventing all the careful planning we've put in about safety. Well, maybe the little squirt thinks I don't know about that. As if.

The stranger stirred, breathing patterns caught for a moment before noticeably changing back. The bastard was awake. Well, nothing for it.

Third-person canon sample:

"Are you...an angel?" Kira rasped out. Not the best of greetings, but what did you expect? He had just suffered a thrust to the throat. The guy knew how to fight, and even before the guy answered, Kira knew the answer. Too rough for those high-assed bastards, too unrefined for their holier-than-tho expressions, enough humanity and moral standard to not pretend to be something he is not. Still, it didn't hurt to ask.

Or maybe it did. The bullet smashed through his rib cage, tearing muscle and skin and Kira almost sighed at the pain - sweet relief, gentle nothingness - until the regeneration kicked in, pulling energy from the blood stain in his chest. God-damn-it all, but he could tell he was getting close to the end. One or two more of this, and he really might kick it. Ah, the prices of being human.

Looking up (which happens to be the only way he could look since the bastard was practically on top of him), Kira smirked at his shocked expression. Not a demon or angel then if he's never seen regeneration - but he knew that, the guy had barely any spiritual energy. Must not be a big believer.

Third-person game sample:

"Really?" Kira grinned his bad-boy smile, half daring him to try again. "An atheist you say? I would never have guessed. What a surprise you're in for."

With a nail, he casually, slowly, drawing the other person's eye down to his chest, he scraped it across the blood stain, causing a spray of blood to splatter on the stranger. The ruby drops looked oddly fitting against the silver hair. Hmmmm. Wrapping his own powers around the astral opening, he pulled out his favored weapon - the katana that had followed him through the ages. Heaving up, he shoved the other man back.

This should serve as a nice distraction till Setsuna gets back.

Jade Curtiss 1/2
[info]necroshmancer
2008-07-09 05:18 pm UTC (link)
*Player*

Name: Zoe
Email: necroshmancer@livejournal.com
AIM: necroshmancer
Player objective: I enjoy political intrigue and scheming the most.

*Character*

Fandom: Tales of the Abyss
Character Name: Jade Curtiss
Point in Canon: Right before the last battle.
Personality:

Malkuth's infamous necromancer is a contradiction in terms : honest to a fault, he will always say what is on his mind, more often than not offending everyone around him with his sarcasm and his rapier wit ; but so private as to be withdrawn, he hides behind his military rank and his diplomatic credentials a deep-seated insecurity due to his greatest failure -fomicry-, and his greatest weakness -his own emotions-.

Jade carefully cultivates an image customized to avoid excessive responsibility and extra work. Slightly self-involved, and sometimes just plain lazy, he uses his grand 'old age' of 35 to manipulate people into doing his chores, and does tend to avoid showing the depths of his knowledge when it could get him 'volunteered' for assignments... this extends to his career in the military, where he expends most of his energy, after reaching the satisfactory rank of Colonel, desperately avoiding a promotion to General.

He has persuaded himself that he is a scientist to the core, that he is completely detached from his feelings, and that rational thought is the only thing that rules his life. As a result, he always acts based on what he logically decides is the right course of action, no matter who it will hurt, or how people will interpret his actions.

Slow to trust, impatient, but even tempered, Jade is misunderstood -and feared- by many

Background/History Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_characters_in_Tales_of_the_Abyss#Jade_Curtiss

Starting Position: Heaven. Jade is methodical and organized, so Hell and its anarchy would not be a good fit. And while he could perhaps fit on Earth, he has a sense of superiority and entitlement that would make him more likely to align with Heaven.

*Writing samples (the necessary evil)*

First-person canon sample:

When I stepped in my office, I instantly realised that something was deathly wrong.
The mess on my desk looked... different. My favorite tea-cup was on the floor and the paperwork which had haunted my dreams for days -who knew requesting bacon for the Tartarus's kitchen could be so difficult in Malkuth?- was missing.

"Where are you, you little wretch..."
Nothing under the desk, nothing under the chair, or in the open file folders... that's when I noticed, peeking from behind the potted plant that the Department of Palace Decoration kept on replacing each time it wilted, a telltale thin pink tail.

And in that corner... a rappig. One of Emperor Peony's fat, brainless pet rappigs, sitting on its rump, chewing on paperwork that kept me up all week.

Before I can plan its untimely demise -here is the bacon I was looking for- Peony enters.
The spring in his walk, the smile on his face... he waves at me. He knows.
He knows I know he knows.
He scoops up the pink pudgy scoundrel. "There you are, 'Cute Jade', I've been looking all over for you!", he chides the animal, in his cheerful voice.
He leaves.

I couldn't say a word.
A smile from him, and I lay down arms.
Time to pick up my pen.

Third-person canon sample:

Jade's face took on a decidedly displeased expression. He pushed his glasses up his nose, switched the hand on his hip twice, before finally commenting to Luke, in a sentence that sounded almost like a long suffering sigh: "If that's all you're capable of, you better practice swinging that sword around for something other than harmless sparring. I already have enough burdens to contend with!"

