Welcome to Hacienda Tucson!

This is a newly opened (Early April 2008), secure living and schooling facility for pregnant teenagers, ages 13-18 and their partners. All medical staff are well trained in handling teen pregnancies, and our teachers are compassionate and caring. We offer nutrition education geared toward expectant parents, parental education, and intensive support, both before and after the baby is born. For this reason, we currently limit the number of students to 20: 10 expectant parents, and their partners, should they choose to come.

About Hacienda Tucson

We are located on the outskirts of Tucson, Arizona. Our building looks like an ordinary, though large, house from the street. Inside are a number of spacious bedrooms for students. Staff live in apartments behind the main building.

There is a large kitchen where community meals are prepared and students may prepare snacks. Additionally, nutrition education classes may at times be taught here. There are no formal classrooms, instead GED prep classes will be taught, based on skill levels, in one of the large study areas.

In the back of the building is a heated pool which students may use, and will also be used for some low-impact phys ed classes. Beyond the pool, you will find well maintained gardens, suitable for walking and thinking, or sitting and relaxing.

Community Rules

Yes, it's that time.

-a limited number of characters will be allowed to arrange adoptions for their child. However once the adoption is completed, the student will not be allowed to remain at the school. They will get one week 'support time' following the completion of the process, then have to leave.
-Students who keep their child will be allowed to remain at the school until their child turns one. In the time leading up to this event, staff will work with the student to arrange for a transition into the community or back to their home.
-If you are considering ANY major story line (INCLUDING MULTIPLE BIRTHS) discuss it with a mod first. If you want a multiple birth, the time to discuss it would preferably be before joining.
-characters will be accepted through 20 weeks (IRL time) pregnancy.
-1 week IRL = 2 weeks game. Therefore a full pregnancy (40 weeks IRL) would play out over 20 weeks game time.
-The community allows both pregnancy and male-pregnancy
-NO ILLEGAL DRUGS. NO, NONE, NADA. Characters cannot be current users or in any stage of withdrawal.
-Your character must be coming voluntarily, not because "mommy/daddy/gramma/whoever made me" It is understandable if they get homesick, or are somewhat nervous or scared to be there. But they have to want to be there.
-Look at the role list before applying to make sure the role you want is available. To show you've read these rules, enter your favorite song title in the subject heading when you apply

-no godmodding
-your LJ must be specific to this comm (ie NOT used for ANY other comm)
-friends lock all entries, and post a disclaimer indicating in some way shape or form that you are not the person you play
-updates are every two weeks, one reminder will be posted, several days before the end period. If you are removed for failure to update you may rejoin once without reapplying AFTER speaking to one of the mods.
- 2 character limit, Talk to the mods if you want a third, we'll discuss it and get back to you.
-NO AVOIDANCE--if someone IMs you, do NOT just ignore them!
-Keep IC/OOC separate, this includes knowledge as well as drama/fighting.
-Please be grown up. If someone attacks your character IC, don't get upset OOC (see above rule)
-Please know your role. You don't have to be a doctor or counselor in real life, but be able to play your role convincingly, please.
-Member screen names are private and not to be shared. This includes not sharing the password to your IM account. If your account is found to be the source of IM spam, you WILL be banned. By the same token, we'd love if you want to promote the comm, but NOT by spamming people. It makes US look bad. It's rude, and it pisses people off.
-RESPECT YOUR FELLOW PLAYERS. RESPECT RESPECT RESPECT Most of the above rules are about respect. If you are respectful and considerate you'll be fine in here. If you are rude, only play with certain people, and like to start OOC drama, to be blunt, your ass WILL be out.
