internets, please help me! [Jan. 13th, 2009|04:30 am]

halo6819
im getting married in july, and a couple of friends offered to perform a song at our wedding. my fiance in a moment of weakness said i could pick the song, i would really like it to be a guster song, however, most of their happy music has depressing (or ironic) lyrics and the sad music has happy lyrics!

HELP! if i dont find a song soon, im gona lose the one decision that is all mine in the wedding and our friends might be standing up on a stage singing (god help us) fall out boy

so far the only one that might be acceptable is Two of Us, however, she is suspicious of the lyrics and thinks they have some sort of sinister twist to them.

any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Another Bebe! [Aug. 9th, 2008|01:37 pm]

catherish312
Guster had their third baby girl! Here's info from an email they sent out:

"Another Guster email announcement. Another baby girl.

Ryan and Angela's daughter, Lionelle Rosalie Miller, arrived June 16th. The third (and final) Guster-girl of the year, Leo weighed 7 pounds and 14 ounces at birth. Her photo is up on the road journal, along with pictures of her friends Jolene Rosenworcel and Sloan Gardner.

Despite all the procreation, we've been putting the finishing touches on about 17 new songs this summer and we ought to begin recording them in a month. For those of you keeping score at home, we've moved from Reprise/Warner Brothers Records to Aware/Columbia Records. Expect a new album in early oh nine.

And those of you hoping to stalk Scooter this summer can find him traveling the world greening tours by Jack Johnson and DMB for Adam's environmental non-profit, REVERB. Our merch-girl, Amy, is doing the same thing on tours by John Mayer, Maroon 5 & Counting Crows. Visit this link, where Adam becomes an official "EarthKeeper," to check out what Scooter and Amy have been up to, sign up to volunteer, and see free music.

Until the next newsworthy Guster event, whenever and whatever that may be....

g"

The newest baby, Lionelle Rosalie Miller (parents Ryan and Angela Miller), born June 16th:

The middlest baby, Sloan Sullivan Gardner (parents Adam and Lauren Gardner), born May 16th:

And the eldest baby, Jolene Rosenworcel (parents Brian and Megan [I had to search a while for that one] Rosenworcel), born February 6th:

Cuteness. Major cuteness!

Guster's Meow Album [May. 30th, 2008|04:06 am]

illusion14

Does anybody have any ideas as to where I could download this? Even better, if anybody had it and could upload it or send it to me (illusion14@gmail.com) somehow, I'd be forever in your debt. I'd never heard of it until now but I'm incredibly curious.

The Meowstro Sings - Guster's Keep It Together is an album created by the band Guster. It features all but one of the tracks from their release Keep It Together, with the vocals replaced by simulated cat meows. According to the band, the meows were sung by Guster's monitor engineer at the time, Matt Peskie.[1] The tracks were then released to Kazaa, in an effort to deter downloading of legitimate tracks.

The "meow mixes" gained a following from some fans, and were made available to Keep It Together purchasers through a link hidden on that album. It is still available from iTunes.

Thanks.

GREEK [Apr. 22nd, 2008|04:51 pm]

Anyone watch the show GREEK? My sister likes the show, and I just so happened to watch it last night... low and behold, during the school dance scene they played (you guessed it) a Guster song -- "I Hope Tomorrow is Like Today". They seem to play that in a lot of TV shows. I've heard that song in more movies and TV shows than any other Guster song.  I'm not complaining :) I just think it's interesting.

Hey, kind of a strange request, but by some chance does anybody here know how to play the harmonica solo from 'Backyard'? And if so, what are the notes to it?

awesome show. [Jan. 28th, 2008|07:10 pm]

hey guys!

so as a broke should-be-out-of-college-but-i'm-not student living in south florida, i can't see guster nearly as often as i'd like. so i was totally psyched when i saw they had scheduled a show in ft. lauderdale before they left for the ships n dip cruise this year (because last year they set sail without so much as a hello for those of us who can't affort cruises AND because they were actually here and played a show in october...what luck!). within the first 20 seconds of gus gracing the stage, i realized why they had scheduled the show. WE WERE GUINEA PIGS! with brian away having babies, tyler the drummer from barenaked stepped in. they must have thought, "hey, let's do a show at that small place in ft. lauderdale. we have no fans in florida, so if we fuck up, no one will notice! it'll be like practice, but with more people!" (or something like that).

anyways, what followed was a most-awesome show (i don't think it beat october's "hey guys, we're going to get totally wasted 2/3 through this show and then spend a good portion of the rest of it free-styling) that i felt so lucky to see. i took a couple short videos with my camera which aren't of the best quality, but i'll post them up here later when i get the chance. tyler crowned himself the "lightning goddess" and ryan kept forgetting lyrics. it was a blast!

the thundergod is truly irreplacable, but i believe everybody on the cruise is getting the next best thing. but what i really want to know, is where was scooter?