Why am I always saddled with incompetents?

He brought a hand up and massaged the bridge of his nose. Idiots and their ilk always gave him the most frightful headaches. He found himself contemplating dropping them all here and getting the work done himself... but Emperor Peony would find out. And then Jade would have to listen to one of his never-ending lectures. And then be sentenced to rappig-bathing or, even worse... filling in complicated paperwork Peony would invent for this special occasion.

So he had to continue herding this little band of reprobates. Too much explaining to do otherwise.
But, right now, being useless, he was more work for Jade, and if there was something Jade hated it was extra work. The only logical conclusion, though he was loathe to admit it, was to try to teach Luke to be useful.

That's when a brilliant thought dawned on him: "Oh, Guy, it seems you are done cooking dinner... why don't you come over here..."

Third-person game sample:

Jade stared at the precarious pile of beige, nondescript, folders, teetering on the edge of his desk. Had he been asked, he could have stated under oath that he had died and gone to hell, since his karma was such that the paperwork he so masterfully avoided on Auldrant caught up with him in this world.

Why did angels need so many reports anyway? Couldn't they just smite the wicked and leave him alone in his cubicle to wait for judgement day? Jade had to admit that when he first heard of the rumours of war, he perked up. A war... finally, action. He had been a Colonel, and a fearsome fonist, before his death, not a paper-pushing bureaucrat.

And then Zaphkiel had waltzed by with his ever-present smile pasted on his face, waltzed right by Jade's desk without seeing him, and the requisition paperwork had started coming in as the Throne's vast network of spies deployed.
It hasn't stopped since.

This had to be penance.
Somehow, he had the feeling Peony was laughing at him.

Player objective: I would like to stay active in plot, have fun. I am simply here to RP. I seriously doubt Trevor would try to take over anything… he’s too damn noncommittal.

*Character*

Fandom: PzB” Are you Loathsome tonight
Character Name: Trevor Mcgee (Black)
Point in Canon: The end after he runs away to jamaica
Personality: Trevor is not one that really makes friends. He is a loner and loves his privacy. As a kid he wasn’t like that, but after waking up to his whole family dead, it kind of takes it’s toll on a five year old. For the most part he is calm, but entering in on his personal life can have its toll on the other person, in other words, Trevor is not above killing someone. Don’t misunderstand though. He’s not completely cold hearted, but the people he does meet and he does talk to, he keeps them at a distance, the only exception being his lover, but that was because Trevor didn’t have much of a choice in the matter.
Background/History Link: There’s not really that much information on her books. http://www.amazon.com/Are-You-Loathsome-Tonight-Collection/dp/1887368256 a link to the book. Trevor’s family moved around when he was little, at the age of five he woke up to find his mother and little brother dead and his dad hanged in the bathroom. After spending his time in an orphanage he was released at eighteen and started publishing his comics under the name “Trevor Black”. His dad was an artist as well, and to steer away from people knowing who he was, he published under an alias. He traveled back to Missing Mile, NC when he turned twenty-five and stayed in the house that his dad murdered his family in for the twentieth anniversary of their death.

In missing Mile he comes across another boy, this one trying to escape his past, or rather the boy stumbles across him, and through some odd twists of fate they fall in love with each other. This, with a strange account of Trevor meeting his father through a mushroom trip almost results in his lover’s death and a nervous breakdown on Trevor’s part. The night after both have to flee have Missing Mile knowing the cops are after Trevor’s lover, and the two go live in Jamaica, where both boys recoup until Trevor wakes up one day and realizes he’s not on a Jamaican beach anymore.
Character motivations: N/A
Starting Position:Occupation: Art. Sketching, drawing and comics. Free lance artist.

*Writing samples (the necessary evil)*

First-person canon sample: okay…this just seems unnatural i not a computer person zach is… thisisawkward………….well zach can read this later….is dumb

Third-person canon sample: It still hurt, even now he couldn’t draw for too terribly long. His hand would cramp up and he would have to put the pen down before his lines got shaky. He took a small break, looking out his window and watching the two people that were actually out on the beach. He liked this style of life. This was living, and for the first time in a long time he could remember what being happy felt like.

Trevor flexed his hand, turning it over and looking at the pale pink lines that ran over his knuckles in a spider web fashion. It really hadn’t been that long since he had met Zach in Missing Mile, but if he thought about it those memories just seemed so far away, that entire life, stuck in that small town, not knowing what was going to happen from second to second, finally having to leave and run away.

Trevor didn’t mind it so much. He could still draw after he destroyed his hand, and after twenty years, he found love again. He sighed loudly before grabbing his keys and walking out of their home. The beach sounded like a good idea for now.

