Gyakuten Kenji @ TGS08
Hi there! This is my first post on the comm, though I've been lurking around for quite a bit now. :D Anyhow, I managed to go down to the Tokyo Game Show on Saturday. Took me a few days to organize all the photos I took, but I managed to get a few good ones of the Gyakuten Kenji booth.

A bit of a close-up on the Steel Samurai and King of Prosecutors trophy.
All the above were taken while my friend and I were in the queue for the game trial. We waited for an hour or so and it would have been an immensely agonizing wait if not for us spotting many cosplayers in the queue in front of us - there were two Edgeworths, one Gumshoe, one Maya, one Trucy, two Franziskas. And behind us there was Apollo and Klavier :D Also we managed to watch the video that was being screened like six or seven times. I wanted to record the video but there was a "Please do not record" sign there D8
The video they played had the official Gyakuten Kenji trailer, and also a recap of the first three games. From what I remember (and if I understood it correctly orz), the recap featured Oldbag waiting for Edgeworth in his office, and she went on to show clips from the first two games to prove that she knew a lot about Edgeworth. After that, Gumshoe interrupted and said that he knew a lot more about Edgeworth, so he showed clips from the third game to prove it. Oldbag was NOT PLEASED so she said that she would reveal "THE FORBIDDEN MEMORIES OF MILES EDGEWORTH" OR SOMETHING TO THAT EFFECT, IDK. Cue a black screen with blooming roses in the background and the ringtone from Justice for All case one playing. But before she could continue, Edgeworth burst in and shouted, "HOLD IT!" And when Oldbag saw him she squealed, "MICCHAAAAAAN! I missed you~" and something about wanting to become his bodyguard. Edgeworth had this "oh please no" expression on and turned her down. And then he asked why Gumshoe was there too, and said something like "you'd better watch out for next month's review..." Ahaha poor Gumshoe. The video ended with a short clip of Oldbag chasing Edgeworth and then he stooped down to catch his breath, and said, "Just when will she stop chasing me..."
After that we managed to get in to play the game. It's only 50% done, apparently, and we only got to try out the first case, but it's great! The gameplay feels like the original's, but there are differences. For one, you can move about the crime scene freely, and when you come to a spot you think looks interesting, you can choose to zoom in and investigate it more closely. You can talk to people present e.g. the first case had a murder in Edgeworth's office, so he could go around talking to the policemen on duty. Gumshoe follows you around your room while you investigate, so you can talk to him whenever you want. The Court Records option remains the same, but there's this new thing called LOGIC where you have to pick up a few observations then deduce something from there.
Anyway after our time was up, the staff told us to leave the consoles where they were. At this point we were allowed to go closer to the set and take photos.

Regarding the tea set -- it was so funny because in the game, at the murder scene in Edgeworth's office, the tea set is completely smashed. When you inspect it, he says something like, "Wait until I catch the person who did this..." Also, when we left the booth, we all got a Blue Badger handkerchief as a souvenir:
After that, we dropped by the Capcom sales booth but sadly most of the good Gyakuten Kenji merchandise were sold out :( There was a Blue Badger shirt, some food item (can be seen in the Steel Samurai photo, slightly obscured - I should've taken a better photo of it...), and a Godot coffee mug! All those were gone, what was left was this glass with Edgeworth on it, and some... picture set? Can't remember. Oh well. Anyway, in 2009 they'll be selling figurines manufactured by Volks. And also, I got a photo of Edgeworth at the sales booth:
Aaaand that's it! Thanks for reading :D