Third-person game sample: What the hell was he doing in this place? The only thing he can remember is sitting on the beach, pad and pencil in hand, and then absolutely nothing. He woke up in nothing but his jeans. There was no shirt and he wasn’t on the beach, hell he wasn’t even in the big cities in Jamaica. He was lost in a plethora of sky scrapers. Finally he took notice of the people around him, completely frozen in time.

He took a few steps, looking over their features curiously before he reached out to touch one. Trevor didn’t know what to expect, but the body wasn’t cold, actually it didn’t really feel like anything. The artist in him wanting to pull out his pad and paper, right now he had completely perfect subjects. They wouldn’t move or shift. Who would have thought it would have been possible to draw still life when there were humans involved.

He lost interest in them and started to walk around. He hated big cities, he wasn’t used to them, but at least he didn’t have to worry about anyone touching him or dealing with him, this place looked deserted. He figured this was just another dream, but Trevor would have to admit, this was a little more fucked up then Birdland…

*Player*

Name: Emi
Email: Emi01GCNG@yahoo.com
AIM: Emi01GCNG
Personal LJ:
Player objective: Plot keeps me a lot more interested than disjointed logs and crack I guess? So I’m mostly here for plot and good fun.

*Character*

Fandom: Angel Sanctuary
Character Name: Katan
Point in Canon: Even though the community is set around volume four when time stopped on earth, I’d rather pull Katan from 3 because after that he was missing half his body and then he was a chord-monster for a while. I think it’d be better to start him in a community if he was whole and functioning properly. But if anyone would prefer him to be otherwise I’m alright with playing him like that. ;)

Personality: Katan is level headed, gentle, and has such respect for life that genuinely cares about most anyone. He nearly died trying to save Kirie, though he knew Rosiel had intended to sacrifice her, so I would say he also deals with a fair amount of inner conflict. Katan knows the difference between right and wrong, the consequences of any decision he might make, and the punishments he could receive for going down the wrong path. Sometimes he abides by his own moral code, but other times (most times) he would sin or defy anyone if it would benefit Rosiel. He is someone who is pure-hearted and wishes to do what is right, but his good intentions don’t always yield good results.

Background/History Link: Wiki
Originally he was a Grigor with no corporal form, no voice, and was destined like all of his kind to be used for one task by higher angels and die immediately afterwards. But unlike most of the others Katan was capable of deeper thought and questioned the their existence. Rosiel heard him and answered; he created a body for Katan, gave him a gender, a name, and told him that if he wanted to meet him again he should come to Entemenanki at Atziluth.
Curious about him, Katan studied “like a madman” and pushed his way up the ranks to get the chance to see his “father” once again.

Character motivations: (In early cannon?) He’s working towards collecting enough power to release the seal on Rosiel and then convince him to return to heaven. Katan believes that Rosiel’s presence could end the power struggle between the greater angels and restore peace. He is very concerned with doing everything he can (sacrificing schoolchildren included) to maintain the balance and end the turmoil. Ultimately though, he will put Rosiel above all else, including God’s laws.

Starting Position: Earth is my preferred starting position only because that was where he was in cannon for the beginning of the series. I’m perfectly fine with him being in heaven though. Stick him wherever you feel like he should be, I’m easy going.
Occupation: Cherubim~

*Writing samples (the necessary evil)*

First-person canon sample:

He was the only one who heard us; who heard me. The screams of one insignificant life after another being extinguished were becoming to much to bear. After all, we were only meant for one task. Only meant for one thing, even it was just to keep the higher ranks amused. But he heard us. Not only that but he listened to my questions, and gave me a body so that I could seek out the answers. He gave me life, and living flesh. He gave me a name.
He was kind, but he’s been sealed away for so long and I fear something has changed in him. I worry for him. But still, despite that, he could be the end to this turmoil in heaven. He could help.
I believe in him.

Third-person canon sample:

Katan straightened his collar and pulled another jewel case from his pocket. There was a group of teenagers directly to his left, laughing and chatting eagerly about their plans for the weekend. They were fresh-faced, young, and still in their uniforms. He knew he’d be damned for everything he‘d done, but the heavens needed Rosiel’s guidance, and if he could only break the seal and resurrect his Lord perhaps there would be a chance for order and peace. He hoped with all of his soul that this wasn’t for naught.

The group walked away, but there was one left behind. He didn’t seem to be friends with them, or interesting in leaving his seat. He was clutching a handheld game tightly and his fingers were working furiously to beat some pixilated boss. Katan frowned. Hopefully he would be the one they needed. The one that would give all the other sacrificed children meaning in their deaths.
He approached the boy with the disk in his hand.
“Do you believe in God?”

Third-person game sample:

Lying face down on cold pavement wasn’t a dignified position for an angel to be in, so as soon as consciousness registered Katan pushed himself up and rolled back onto his haunches. He blinked to clear his vision and glanced around the area to see people walking around, meandering through their daily lives. But they weren’t actually walking, were they? Everyone seemed to be stuck in mid step; a girl skipping after her mother, a man swatting away an insect, and another who appeared to be in the process of spilling coffee on himself. Everyone was frozen in time.

“What has happened here?” he whispered to himself, standing slowly.

Recalling recent events lead him to realize that there was an alarming gap in his memory. Kirie had been stalking Setsuna, and he’d being worried about what she might do and for her well being in general. But after that; nothing. And now it seemed as if something very important had happened.
Katan frowned and flexed his wings out, it would be best to find Rosiel and get to the bottom of this as soon as possible.

Personality: More than anything Eddy enjoys her independence. She is proud of the fact that she’s a strong woman who can take care of herself, however she chooses to do so. Besides, it was a bit of a challenge, and just the type of challenge he could handle.

Eddy is not an adventurer or a risk-taker or a thrill-seeker in any way, shape, or form. She prefers a degree of stability and reassurance, even if that means making room for predictability and routine. At least if you know what’s going to happen, you can keep yourself and the people you care about safe. She’s perfectly content to get drunk, maybe even stoned, cozy up with a horrible of horror film, and watch the exciting thing happen to people on television.

There is also another, rather separate persona that she uses for work. Miss Lee, her stripper alias, is dangerous, sexy, and ultra feminine. Eddy does it because it makes her feel powerful and untouchable at the same time. Not to mention the money in it is amazing. When not performing Eddy is almost the opposite: a slightly hardened street punk with too many ear piercings, a wildly uneven haircut, dirty haircut and maybe a skipped shower.

Background/History Link: Edwina Sung grew up in a mostly traditional Korean household, instilled with a small sense of obedience, politeness, and plenty of spicy food. Eddy got out of there almost as soon as she could. For a while she waited tables at a local restaurant in New Orleans, which paid the bills but she hated it. Eventually, she got a job stripping at the Pink Diamond Lounge, which she says is much less demeaning.

Unfortunately for her, Eddy’s best friend in the entire world was Zach Bosh. Aside from Zach’s hacking thing, and the fact that he was, you know, a genius, it’s like they were separated at birth with the same tastes in movies, music, sense of humor. He was so smart, so cool ,and so wild, how could Eddy help but fall for him? She tried to keep her feeling in because she knew Zach would never return them. She rationalized it, saying it wasn’t her, Zach didn’t do romance with anyone, only meaningless sex and apparently he cared about her too much for that, right?

One day, Zach found himself in trouble with the government, and before Eddy had time to really think about it, he was gone. She left him with his apartment, all of his stuff and $10,000, but she would have traded it all to have him back instead of waiting for secret messages from him in the newspaper. Before long one of Zach’s hacker friends tipped off the feds, and after coming up with an escape plan with the help of their friend Dougal, Eddy went to go rescue him.

What she found was shocking, to say the least. Not only had Zach, in less than a week, become half of a genuine couple, but he’d obviously fallen in love and felt no qualms about making this perfectly obvious right in front of her. Upset, angry and feeling betrayed, Eddy took his car and headed west while Zach took Trevor to Jamaica.

Character motivations: N/A

Starting Position: Earth, please! I don’t see Eddy quite fitting in the hierarchies of Heaven or Hell. And she doesn’t quite have that much good or that much bad in her. Give her a group of crazy misfits any day. ;D

Occupation: Does stripper count as an occupation? She can waitress also, heh.

*Writing samples (the necessary evil)*

First-person canon sample: Right, so… I guess it’s my turn, then. For some grand fucking adventure. I think I deserve at least that much, right? I think I’m finally done with worry about other people and what they want… what they think of me, how they feel. I can see the appeal of this, it is kind of exciting I guess.

…typing like this makes me think of him. Shit, I can’t get anything right, can I?

Third-person canon sample: Glancing between the rearview mirror and the road, Eddy knew it was only a matter of time before she would be pulled over. And unmarked car had been following her for a good fifteen minutes now and as she looked back she saw the flashing lights. Turning down the music she heard the sirens as well. Smirking to herself, Eddy quickly pulled over. So far everything was going according to plan and she’d gotten almost two hours away from Missing Mile.

Rolling down the window, Eddy smiled sweetly at the officer, thankful it wasn’t the FBI agent that showed up in the Quarter. She acted like she was being pulled over for speeding, which she had been, and acted suitably surprised when the cop asked her a different question. He explained that this vehicle had last been seen in the possession of one Bosch, Zachary and if she knew anything about that by any chance?
With a grim sort of expression, she said, “I’m sorry sir. I don’t know any Zachary Bosch.” The policeman had no idea just how true that statement was, but he thanked her and returned to his car, which meant Zach much have switched the records like she asked and all the cop saw was that the car had been registered to her all along.

Eddy smiled and pulled away again, trying not to remember why she liked him so much.

Third-person game sample: Eddy was not nearly as freaked out as she figured she was supposed to be. Mostly what she felt was awe. Carefully, as though she was in slow motion, Eddy weaved through the people and waved her hand in front of their faces. None of them moved or even blinked. What was this, some kind of freaky performance art? Almost afraid to do it, she poked a few of the objects that seemed to be suspended in mid-air.

In silent amazement she looked around, taking in her surroundings. This definitely wasn’t Louisiana. Or Tennessee… or Colorado… or Nevada. She was pretty certain this was nowhere in the United States. Searching for a street sign or a billboard or anything, Eddy blinked. Everything was in Japanese. Oh great. This must be some kind of dream. The last she remembered she’s be perfectly sober, though blackouts weren’t exactly foreign.

Eddy couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. There was no way this was really happening. Maybe when she woke up she’d get her head checked or something. Yeah, that’s what she’d do.

Player objective: Simply here to RP, have fun, and generally be able to participate in things.
Also, I've always wanted to do an epic war game, and this gives me the perfect opportunity! As long as the game stays active and inclusive, I'll be quite alright. Though I do like original twists/surprises~

*Character*

Fandom: Sandman - Neil Gaiman's graphic novel series.
Character Name: Death
Point in Canon: Post-Sandman, Pre-Death spin-offs: directly after the wake of her younger brother and before she begins any misadventures of her own.
Personality:

Far from the archaic, bones-and-robes forms of Death, Sandman's Death is a perky, spunky, attractive punk-goth with a pleasant, down-to-earth personality. As the second eldest of the Endless, she is often seen consulting her younger siblings - and being damn good at it, too.

Death is compassionate and often gentle and is always seen escorting souls with a smile. She shares her brother Dream's love and attachment to humanity - to the extent that she takes on a mortal life once every year in order to fully understand the value of life. She is also very protective of her family, most obviously of her little brother Dream, and will not hesitate to tangle with a Fury or two to protect them. Despite her pleasant demeanor she is a very strong-willed character quite capable of standing her ground against whatever the worlds throw at her.

Background/History Link:

Death on Wikipedia :D

Death is both the living incarnation of the end of life and the spirit responsible for escorting souls to the afterlife after they have died. She visits people as they are born and then again when they pass away, and holds in her memory every encounter she has had with humankind.

Death is a member of the Endless, a family of anthropomorphic beings that embody powerful forces or aspects of the universe such as Desire, Delirium, and Destiny. She is the second eldest of the Endless and possibly the most powerful, often said to be the only Endless sibling not bound by rules. She is also virtually omniscient and demands the respect of many other supernatural forces. The Furies, for example, were quieted by the raising of her voice alone.

Throughout the Sandman series Death appears to council and aid her sibling Dream, who is the series' protagonist. Dream is the sibling closest to her, and the only one with whom she shares a deep affection for humanity. At the end of the series, Death appears to Dream and - albeit a little unwillingly - aids him in his plan to escape the duties and burdens of his role as King of Dreams by touching his hand and taking his life. She is the last to march in his funeral procession, turning the moon blood red as she passes by.

Character motivations: I'm a little unsure as to whether I need to fill this one out. Please let me know, and I'll be glad to tack it on later.

Starting Position: As a member of the Endless, a group that normally does not interfere with the business of Heaven or Hell, I'm tempted to start her on Earth. But I'm open to suggestions - this one could really go anywhere you need her to be.

Occupation: Death. She's also a jack-of-all trades kind of human, when she roams the mortal realm.

*Writing samples (the necessary evil)*

First-person canon sample:
There are lots of things that humans and I share in common. We have impossible families, we like babies, and animals, and nice clothing, and we appreciate rock music. But humans - god I love them - tend to lack a little in the brain department. Normally that's fine with me - it's endearing in its own way - but when little bits of human stupidity affect us, it's a little too much.

He loved them as much as I did - no, maybe more. But it cost him more than any anthropomorphic embodiment of dreams should have to suffer. And damn - who wouldn't want to go with the goddamn Furies on you? But what's been done's been done, and there's no use dwelling on it right? Everyone's got a job to do.

So much to do, and all the time in the world.

Third-person canon sample:
By now she should have been used to the sound of wings. But it was a different and strange thing when the soul was that of one of the Endless. There was a bright flash, too bright even for her eyes, and as always, the fluttering, beating, deafening sound of wings.

And then he was gone, and they were processing after his coffin - giants walking on the stars across the night sky. Earth never was quite the same without him.

Death walked the steets of the mortal realm, coming upon a familiar fountain. A flock of pidgeons pooled around the water's edge, nipping up the breadcrumbs a spritely old man picked and threw from the paper bag in his hands.

"'Scuse me, this seat taken?"

"Why no, not at all." She sat by his side and he gave her some bread, and they fed the pidgeons together.

"You know, my brother and I used to come here to feed the pidgeons just like this," she said, a small, wistful smile on her face.

"What happened?"

"He passed away."

"Oh, I'm sorry. ...Death can be a painful thing... but it is necessary. And often people are much better off for having experienced it."

The girl smiled and stood, tossing the rest of her bread out to the birds. She held out her hand to the man, and after regarding her for a moment or two he took it.

"I was afraid it would be painful..." he said. And she only smiled and shook her head.

"Come on, Richard. I think you and I are going to get along splendidly." She led him away from the peaceful body slumped in the bench, and they walked to the sound of wings.

Third-person game sample:
Something was wrong.

It didn't trouble her that the birds were frozen in mid-flight, or the earth was silent, or that time seemed to have left the world behind. What troubled her was that she didn't know why. She, who held the keys to the universe! This just didn't happen!

Death walked between the rows of stopped cars, waved among the frozen crowds. Tentatively, she reached out and touched the head of a bird stopped in the air above her head. Nothing. Not a beat, not a flutter. The pale girl frowned, directing a questioning glance at the sky. What were they up to up there, anyway? Silent as a ghost, she stepped out of the mortal realm. She was going to get to the bottom of this, and if she didn't... well, the two sides would have an angry anthropomorphic being on their hands.

Udou Akira 2/?
[info]corndogs
2008-07-19 02:39 am UTC (link)
Personality: He's a loyal man, through and through, and when it comes to fighting for a cause -regardless what it may be- one can have no greater ally than Udou Akira. As a member of the Air Treck S.W.A.T. team, the Windstorm G-Men, he was an excellent soldier, loyal to his comrades and his superior officers alike. Back before there was Behemoth, he was a laid-back fellow, an easy enough guy to get along with, and well-liked by the people he worked alongside. Some may have called him a dork on the random occasion, and much of the time with good reason. A bit of a smartass at times, but a good fellow all around. A model employee indeed. He was good at what he did and much of the time he seemed to enjoy carrying out the word of that feared Crocodile.
Then came Ren-fah, the founding of Behemoth, and his life-altering choice to trade his wings for fangs. After his decision to betray the G-Men -and, ultimately, his friends and family- Akira became a different kind of man. Cool and aloof, he led Behemoth as the Chou Jyuu, the feared Super Beast of the D-Class. Fearless and ruthless, he became all but a legend, a man to be both feared and respected. It wasn't an easy job, maintaining a team with a member count as great as Behemoth's. That he not only managed, but made a name for himself in the process, was but one indication of his devotion, his loyalty to the team he created. To say Udou Akira was kind-hearted wouldn't have been too far off the mark.

Background/History Link: Here, have a link.

Before Behemoth, there was the Windstorm G-men and the Shinjuku's Crocodiles. Akira joined their ranks at an early age, and it was through the training regimen enforced by one Wanijima Kaito that the boy gained the strength and confidence to keep up with the rest of the team. Why, by the time he reached his mid-teens, he had become a force unto himself, someone to be respected and most definitely feared. It would have been safe to say he had become one of the strongest D-class riders in the Air Treck world. Alongside the Fang King Wanijima Agito, a great comrade and friend, the two of them alone were sufficient enough to carry out busts on their own. All but undefeatable, those boys.

Life was good. Then Ren-Fah happened, and, suffice to say, everything changed.

Through a series of unfortunate events, Akira shot down Ren-Fah's brother in cold blood before the girl's very eyes. Sure, the boy had no idea that the man was he brother, or that he had no intention of taking her hostage, or even that the man's 'illegal package' was really nothing more than a child's birthday present. The guilt that struck him then was something to behold, and perhaps it was because of that remorse that he took it upon himself to look after the immigrant girl, a sort of apology for tearing apart her only family. He had to make up for her pain somehow.

Before they knew it, they were spending more and more time together, he and Ren-Fah. What started out as a promising friendship began to develop into something more, something beyond simple infatuation. Much to the dismay of his comrades, he began to fall for the girl, that boyish crush developing a bit further than was expected. One could say that the days spent in Ren's company were amongst the happiest in his life. He admired her, that quiet, innate strength, and that desire to help her, to protect her, became something a little bit deeper.

Such things didn't come without some price or another. While he spent time in the girl's company, relations with his team, with Agito, began to suffer. He wasn't quite the diligent rider he used to be, and on more than one occasion he let his prey slip from his grasp. Distraction, they called it, those times he spent sending and reading text messages when he should have been on watch, hunting and chasing and breaking like the beast he'd been trained to be. It wasn't long before the challenge was issued, a personal invite from the young Fang King himself. Few dared to take up Wanijima Agito's challenge, for few dared to hope for victory against a rider such as that. Ren-Fah was one of those foolish, brave few, and it was she who stepped forth to answer the boy's challenge.

Personality: Sano is, at first glance, looks like the average heir to one of the most powerful company's in Japan. At least, until you realize that yes, those are hearts on that dress shirt. With an amazing ability to go from flamboyantly gay cheerful to downright murderous in a couple seconds flat, Sano is a man of walking contradictions. Driven by his father's goals and his own personal dreams, Sano will stop at nothing to earn what he thinks is his right. A proud creature to the last, Sano is a man with ambitions, and is willing to do anything to achieve what he thinks should happen.

Sano wasn't always the bright, burning star of fabulous he is in present. As a child, he was much more subdued, finding little point in taking anything seriously--indeed, merely a doll, dancing to the puppet strings of his father. But the day came when he met Spitfire, and experienced the first defeat of his life. From that day forward, he changed. A loyal creature to the very last, Sano still owes some begrudged loyalty to the Flame King, even though the two parted ways two years before the main story. One would think that such an ambitious man would be completely stone-hearted, but Sano left Volcano into Behemoth, a team formed to protect young riders. Perhaps the might Aeon Clock has a shred of kindness in him, after all.
Background/History Link: < a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behemoth_%28Air_Gear%29#Yasuyoshi_Sano">one link</a> two link.

Sano Yasuyoshi. The sole son and heir to Sano Corp, a mysterious and powerful company with eyes on the sky regalia. Since he was 10 years old, the boy had been groomed, pressed, and forcibly molded into the perfect heir to carry out the family wishes. But such a thing would naturally leave the child without a sense of any identity for himself. A child heir who rarely spoke and never smiled.

Until the day he met one gravity child, Spitfire, and was thoroughly pummeled. For the first time in his life, Sano was overjoyed, laughing and twirling and generally making his wounds worse. He joined Spitfire's team at that young age of fourteen and...well, the two were always close, close enough to form the legendary Burning Blood combo with their dual road. It wasn't, however, until Sano was 16 and, like any brat, hacking into his father's files that he discovered the truth of his family's connection to the Gravity Children--after all, scientists needed to get funding from somewhere. Mildly disgusted by this attempt to play God, but unable to sever his ties and loyalty to his family, Sano kept the thing quiet, and continued on the mission his father had given him,

When Spitfire regained the flame regalia--Sano's own, personal goal--Sano left the team, although his reasons for it were things he kept entirely to himself. He then joined Behemoth, becoming one of the Sei Shi Jyuu in order to protect the little birds of D-Class and below (and feel up little boys. A man has to amuse himself somehow!) When the team was eventually defeated by Kogarasumaru, Sano was quickly snapped up into Genesis, becoming Simca's advisor, right-hand man, and babysitter to Kogarasumaru. Sano took this duty seriously (although, looking at him, it was sometimes hard to tell), and protected the fledgling Wind King from the growing threats in the AT world, including going toe-to-toe with Horn King Gabishi in able to save one (1) Mikura Kazuma and Emily. Even though Sano came close to death, Emily's attempts at distracting Gabishi gave Sano enough time to snag a handy motorcycle and slamming it into the Horn King's head. He managed to subdue the overgrown grasshopper a little longer, despite his injuries, until little Nue could show up and roast him.

Starting Position: Well now. What is a man raised Catholic to do? On one hand, there's Heaven, but Sano's faith was never terribly strong. On the other hand, Hell could get him to the power he needs, but you know what they say about deals with the Devil...So earth it is. Play it safe, and see what our options are, before making such a decision, oh yes.

Occupation: Fabulousman That'd be businessman/college student, with far too much of an interest in Time than is good for him.

*Writing samples (the necessary evil)*

First-person canon sample: Some days I wonder why I let Simca talk me into watching these children. I can almost see why she's enamored of Ikki-sama, the boy does have potential, but they're hopeless brats. Good lord, does no one teach their children manners, these days?

I'll do it for Migratory Bird, but this is beginning to look like a complete waste of my time.

Third-person canon sample: He wondered, a little, how long it had really been since he'd had the time to just run, streak across the rooftops and never care for whoever was around him. Sano had managed a couple, in the Behemoth days, but running in a cage was nowhere near as satisfying as running along the skyline.

Something caught his eye though, and he stopped dead for a moment. That trail of fire...feh. Sano's eyes narrowed behind those glasses(non-perscription, yes, but they looked good) at that familiar trail. Spitfire. The Aeon Clock gave an annoyed hiss, waiting until the flames had gotten far enough away for him to continue. Yes, he'd joined Genesis knowing that he'd be on the same team as that man again, but even after two years, the bastard could get on his nerves just by existing.

Che. Sano shook his head. This was not the time to be thinking about this--he had only so much time to run before work would call him back. He wouldn't let anyone, not even the Flame King, stand in his way.

Third-person game sample:
The calm was eerie, honestly. The calm, and the silence that set his hair on end. Sano was not a man prone to fear, or to doubt, and he'd severed his ties with faith years ago, but...he found himself pulling out that old cross, running fingers over it. When was it, that he'd stopped believing, anyway? When he found he'd be condemned for the simple matter of who he fell for? It didn't matter.

He opened the window, staring out across the city. This wasn't right. Something was wrong and he didn't know what. He hated that. If something was fucked up, he damn well wanted to know what. Another moment of hesitation, and Sano vaulted himself out the window, feeling his AT catch in the wall before he launched himself out into the night.

One way or another, he'd figure this out.

Player objective: Partially for the smut (this is LUDWIG, we are talking about after all.) But also for the scheming. Ludwig is not the type to take orders kindly. If something interests him enough, he is quite willing to join in the scheming.

Character

Fandom: Ludwig Kakumei
Character Name: Prince 'Lui' Ludwig
Point in Canon: After Cinderella's ball, just as he was making his way back to his own country.

Personality:

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there lived a beautiful prince by the name of Ludwig, or 'Lui' as he was also fondly known as. Assigned by his father with the task of finding a bride for himself, Ludwig travels through the land of Grimm's fairytales with his loyal childhood friend and slave aide Wilhelm, in search for his ideal pair of boobies wife.

Except Ludwig was anything but your average fairytale Prince Charming. Like most royalty, he is arrogant, spoiled, narcissistic, lecherous, sadistic with an additional dose of necrophillic tendencies. One of the reasons why his father had ordered for him to go on his journey was due to his concern and annoyance at Ludwig's bad habit of bringing home dead women, displaying them in glass tanks in a special room he had set aside for this specific purpose. His reasoning for his preference is that he prefer women who are quiet and submissive.

However, that aside, it may be rather significant to note that Ludwig has gained both the distain (due to his womanizing ways) and the love of his people. At least, enough love and respect from the guards to warn him off when he returned to his kingdom to walk straight into a trap. Rotten to the core, but with the charm and intelligence to pull it off with style, Ludwig is the one man you would hate to love and love to hate.

Background/History Link: Wikipedia. Manga. (come on, it's just 16 chapters.)

Ludwig's first stop was the only daughter of a neighboring country named Blanche, or Snow White. After falling in love with her dead body, Ludwig quickly brought her back to his kingdom, where a freak accident brought her back to life. His passion for her swiftly cooled after seeing her alive again, and when she tried to kill him to stop him from affecting her ploy to take over his kingdom, he murdered her and calmly commented that she was most beautiful when she was dead and cold.

There was only one woman that Ludwig had truly fallen in love with, and that was Princess Idke (Sleeping Beauty). Despite her lack of substantial chest assets, Ludwig finds himself attracted to her vulnerability and her headstrong attitude. However, after he broke the spell over her sleep, time begins to move again and the century that she had spent asleep soon claimed her life. Ludwig is then forced to continue on his travels. This time, he has given up on finding love, but instead chooses to concentrate his search on finding a woman who will serve the role of his queen well: one with an attractive figure, a presentable face and tolerable personality.

It is also at Sleeping Beauty's castle that Ludwig met Dorothea, a masochistic witch who becomes obsessed with the prince due to his skill with the whip and his non-hesitation in using it to put her in her place. She later begins to follow him around in the guise of a French Maid and caters to his every need in his travels.

Another woman who is following Ludwig around at the same time is the assassin Lisette, or Little Red Riding Hood as she is more commonly known by in the underworld. Aside from being tasked with the mission of killing him, Lisette herself holds a grudge against the prince. When they were children, Ludwig finds himself in the position of having to compete with the farm girl for the affections of their mutual friend, Wilhelm. Ludwig, who never had a friend before then, felt threatened by the girl whom Wilhelm had grown up with and obviously had a soft spot for. Hence, he set up a ploy. Redirecting the girl on her way to her grandmother's house to that of an old woman's who had just been burnt down (for those of you who are familiar with your Grimm's fairy tales, this is Hansel and Gretel's story we are given a peek into), Ludwig placed the trophy of a wolf on top of a nearby tree and tricked the girl into believing that the wolf is the spirit of the forest whom her parents had sold her and her grandmother to in return for riches. At the same time, Ludwig left a basket of gold, wine and meat in the backyard of Lisette's house. Lisette, upon seeing the feast and gold laid out on the table when she returned home, assumed that 'wolf''s words as truth and proceeded to hack her parents into pieces with an axe (pleasant daughter, yes.) She was about to bring the weapon down on Wilhelm too in a fit of uncontrollable murderous rage, Ludwig pushed the boy out of the way and was nearly killed himself.

This incident was what earned Ludwig Wilhelm's undying loyalty and friendship. As for Lisette, she embarked on the profession of an assassin after realizing her bloodlust. The two had only made peace with each other years later, after Ludwig saved Lisette from a fire that would have killed them both. It was also at that time when Ludwig learned from Hansel and Gretel (another pair of assassins after him) that his father had denounced his position as the crown prince and named his newly acknowledged half-brother, Julius, in his place. It is also Julius who had been sending assassins after him. Upon learning of this, Ludwig decides to hire Lisette's services with regards to her connections in the underworld and get her to track down his birth mother for help (she is her son's mother, enough said. The same face, the same rotten character, except worse) while making his way back to his kingdom immediately to find out what his good-for-nothing father is up to.

Character motivations: NA

Starting Position: Heaven. Oh, the irony.

Occupation: Starting position at archangel. Working towards Thrones. (and no, I did not just nearly misspelt that as 'throes'.)
